I read all the reviews. I looked at all the lists. I was staying at the Marriott right next-door to this place. I was leery, but I went. I'm glad I did. At first blush it seems like another place with an identity crisis, sushi, fish, steak house. A nice looking, yet sprawling place with indoor, outdoor and various bar seating. You need to order smart here, but if you do it is very rewarding. The waiter told me of a special, and then told me it was hit or miss tonight, I really appreciated that. I ended up having the grilled whole snapper with Bahama rice and beans and a house salad, it was killer. Hot throughout, and not dry or overcooked, a miracle. As many have done before, I unfairly judge Orlando as a culinary wasteland. I can say without hesitation, this was the best meal I've ever had in Orlando read more

Stopped in for happy hour. Price were ok, not to happy with drinks. Felt like I spent 6 bucks on juice. Calamari could have been much more crispy and the sushi don't seem to be fresh. Nice environment I would give it a second chance based on our experience. Maybe it's better during non happy hour times read more

My husband & I went for the first time last weekend, Wow...we loved it! Sat outside at a small booth type table. Had wonderful service from 2 very good servers. The food was excellant and the atmosphere was great. We will be going there alot more now that we know how good it is. read more

Great food, awesome atmosphere and excellent service. A must have once a month! Can't beat the Happy Hour specials either!

Great seafood and steak. I think the menu is a bit too much since so much looks good and trying to decide can be frustrating. I had the filet which tasted great and was cooked perfect. It is a bit pricey but I guess you expect that from a good steak/seafood place read more

BE HUNGRY! Large portions, marvelous service, and pleasant atmosphere.

Food and service here is great. I only wish the happy hour used to be a little secret. Now everyone knows how great it is and the space fills up fast! read more

I took a client to Fishbones and really enjoyed it. I ordered cedar planked salmon that came with a salad and sides. With a nice Chardonnay. My client ordered shrimp and scallop scampi. Dishes are around $30-$50. For some reason the water did have a weird taste like others mentioned so maybe stick to bottled? read more

I love their happy hour drink specials and the patio is delightful. I like the interior decor. The only food I have had their is the shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and California roll sushi. Out of them all I liked the shrimp tempura. The sushi is okay, not the best I have ever had, not the worst. Definetly a nice go to place with the co-workers or friends. read more

Their hospitality was 10 plus their food was very good. For me I don't eat scallops but theirs was amazing along with their bread. It's worth the money. The atmosphere is very nice. read more

We were back with another couple and experienced the new menu. My favorite dish was gone - the mixed grill - a real disappointment. I had the stuffed black grouper and it was undercooked and a disappointment with mushy lukewarm crab. The service was impeccable as usual. The portions of the new sides are noticeably smaller. The other three entrees including the lamb chops, shrimp and mahi were supposedly great though. I don't see us craving this new themed menu. I think it's out of the special occasion rotation anyway with the great steak and fish options limited now. I see them returning to the old menu or expanding their bar space to keep up with the growing demand for that part of the business. read more

Great great food you definitely get what you pay for went with some coworkers for a training trip and there were no complaints read more

FishBones - Key west fish was perfect - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lake Mary, Florida

Went here with my wife and parents and had a good experience.  The food although expensive is very good.  The service was top notch.  The selection is decent sized too even though the menu may not look big.  There is a decent amount of gluten-free options as you would expect and can make most things gluten-free.  I had the fried Hawaiian trigger fish and it was the best fried fish I've ever had.  Again it's very expensive but you get good quality and tasting food and service. read more

Dined at FishBones with the family. The quality was not very good. We determined out of five dishes, two were just ok and the rest completely missed the mark. With everything said and done, it felt like a meal you'd probably be ok with if you spent half the price, but of course that isn't the case. read more

We went to dinner at Fishbones last night for a birthday dinner for a cousin. Needless to say things didn't go as planned. Our server Austin was amazing, we had no issues with him at all. Our problem was with food quality and the management staff. I ordered a ribeye steak medium to medium well. When it arrived and I cut into it, it was rare as if they just seared the outside and placed it on the plate. The management came over, took the steak, and brought it back to the kitchen to continue the cooking on the same piece of steak. It was brought back to the table. I cut into it and it was still medium rare. I accepted it because I was hungry and didn't want to wait another 15mins to eat while the rest of my party was eating already. Upon eating the steak my stomach started becoming upset. My cousins wife ordered salmon and it was not cooked to her liking as well. The manager came over and asked her if she could bring her something to make up for the dinner. She offered her anything on the menu, and suggested the grilled shrimp. When she received the bill they removed the salmon dinner but then charged her for the shrimp dinner! The manager made it seem as if she was giving it to my cousin for the inconvenience and then charged her for it... unacceptable. When my cousin questioned the charge the manager came over and asked her 3 times what she wanted her to do about it as if she was on trial. It was my first time at fishbones and my last. Food poisoning and bad management has prevented me from ever wanting to go back! read more

