It was ok. Service was a little slow, but everyone is short-staffed these days, so that was understandable. I love to leave stellar reviews but I can't this time. We had both the stuffed scallops with crab imperial and the crab Mac and cheese. The crab Mac and cheese started off great and had a good amount of crab in it, but as it cooled, it became a rock ... hard and difficult to eat. The taste was good but it was so dry underneath that it was inedible. The scallops were fine though the tomato relish on top did nothing to add to the flavor, but seemed superfluous to the taste of the scallops. The crab imperial was not. It should've been billed as crab quiche, and that would've been much closer to the truth. It had a good amount of crab in it, but was mostly tasteless. We've eaten in this restaurant in the past and it was much better. We certainly do understand COVID changes, but they need to actually taste and test their food. We took a sunset cruise here with deckhands Austin and Paven (not sure if that was his name or not) and a lovely captain. They were absolutely amazing! It was my husband and our two kids and mother in law and sister in law. We arrived around 615 and began boarding around 6:40. Boat left the dock around 7:05. We toured the canal and the Delaware Bay into the Atlantic Ocean. We saw dolphins swimming too. It was peaceful and magical all in one. The captain told stories and gave us some history of the town (I wasn't here for that TBH, just trying to enjoy an evening on the water). The deck hands came around and chatted everyone up to make sure we were having a good time. It was a blast. Highly recommend if you're in Lewes. read more

5/2/2015 Went on a half-day trip with a buddy to fish for tautog. The captain anchored down over one wreck for the entire trip even though the spot was not producing fish! The spot must have been a mile out from the marina. My buddy caught one 16" tautog and a deckhand threw it back thinking the size limit was 16" when it was actually 15". It would've been a decent trip, but I think the captain was more concerned with conserving fuel and hearing himself talk about his time on Wall Street than putting us on some fish. read more

For instance; nice big jumbo shrimp, frozen even, we're tasty but why mess with a simple cocktail sauce and make it weird and weak. Good crab cakes. Meaty. Nachos, ok. Queso must be sold cheap in 55-gallon drums. Where's fresh FRESH fish. Also? There's tons of local breweries and distilleries within a 15 mile radius; where's their stuff. I have fished on the Thelma Dale IV many times throughout the years. Primarily in the fall (Nov) for tog. I've not always come home with fish but I've always thought that Capt. Rick has given his best shot, always searching for fish when the bite slows down. Mates Mark and Allison are great help keeping fishermen with fresh bait, untangling and unsnagging lines. Mark has come by and offered helpful ideas for me to catch fish a number of times. Most of the time it's worked spot-on for me. I'll be coming back as long as they keep putting that kind of effort into making it as fun and potentially successful for the fishermen as possible. It is fishing. Sometimes you catch well and sometimes you don't. To be successful you need a good captain, crew, and boat, good bait and rigs (they help with that too!), your own good fishing senses, and some fish willing to bite. I feel the Thelma Dale IV gang does all they can under their control. The rest is up to the angler, the fish, and sometimes just plain luck. read more

A dear friend chartered Pappy's Lady last night to celebrate her sons 24th birthday with 8 additional friends for a 3hour sail (cue Gilligan's Island theme song). The staff, especially Captain Mike and his crew, were incredibly helpful and thoughtful - as we had a range of ages and tastes onboard, and brought our own food/beverage options. They were very accommodating - and everyone appreciated their friendly attitude. We were shown some lovely dolphin sightings, were told about the different lighthouses and land masses, and made it back to land safely (end cue of song). I would highly recommend them - it was a beautiful outing for a sunset cruise. read more

We had the misfortune of being on a smaller boat that was completely full, on a slow fishing day. We had lots of lines tangling side to side and under the boat. Crew did their best to keep things straight, the boat was just too small for the group. Elbow to elbow fishing with no place to retreat or escape can be difficult. But when we went there we only caught 1 fish ( it was a baby shark but I guess we can call it a fish). That is a very little amount saying we had 16 people on board in our party. We did the Dolphin Whale Watch Cruise and it was excellent. The staff were very knowledgeable and told us many interesting facts about the area and the Dolphins and Whales. We found the boat clean and with plenty of room to move about. We saw plenty of dolphins and the highlight was watching a humpback whale for a good 30 minutes.We did get back to the dock about 30 min late but that was so we all had plenty of time watching the whale. I highly recommend this cruise and we will definitely be doing it again. read more

