We had a leather sofa of fishpools one of four that has been replaced this one has been the worst I have contacted Julie from there after sales department she advised that they said there nothing wrong with the sofa but said here is a independent company that will come out and inspect the sofa at a charge we paid £84 so we done it the technician come out and went all over the sofa tested it and come to the conclusion that it was a manufactured fault so they give me a full report of the faults I forwarded it on to Julie. So two weeks later Julie contacted me to say her manager Derek has disagreed with the report the company does 75 to 100 call outs about furniture and it was fishpools idea to get a report from them a independent one I've never met the guy or new the company. I really feel let down by fishpools as they know what happened to us my dear dad was murdered in front of my face I suffer from anxiety ptsd ny mum is a widow and since my dear dad has passed she suffers from panic attacks and anxiety I think it's shocking they have come to this decision feel like I might get legal advice on this people come into our home and can't understand how the sofa has gone so bad. Customer service is terrible. They sold me a damaged mirror then implied I damaged it. Offer zero help when things go wrong and look for ways to wriggle out of simple situations. Check out their own google reviews. Then decide if you want to spend your hard earned money there. read more

This is a great furniture store. The old fashioned type. It has everything one could want. Half of my house has been furnished by this store. They have a bedroom department, linens department, lighting department, bathroom department, fireplace department, china department not to mention the usual sofa's, chairs and dining room furniture. They even have a coffee shop. I also find they are competitive on price too. My top tip for buying furniture is to bargain, there is always room for them to come down in price. Even in a sale. Or try for a deal on the delivery. There are lifts to get to the different floors. They also do interest free credit. They occassionally have promotions where you go in and have a glass of champagne or chocolates etc. You do have to pay £1 to use the carpark. They have an outlet store next door. read more

I love fishpools - i go in there to browse and imagine the things i would buy if i 1. had the room and 2. had the disposable income. The furniture is amazing and well made - this stuff is designed to last a life-time, and the range is fantastic with modern pieces sandwiched among great oak and old-fashioned period items. They have a range of items from large furniture right down to the little accessories. I bought my mum some crystal pieces for her birthday last year and they were great value. These items are located in a room to the right when you enter the main store. Fishpools also have a smaller store a few doors down where they sell off the end of line items, or returns at a substantial discount. Warning - exploding glass table! The glass top on my garden table has spontaneously exploded! I was sitting by the table about half-an-hour before with my grandchild, so thank god it did not happen earlier. Even after clearing this up (and cutting myself in the process) there are still bits of glass strewn all over my garden in-between the paving stones that I cannot get out, so I have no idea how I am ever going to let my grandchildren play out there again. Let alone the fact that I have 2 smaller tables with the same glass that I am now going to have to get rid of. I just contacted Fishpools and provided them with photos but have been told "the goods are now out of warranty" so they "will not be able to pursue this". Unbelievable! These products are dangerous and should be recalled. I have always liked Fishpools and recommended them to family and friends, but none of us will ever shop here again after the way they have dealt with this. read more

I have been waiting since January for a bookcase. I have phoned Fishpools on a couple of occasions and have been fobbed off with lame excuses. The best one was that it was on its way from Far East that was almost a month ago. Is it coming by rowing boat I wonder???? Fishpools quick to take your money but slow with the delivery and service. I will not be paying any delivery charge and would expect an incentive to install my faith and to encourage me to buy goods from this company. read more

After buying a suite from DFS, say no more, I was recommended to Fishpools by some friends. The quality of the goods on sale along with the proffesionalism of the staff makes it a pleasure to shop. I only wish that I would have found Fishpools sooner! read more

After looking at their website and seeing that they offer ample customer parking I decided to drive there today. Unfortunately Fishpools neglects to mention that they charge £1.50 for the parking which you get refunded if you buy something for £3 or more. For Waltham Cross, outside the M25, for a company selling expensive furniture, this is rediculous. 100m away neither Homnebase nor Wickes are charging anything for parking and just opposite the shop there is the High Street public parking space for £1.40 for 2 hours or if you only go for 30 min or 1 hour,30p or 60p respectively! ============ Update 21/02/2012: As mentioned below Fishpools have now clarified the parking charges on their website, including alternative parking options. read more

Fishpools have a wide range of furniture over several floors. Sofas, dining, beds, lighting, accessories. The budget varies and goes up to known labels and some designer ranges which are to order. The sales staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the after sales is very disappointing. I decided to purchase designer furniture. I received a faulty order on delivery. The delivery guy noticed, took photos, and reassured me it would be sorted and to hold on to the furniture. I look back now and realise, with this retailer, it would have been better to refuse delivery. A technician came over after a couple of weeks later and was quite unfriendly. After a lot of quibbling, he took more photos and agreed to replace the goods received with new items. A week later I received a call to suggest repairing them instead! £500 dining chairs! The issue is still ongoing, but I don't think I would purchase from them again. Really poor after sales :( read more

Product offering is not the problem here.. the staff and service is. 1) I asked a lady sat (when you'd expect her to walk around asking customers if they needed help), whether a table i was keen on, came in different wood finishes. Abruptly, she replied no. So I asked about other tables I had seen that came with wood colour keys, presumably meaning those are the options for finishes. This time, she claimed a wooden key had nothing to do with the type of table top, but was for the 'Upholstery'. Looking a bit confused as my mind told me upholstery relates to cloth, she still continued as if i was the stupid one. All this time, sat comfortably with arms crossed and very hostile body language. For someone who works in a 'furniture' store, I was shocked by her incompetence and sheer lack of any kind of knowledge of the products she's paid to sell. This was like someone asking what flavours of icecream you can have, and the icecream man replying that flavours are not for icecream, they fuel the van. 2) The guy who eventually served us (I use that term loosely) was less than pleased when I asked if we could 'buy' (god forbid we give them business) a table. Granted it was nearly closing time, but correct me if I'm wrong, the customer is meant to be treated like one, not a criminal. Numerous facial expressions and rude replies ensued, the most shocking was when he asked us to walk down the stairs and not take the shop lift, EVEN THOUGH my mum was on crutches. I didn't need to justify that stairs were impossible but I did, and again his response was one of disdain, annoyance and left me regretting the fact we just spent £200 with this guy. So customers with disabilities are not welcome here?? Oh, did i mention that he assured us the table we purchased would be assembled on delivery? Guess what it just arrived.. in a flat pack box, the delivery guy says its self assembly. With this many errors can you blame me for writing this. read more