I would recommend you save your money and go elsewhere. We dined at the restaurant on Saturday evening to celebrate a birthday. We had a large party of 16 people. Understandably it takes awhile to get the table ready. The reservation was was for 7:30, so it only took a bit for us to be seated. Once we were seated, that's when we should have known it wasn't going to go well. Being a large party typically the server will either be focused on the one table or have a couple other servers help. We had Alex and Mike. We sit down, no menus and even had to ask for a set of plates/utensils for someone in our party. We are asked what we want to drink. I'm not sure since I have no menu. When we finally get menus, we have to share. What restaurant doesn't have enough menus for the table? It wasn't until about an 1 1/2 hours into dinner that I was able to place my order for a glass of moscato. I was brought a rancid, flat, drink that could not be drank. When I told the server he came back to tell me they were all out of the wine. How do you run out of wine, especially when it's the only one of that kind and it's Saturday? Our servers were gone, we rarely saw them and there was little follow up. Probably because of the forced gratuity so he felt he didn't have to work. Some of our party had watered down drinks that they had to server the drink separate from the ice. Build your own drink I suppose. We had to flag down Mike and one of our party asked about ordering and was cut of quickly and told "that comes with dinner." A little after 9 we were able to place our orders. I received a salad soaked in dressing that was inedible. They brought two baskets of bread for a party of 16? There should have been at least 3 or 4. Dinner finally came around 10 pm (keep in mind we had a 7:30ish seating). The horseradish tasted like 100% sour cream. One person ordered lamb chops to be greeted with what looked like lamb steaks. My prime rib was 1/3 fat. Overall it was way overpriced for the quality of the dining experience. I don't think you should waste your money or time. read more

Service is outstanding, the food not so much. Fried gator appetizer was good. Tender and nicely flavored dipping sauce. House salad is simple salad greens saturated in a house dressing that tasted like Cesar dressing which is not my favorite. The house rolls are awful - soft roll with cheese melted on it leaving a cheesy gooey mess. Husband had jumbo fried shrimp which looked big only because they were butterflied. Whipped potatoes were brownish. I had shrimp and chicken. The restaurant is known for its grilled food but the char on the chicken breast was way too much; it was like you licked the bbq grill grates. The baked potato was served with cheese, sour cream and partially burned bacon. Waiter fixes the potato table side which was not impressive. I was less impressed when he used his hands to push down on the potato before topping it. The garnishes were very elementary - an overly grilled slice of canned pineapple with a cherry on top of the chicken. The plate was then garnished with a handful of chopped red cabbage and a lemon slice. Really missed the mark here! read more

Place is beautiful and the staff very attentive. Half of our 9 meals were ok the other had to be sent back. Steak was over seasoned and seafood was bland. Went there to celebrate our parents anniversary and the experience was ok just food could've been better. read more

This usw to be my favorite until they ruined my 16th Wedding Anniversary. Never again. The waiter we had was not very knowledgeable.Everything took so long to get on between salad and meal. We had a party of six. I chose those place due to the food and memories i had made in the past. 3 people ordered steak when it came it was charred black the inside was made to perfection. But the steak had a horrible taste due to the char. My husband never tried and sent it back.Tje otjer two ate as much as they could stand not much. A different excellent waiter came up saw we were upset and came up with a great compromise to stray on grill but finish in oven. But that meant waiting more we were there like 3 hours. Deink were on point. The manager was rude ans insisted they always cook them this way. They took one steak off our bill. So my husband left witj eating nothing very disappointed. We stikl soent $500. We tipped according to our service and food. And we heard them discussing the little tip they got thats how rude our waiter was. We expected so much more. Belive me om sure im not tje only one. Seafood was excellent. My advice to Fish Bones stick to what you know Seafood. Train the wait staff better and get rid of the manager he should know better. Unfortunately we will not be coming back. I will be sure to share my expierence read more

Raised in Orlando area for over 40 years. 20+ in a industry that served all restaurants. This place is the BEST hand down.