Took the dolphin & whale boat tour today. We weren't so sure because of the mixed reviews here (though many of them seem to be about the restaurant). We had a great tour. Boat was older and the bathrooms were gross. But otherwise everything was great. Not crowded, good covid safety protocols. There is a nice yellow lab on the boat who barks when he hears dolphins. So cute! Our 4-year-old son is terrified of dogs but somehow didn't mind this wonderful working dog. We saw a lot of dolphins. Captain and two mates were friendly and helpful. They said there hadn't been many whale sightings recently and that we might not see one. But we lucked out! Crew gave us a very long time to view a beautiful finback whale who hung out for quite a while and surfaced many times for his audience. Beautiful day to be out on the ocean. I rented Pappy's Lady for an evening outing with friends and family, and the boat and crew were fantastic. There were 10 people in our group, ranging in age from 23 to 81. Captain Mike and his 2 mates were delightful. They helped everyone aboard, made sure we were happy, and they attended to every need or desire we had. We were on the boat for 3 hours, and we had a chance to see lighthouses, dolphins, and the beautiful shoreline. I can't say enough good things about Fisherman's Wharf, the boat, and the crew. We have been in dispute with our credit card company since September regarding their charges even though we have an email from them stating they are canceling our trip due to the incoming hurricane. Unprofessional, unorganized, and racist undertones. I set up a fishing trip for me and my 2 sons a week prior. As I'm waiting in line to check in at the information booth, there is a group of 6 white people who didn't set anything up, they just came and showed up at that moment. I know that based on the conversation they said we would like to do a half day, they said hold up, consulted with each other and then said "no we will do a whole day". And the one was saying yea cause I will call off of work. So I know they didn't call like me. They get the ok and gather their things to get ready for their fishing trip. So I'm next with my 2 sons and the older white guy says "we don't have anymore spots". So I say "I called and the young lady said I was good for the 8am trip". Now mind you, as I was talking he was trying to cut me off and talking over me telling me how things happen in business and its just no more spots. We took the dolphin and whale cruise last week not knowing what to expect. The trip was wonderful as we were able to see dolphins and a humpback whale! The captain went out of his way to make sure we were able to see the whale and even got back late because of it but I don't think anyone minded as we got to see the whale up close! Captain Mark and Mike were hard working and fun on the parent child fishing adventure. They found a great spot, kept bait on the hooks and helped us cast. They were encouraging to everyone and had a good sense for keeping things safe. The kids caught sand shark, croakers, king fish and flounder. They took some home and ate it too. Everyone went in on a fishing pool pretty sure the person who one was the only person who caught a fish and it was a tiny king fish barely 10" long. I went out recently with 5 of my grandkids on the Thelma Dale V. We started a half hour late on our 4 hour fishing excursion on the Delaware Bay. The boat's restrooms were a disgrace, dirty and stinky, with no water in the sinks. The mates were friendly, but a bit inexperienced and didn't keep up with giving us bait. We had to scrounge fresh bait for ourselves several times. The rental rods and reels were inferior and three of our 7 reels became unusable. The captain was sullen and just placed us on a spot out from Broadkill Beach which produced a small number of small croakers and a rare flounder. The trip cost $50 per adult and was one of those seldom exceptions to "a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work." I can't recommend this boat. read more

We took the 3 hour "dolphin and whale" tour. To start, I was unimpressed with the "crew" which consisted of an older gentleman who smoked the whole time and two young ladies who basically stood around the entire trip. As for the trip itself, we did see some dolphins. Then for some odd reason we circled at (full speed) the ocean for an hour, presumably looking for whales. There were no announcements, no narration for the trip. At least give me some useless trivia if we are just going around in circles. Just make it up if you need to! It was essentially 3 hours and $106 I will never get back. Maybe they had an off day but they won't be getting my money again. read more

The captain moved the boat about every 10 minutes and we were never able to really fish in any spot very long and only caught small fish. We used our Groupon on August 15th. A Beautiful day and the Captain rode 6 miles past his normal run as he had info that a Humpback Whale was feeding. We had the most amazing experience - the whale breached 8 times while we were there. We also saw some dolphins but the whale was certainly the star of the show! Our tour lasted an extra hour - we totally appreciate the extra fuel that was burned and time taken to make sure we had the best experience ever. We've been to Alaska and didn't see anything as awesome as this! read more

Horrible Nasty Place to be! I bought total of 3 Groupon voucher for Full Day deep-sea fishing for 6 of my friends. Before buying, I called the location few times to confirm that we can use the voucher for the weekend, they confirmed that we can use it on Sunday for Full Day, I asked them what time should we be there because we have few people driving from New Your to join us and some of us were driving for Virginia. I bought the voucher then I called again because their web-site did not include a detailed schedule for Sunday - The customer service girl and the manager confirmed to me that we have to be On-Site at 7:30AM to register for the full day Fishing. When we arrived there at 7:20AM, we were told that we missed the Full day boat and we can take the Half day deep-sea fishing boat at 8:00AM, I asked them that I called them several times about the day and time, the Old man and old lady simply said well that's just how it is. You missed it. Then I asked him that if we can get a refund on or full day voucher since we were miss-informed by them, they Simply said NO- My friend and I drove for hours I drove for about 3 hours to get there, and now I am dealing with some MORANS....We did not want to just leave after driving for hours so we used the voucher for the half day and told them that we will file an official complain about them misinforming us..... The Boat- Nasty Nasty- the Bathroom No running water, toiled don't flush--crap all over the seats and bowl is filled with yes crap....broken seats...there was NO running water of any sort on the boat.to even wash your hands....Horrible stench ....crew included several kids -that were not fully trained....(they included a cash pool for largest fish caught to win -There was NO FISH caught by anyone! The captain took us about 1/2 to ¾ of mile off shores in the bay area -- to do Deep-Sea Fishing (WTF), he stops and lets people fish for 10-15 minutes, and then moves around in circle within the bay area wasting almost 4 hours, NO ONE CAUGHT A SINGLE FISH!!!! Then he move the boat little out of bay area, for 20 Minutes -NO ON CAUGHT A SINGLE FISH!!!!........Then it was time to head back (WTF.....) This was a TRUE (BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM)....You pay so they got your money -then they take you on a circular trip around the bay area that you can enjoy from the shores or fishing pier near by-----WTF -why pay $$$$$ for DEEP-SEA FISHING when you can get the same thing form a fishing pier, because the captain will only take you ¾ of a mile off shores....SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!! read more
