The house contains rooms with private bathrooms and rooms on a floor with shared bathrooms. I was very hesitant to book at first when I read that I would have to "share" a bathroom. We just returned home after a 4 night stay here and we were more than satisfied! Tom, the house owner, is super kind, personable and hospitable. His other workers (Rayvn and Chris) are also so helpful and always get you what you need. You can request to have breakfast in the morning from a menu selection and they bring you your food out at the time you request to have it ready for you . Tom always came and checked up on us wherever we were sitting during breakfast to chat about random things, show us his puppy and ask us if we wanted more food or needed anything. The room we stayed in had a shared bathroom in the hallway (we stayed on the 2nd floor and other rooms shared 2 full baths and a half bath with us) and it was actually very clean. The staff did a good job replenishing towels each day and cleaning the shower/toilet/sink. Felt very comfortable here. We would love to try a room with a private bathroom (it was so booked up when we tried to get one initially so book way in advance!) I love that the beach was only a 4 minute walk and access to the main streets was only an alley walk away from the house. No complaints at all after this stay. When we sat out on the porch each morning and night, many people would walk by making comments about how pretty and interesting the establishment was. The interior of the house smells super good and is clean. Highly recommend staying here! Overall 5/5 stars and we will definitely be back next year

This faded quickly at the entry level with a strong smell of wet dog, followed by no cooling on the interior. The pictures on the internet are dated and things are cluttered now. The room I booked was not the room held, but since it was a weekday I could have my pick of the 3 front rooms, none of them the one I booked (?). The room was clean and there was AC that, when turned On, over time cooled the room down. During the night I was awakened by the heat and found the AC was not cycling On unless the ceiling fan was On (?). There are plentiful sugary and baked goods snacks and soda in the breakfast room for anytime. The fresh fruit though was over or under ripe. The morning coffee was not hot. Breakfast did happen and I was able to enjoy a wide selection of melon and berries with yogurt that was put out buffet style. The eggs requested, came pretty much as desired. The first morning I found out the free bike option was no longer available. I must have read about bikes in the reviews but now find they are no longer available in the fine print of the booking. My pleasure in staying here always fell short. I would have enjoyed a cookie cutter motel as much. I suppose I wanted the accommodation to be as attentive as the decor pictured. Then, as mentioned, the pictures are from some time in the past.

Food: Overall, the food was excellent, with a great selection. I started with the stuffed dates, and my husband started with the fried brussels. He really liked them, and I enjoyed my dates. The bacon jam that accompanied the dates could stand to be slightly more salty than sweet, just to counterbalance the rest of the dish. We then shared the kale Caesar salad, which I must admit I when it came out that it was enormous, so I was glad we were splitting it! I absolutely loved the flavors, and the croutons added a great texture. Lastly, I had the Peruvian Chicken thighs and pimento rice and my husband had the fish of the day (salmon) and vegetable risotto. My dish was phenomenal. The chicken was juicy and the rice had just a touch of heat and the pesto sauce that accompanied really lifted both items. My husband's salmon was cooked to perfection with a gorgeous crispy skin. Drinks: Vino Del Mar, although it has vino in the name, has an extensive drink list, both wine and cocktails (alcoholic and N/A) and beer, so really, something for everyone. I really appreciate the 3oz/6oz/9oz options for some of the wines so you are able to try more without getting tanked. Extensive wine list, with some more obscure regions and varietals represented, which this wine geek really appreciates. I did not have any of the cocktails, although (disclosure #2) I attended a cocktail competition the next day (not at the restaurant) and was able to try bartender Gary's signature thyme cocktail, which I really enjoyed. A great balance of sweet and savory. Service: Gary (bar manager) is very personable, and his passion really shines through his wine recommendations as well as the attention to detail he pays to the cocktails he is creating. Lori always ensured that our water glasses were full. No issues with service at all. Vibe: I never went to the Lewes Diner, so I have no idea what the place looked like before the owners gutted it and re-built it into Vino Del Mar, but they did a wonderful job. Clean lines, great cool tones, lots of grays and blue-gray walls. It's an older building, so no high ceilings or anything like that, but the restaurant is big and bright. I also think the upright barrels behind the bar is a great idea if you can't get into the bar; there's a space to have a drink while you wait without your needing to hover and encroach on other guests. We got there right at 1pm when they opened this past Saturday, and by 1:30pm, the bar was packed. Happy hour between 1-5 on Saturdays definitely draws a crowd (and happy hour is available throughout the entire restaurant when offered, not just at the bar, which is really appreciated). Other: The menu clearly spells out allergens and other specifics (GF, VEG, etc.) so there's little guesswork if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. If you're looking for a place in Lewes that has a great wine and cocktail list with excellent food, Vino Del Mar is the place to be. We look forward to visiting again soon, and if we lived in the area, we'd be regulars.

It can be a bit of a party atmosphere on weekends so sit back and watch the show! Our first couple of days were mid week and the place was only 10% occupied, so the water pressure was super high! Great for showers in the really nice bath houses, but remember your pressure regulator for your RV. Speaking of bath houses, the showers use the type of controls where you have to put the button to keep the water running. The shower that was ADA compliant wasn't working properly, my only problem all week. Checking in and the sites were great. A nice family pool and another pool with a swim up bar too. The store was well stocked and not overly inflated pricing. The weekend after memorial day it was a loud party till about an hour past quiet time, but not too bad and then it did quiet down, so come to party! :) Also it can get windy near the ocean so watch those awnings. Overall, a great time!

Staff doesn't follow rules riding golf carts. Headlights were not on when we were told it was quiet…read morehours. We did not realize it was past quiet hours. We turned it off as soon as they told us. Quiet hours 11pm-8am. It was little after 11 when they came by. Darnell got very defensive when my spouse indicated he should put his headlights on since it can be dangerous. He came at my husband and would not leave our site. He was very unprofessional. Then the owner and man came over 5 minutes later. They made excuses for their staff. They said, "he doesn't use headlights because he was trying to find a kid who was riding on electric scooter." That does not sound safe by any means. There are kids and people everywhere. Yes, we shouldn't have music on after quiet hours, but we immediately turned it off. We lost track of time and that is our fault. A staff member flipping out on us by telling them to put their headlights on is not professional at all. He knew we were right and that is why he got defensive. Tried to get the owners to leave us alone after we were quiet, but they kept rehashing the situation. Then the owner guy accused us and said we probably have kids going crazy on electric bikes/scooters (which we don't). We had a great time before this incident. But given the unprofessional staff, staff riding around with no headlights on at night, and high prices, we will not be returning.