This is a good but not great restaurant. While tons of ambience some servers could have a much better understanding of the wines they are selling. Additionally the food is good but the greatness the premium pricing charged is not realized by the food served. read more

The macadamia crusted mahi mahi was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be coming back! Finished the meal off with some delicious key lime pie. Great night, decent service... read more

I am reposting my reivew because I do not see it - perhaps it was removed - what happened to freedom of speech? STOP!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND Dined on 7/10/2013 for my husbands birthday. Following is our impression of our dining experience: Ambience/Decor: FAIL! - felt like we were walking into a banquet hall. Food: FAIL! Lobster Bisque - worst we have ever had - predominantely tasted like flour. Salads with goat cheese dressing - just ok. Stuffed black grouper ($40 dish) - horrible, fish was not cooked through, just awful from presentation of the dish to taste. Really you dare serve this for $40? Aged steak; Meh definately not worth the money. Manager offered to bring me another entree (so I waited while my husband continued eating his dinner alone) - I requested the stuffed shrimp and scallops but that is not what I received. I was too disgusted to even let her know that this was the wrong dish. I was given what I think was the shrimp and scallop scampi - I've had better at a Fridays! During this time our waitress simply disappeared - we sat with our dirty dishes in front of us for over 15 minutes. There are many better restaurants in the area. read more

Great service and a wonderful experience. My wife took me for my birthday and I will certainly be going back soon.

Just average food. Had the dragon roll, salmon, mahi mahi, shrimp, scampi, and prime rib (not all for me). It wasn't the best I've ever had. Great service but average food - my husband's prime rib was more like a pot roast. The cheesy bread was more like undercooked pizza dough. read more

FishBones - Not the best prime rib - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lake Mary, Florida

Way over priced and awful service. Not as good as celebrity chef restaurants. Portions are small. Food was tasty but unworthy of the high prices. Server rarely checked on our table. The plank salmon wasn't cooked and took longer to come back done than it took to arrive in the first place. Not going back read more

Amazing happy hour sushi! Really well priced and nice size rolls! The volcano roll was my favorite one !

I ate here once. I thought it was good but a bit pricey. And I always eat at fine dining.

This is possibly the worst food I have ever had. I ordered a stake with mashed potatoes and waited for more than an hour. When I got my food it tasted like they just got the meat and poured random spices in it, same with the mashed potatoes. The next day I woke up with a stomach issue and pretty much lived on the toilet. Thank You so much FishBones read more

Went there for my birthday last night and it was phenomenal! As good a meal as I've had in a long time. Definitely recommend the calamari and my 24oz Porterhouse was soooo good! The Grand Marnier chocolate cake was too much at the end but not because it wasn't delicious but because it was HUGE! Nick, our server, made the night great as well. Can't wait to go back again! read more

We chose Fish Bones to celebrate our anniversary this year. We had not previously eaten at a Fish Bones restaurant. My wife had some sort of grapefruit Mojito that was as refreshing as it was tasty. Our server Shengyu was very friendly and attentive. The appetizer and entrees were good (we both had the fried shrimp) but not spectacular but it's hard to do spectacular with fried shrimp. Next time I'll be having a steak and a few more of the Mojitos. read more

We had not been here in several months, and things have changed for the worse. We were a party of 8, and requested a round table. They apparently have none. We were seated promptly at a long narrow table so it was not possible to talk to anyone except the person next to you or directly across. A minor quibble, but irritating none the less. The place was not crowded at 7 on Saturday night. A bad omen. The service was decent, but far from exceptional for the price range of the offerings. $40 for Mahi is a bit outrageous. The fish was nice, but nothing special. We had the potato/blue cheese chips as one appetizer, not that good, and not many chips. , and for $9 I expected much better. Dexter's kills it with their chips for much less The fish dip was poor. They used to make the house salad tableside, and it was great. Now they take it out of the fridge and toss it on a plate in the kitchen. Mediocre salad. Their special bread was not very special at all. The entrees arrived 4 at a time, with almost 5 minutes between the first 4 and the second. That is ridiculous at a place that claims to be high end. The trout was not as good at Bonefish, and much more expensive. My tuna arrived raw, and loaded with white stringy fibers that should have been removed for $42. They did take it back, but after another long wait, I told the waiter never mind. He did convince me to take to go, and took off the charge. That was a nice touch, and the fish was delicious the next day. Thanks Clint. The table behind us had similar problems, and our waiter kept apologizing for the problems, which he seemed to know were many and varied. The place is lovely, and used to be a real favorite, but with what has happened to the menu and quality of food, I don't see us returning. There are way to many restaurants in the Lake Mary area that are far superior. We were considering Ruth's Chris which is across the street, and it is always good, but our out of town friends wanted seafood. I'm guessing next time they visit, we go for somewhere else. Very disappointed, and so was our waiter, and not that he did not deserve a good tip, but 18% for parties of over 6 is not what a classy place does. 8 or more maybe. We are very experienced foodies, and have lived in the area for decades, so take my advise and steer clear, at least for now. It was a very disappointing dinner unfortunately. read more

