Mykel and his staff were so quick to accommodate any of our needs as a family during the sudden loss of our father. Mykel and his team were diligent in making sure that every detail was tended to; he really went the extra mile. When you lose a loved one, challenges immediately exist, Mykel was able to guide us through some of the complicated decisions a family has to make. He promptly went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were able to make it through this most difficult and precious time. Mykel made sure that the outdoor funeral we knew my father wanted went off without a hitch (even in the rain). He was succinct in offering us guidance based on his experience with my father with respect to the choice of casket, stationary, and so much more. We highly recommend Bratcher's to anyone looking for help during such a challenging time. Losing loved ones is tough - having a professional team serve in such a delicate capacity helps tremendously. I was looking for cremation funeral plans for my oldest brother, and ARMY veteran, who was at the Clyde W. Cosper VA State Home in Bonham, about 45 mintes away. I had all the paperwork and the meeting went really smoothly. Chaz explained everything to me, even when I asked him about having a VETERAN HONOR Service at the National Cematery in Dallas. Chaz took care of everything and removed me from the burden of that task. I felt very comfortable working out all the details of the cremation and funeral plans beforehand. My brother passed on June 7, 2026 at 7pm. The VA State home called American Funeral Services and they were there within the hour to pick up my brother's body. So professional on how that handled removing him from his room to the van outside. Draping an American Flag over his body they wheeled him out in an incredible honor to him. The VA State Home night staff followed us out the building while playing TAPS and....talk about a moment. On Funeral day, Chaz and I planned to meet at the National Cemetary that day. Chaz was very earliy and my brother's remains were laid to rest. I felt so honored and blessed that day.... That was a huge…read morehelp during the difficult aftermath of my father's passing, and Jeff made the process even easier. He worked directly with the funeral home we chose to arrange transportation and, since my sister & I don't live in Sherman, he handled almost everything via phone call or text. He also determined my dad was eligible for military honors and for a reduced price on a grave marker through the VA, and even texted me a photo of what the marker would look like to make sure I was OK with it. When we did have our face-to-face meeting, he was friendly, personable, explained everything in detail, and answered all our questions directly. It seemed clear to me he does his best to avoid adding more stress to a difficult process. I really appreciated his help. Added 7/31/18: It occurred to that me I never reviewed the service I received when my mom passed away 6 months after my dad did. We received the same excellent service from Jeff & his colleagues as I did the first time. He helped us pick out an grave-marker emblem to honor my mom's career as a nurse. And when we've been back to visit we've always found the grounds to be well-maintained.

What this cemetery has become is an absolute embarrassment…read more I understand that this is a final resting place, and that many families may no longer be able to visit or have passed on themselves. But that is no excuse for the lack of upkeep here. The condition is atrocious. I have a large portion of my family buried in this cemetery, and I am appalled by what I saw. There are sunken graves and headstones, broken markers, and the grounds look as if they were just scattered in an overgrown pasture. I have seen small family cemeteries and rural cemeteries maintained with far more care and dignity. I have even seen pet cemeteries kept in better condition. These are people who deserve respect, as do the families who come to pay their respects. Please have some common decency and take responsibility for restoring and properly maintaining this place.
