The total bill was well under what I thought I would pay. They told me this error message is fairly common on our type of car. Anyhow, Mr. Tire doesn't do that work. He suggested I get it towed. My son on the phone said drive it home. The advisor at Mr. Tire was RIGHT. I didn't make it home. I drove it the 15 miles home and went to pull the tires off and found that all 20 of them were tightened well beyond what my electric impact was capable of handling which was a first. Keep in mind they were the last ones to touch the wheels. The owner gave a complete BS reason that didn't include someone completely not paying attention to what they were doing when tightening down the lug nuts. To suggest the lugs tighten on their own after a short drive is insulting. There is a reason why it's common practice to retorque lug nuts after 100 miles of driving. It's because they loose! After two attempts to get someone to remove them I dropped it off. When I showed up after it being there a week I was hit with $130 bill for their removal. Any reputable shop would have NEVER considered charging for a follow up to a repair THEY did. I'm giving up the low rating because of the dishonesty and lack of integrity. I definitely recommend other places. They came recommended as a closer VW mechanic, but I'll be making the drive to Hagerstown or Morgantown in the future.