For a fancy seafood specialty restaurant. This was the worst!! My husband took me for my b-day. I wanted the whole snapper like I had in the Bahamas. It was undercooked. Little seasoning, bland. My husband ordered the stuffed black grouper w/lump crab and shrimp. It wasn't stuffed, but topped w/a sauce w/a teaspoon of crab and had the mini Salad shrimp you get from a can. For $38?? Terrible. Thought maybe it was the chef of the night. But I sent a comment on their website w/no response. So I guess this is the normal. Talked w/many others and they told me their experience wasn't much better. read more

The server Alex was excellent. He was very knowledgable about the whole menu (including drinks) and recommended a few items. He was a great example of A1 customer service! The manager Mark came out a few times to introduce us to the restaurant and checked up on how the food was. He was also very hospitable during our visit. Will definitely come back and recommend Fishbones to all my friends!! read more

Party of 12 on Saturday night. 4 people ordered the Prime Rib and all of them came out cold and had to be sent back for warming. $3.00 upcharge for basic things like a baked potato. The entree's were pricey and there wasnt one thing that anyone in our party had that I would order again with the exception of dessert. The staff ended up comp-ing a couple of our meals. One ordered the Mahi and it was very overcooked.... Oh, yeah... happy hour that exists in the bar doesnt extend to the dining area according to our waiter. Very disappointed, dont waste your money. read more

Absolutely treated the worst I've ever been treated in my life by another customer and then the managers, Jarred and Micheal. Went to the restroom where all stalls were opened except the handicapped one. I said "crap there must be a handicapped person in the stall" when the lady standing in the bathroom proceeded to curse me out and call me names and let me know that was her daughter in the stall(maybe 6-7 years old and not handicapped). She also then stood between me and the stall and said " I hope you break your other leg"( if she would have stopped cursing me out for a split second she would have noticed both legs already are broken that's why I'm on a knee scooter and need the handicapped bathroom). once she left, as I'm still in restroom she sought out my husband and proceeded to yell and curse at him. He ignored her. Later on in the evening she verbally assaulted me again. this time I told a manager, Jarred, who said she's a good customer and comes here 4 times a week, and blamed us for the problem. At that point we were trying to get the check as quickly as possible and I will never step foot in here again. Her husband then proceeded to come at us along with the manager Michael who also defended this behavior towards a handicapped person. Absolutely disgusting behavior by representatives of Fish Bones. read more

Second bad experience. First all the food came out at the same time, about two minutes between salad and entree. Ordered the ribeye which came out warm not hot and all that I tasted was smoke flavor. They removed all the sauces you could get on your steaks which were great, now gone! Sides are now extra, fries for $5. They were not that good. My husband and I shared the entree and the meal still was over $100. Will not return! read more

Started off great. Happening food with great ambiance and decor. Something went wrong with our order, I don't know what since they never explained it, but we waited about 90 minutes for our dinner. I know things happen, whatever, we roll with it, but the waiter avoided our table during this time, didn't refill our water, or take additional drink orders. Manager comped us a whole 2 drinks on a $250 bill. There's a LOT of places nearby where I can spend half that and get service far superior to FishBones', so I'll just go there for our special occasions from now on. Very, very poor service, not returning. read more

Great happy hour! Looking forward to coming back over and over!!

Been here many times. But not lately. It really is overpriced for what you get. What you will get is great service. Maybe the best table side service in seminole county. Meat dishes are overpriced for quality (Ruth Chris across the street has a better steak and for cheaper) and fish is 'meh'. Nothing that will knock your socks off. This is an expensive meal, especially if you add some beverages (alcohol) to your night. The only part of this that I can not lend my opinion to is the sushi bar. Which I hope to try in due time. The rest I will continue to pass on. 2 Stars. read more
