I started out with Joe's blueberry lemonade cocktail and it was a little sweeter than I would have liked but it was good. The wedge salad was so good, huge pieces of bacon. Got one of the specials for the night the Swordfish steak and shrimp. The flavors were top notch. And to end the evening had to get the key lime pie. It was so big I could not eat the whole thing. Place was across the street from my hotel so I walked over had dinner with some work colleagues Was seated immediately and greeted by server promptly. Had an old fashioned while I waited for my dinner companions. Menu had lots of great stuff including unlimited salad. For my entree I had the special, swordfish with 2 shrimp. I added broccoli as my side and had some salad. Started with salmon sashimi as an appetizer Salmon was fresh and delicious. Salad was good but didn't care much for the dressing. Swordfish was amazing, cooked well and the sauce was tasty. Broccoli was good with garlic in it Service was great, friendly and made some solid recommendations. Had an amazing time tonight have dinner with my sweetheart at FishBones. We tried the Chief's Combo and ordered the Parmesan Crusted Salmon and the Fried Grouper. Our server was Bob. Super great, friendly and made sure everything was perfect. At now time did we ever feel rushed. Our Calamari appetizer was delicious. We enjoyed some conversation with drinks. Our dinner arrived and everything was absolutely delicious. Also got an order of Bang Bang Shrimp. Such a great experience. The atmosphere here is definitely relaxed but also a little sophisticated. Dark woods, fish tanks, metal sea turtles, water features, big tables and well dressed staff. Upon entering you will be greeted and seated by friendly hostesses. I have only enjoyed happy hour here. The oysters are delicious and the dang bang shrimp! I would not recommend the sushi, not a standout. The drinks are delicious and heavy pours! I would recommend the HH old fashioned and Hawaiian martini. It is more expensive than other establishments, but it's an experience and the service and quality of food are excellent ! Interestingly, at the time I am writing this review, the stars did not get into the "red zone". Meaning, I was expecting less and instead got more coming here. Service was outstanding across the board. This is true from the main waiter to one of the managers that kept checking in, to someone else who also checked in on our table. First timer? Here is a special something to cleanse your palate before the main meal. Oh, here is a $25 gift certificate for next time, too. The ambiance is great as well. From passing the open kitchen and grill to the overall feel of the dining areas. The house salad was bottomless (though one serving was good enough for me), and the special fish of the day, a Hawaiian triggerfish lightly blackened, was amazing. I was really impressed with my experience at this restaurant!! The service was amazing from the hosts, the bartender, and also our server too. We also appreciated that the manager came by to check on us as well. The ambiance is perfect for a family dinner or celebratory outing. They also have beautiful outdoor seating for days when it's not too hot or raining. I was so happy they brought out the food for the kids within just a few minutes of ordering. For the main entrees the fish was cooked to perfection! This place can get pricey because you have to order the sides separately. But they're shareable so that's always nice. Yes I did drive 3:16hrs to come to FishBones, why not enjoy my last meal at an upscale dining experience. My waitress Coren Totally made my experience worth the drive. Coren you deserve PINEAPPLE hospitality recognition. I was of course nervous since my drive was super last minute and I missed 5 opportunities to dine here. I made reservations 30min. before opening and followed a manager to my reserved table. I did cigar on the patio and Happy Hour and let Coren know I'm on tight budget. She never pressured me to choose different dishes or show any judgement, instead she kept me at a bracket of sticking to what I am able to afford. Yes, she recommended other selections of cuisines, but lol I went to Charley's Steakhouse 3x and they have similar menus, plus why eat steak at seafood restaurant. ANYWHO I'm at a seafood restaurant, Coren recommended Summershine Roll (the roll on HH with real snow crab meat) paired with a Pinot Noir juicy and sweet (cannot remember the name). Dudeee the pairing with sushi totally enhance the flavors of the masago and fresh salmon, and snow crab meat everything made sense my tastebuds were sooo satisfied. I tried her favorite Pinot Noir Ken Wright Oregon and I definitely enjoyed, Coren tasteful recommendations and not many waitresses know pairings of drinks and dishes. Told hostess when I arrive Coren please and thank you. Atmosphere is lovely. Guests are happy. Spoke to a couple who dine there for 15yrs and mentioned Coren is the best. PINEAPPLE hospitality earned, did I mentioned Coren acted fast and prevent us from getting wet by the rain?! Service is absolutely horrible for the high prices! The automatic gratuity caused servers to care less. Very disappointing. Do not go!

We were a party of 10. As such, the server was guaranteed a 21% gratuity and it showed. It took 10 minutes for him to take drink orders upon being seated, we had to ask for pepper on our soups and salad, side dishes to share were cold as they waited so long to serve them, and it was a full 15 minutes between finishing and an inquiry about dessert. Then another 10 minutes to inquire about dessert. By that time, the mood had passed. For the $900 plus price tag including $167 in gratuity, I would not go in a large party. There is no incentive to provide outstanding service! I reported this to management and supposedly a $150 gift card was coming my way, to no avail. Terrible customer service. After having visited the restaurant several times before, I thought it would be nice to take my employees to a nice Christmas dinner. The quality of food prepared was subpar for the cost of each plate. It was very disappointing because the waiter charged $130 in gratuities, but did not provided $130 in service. There are several choices available to go to in Lake Mary. I am not sure that I would spend money to go to the restaurant again! I love to post photos of my meals and experiences. I had dinner last night at FishBones in Lake Mary, Florida for our annual company Christmas party. The food was exceptional. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. We had a private room and the service matched the same level as the food. I had the Surf n Turf special a Center Cut Filet with a Panko Crusted Lobster Tail, the steak cooked a perfect medium rare with a generous topping of truffle butter. Prior to the man course I had a Yellowtail Sashimi appetizer, it was super fresh and tasty. We ordered several shareable sides for the table, all of them amazing. Lobster Mac & Cheese, Cedar Plank Cauliflower, Mushrooms, all perfect pairings to this great meal. We were excited to try Fishbones, and upon arrival, we were seated quickly, which made me think things were off to a good start. Our server, Dylan, did a great job and brought us house cheese bread to start. We began with two salads before moving on to our entrées--I ordered the center-cut filet mignon medium-well-- it was under cooked....while my husband had the black grouper with a side of broccoli. Unfortunately, his fish was overcooked, of course he left and didn't mention it. I paired my meal with a cosmopolitan martini, and my husband ordered a glass of wine, which never arrived. However, we were still charged for it, and I had to ask for the charge to be removed from our bill. I also noticed that a nearby table had an issue with their steak not being cooked to the requested doneness. As we were leaving, I mentioned this to the manager because she seemed frustrated with our server. I made sure to clarify that the issue wasn't with Dylan but with the kitchen staff, who should be ensuring that steaks are cooked as ordered--especially at a steakhouse where you're paying a premium for quality. While they did re-cook my steak, they didn't provide a new one; instead, they simply cooked the same piece further and added some truffle butter. ( I didn't even get a picture. Amazing food and great service! I started my meal with the Lady Dragon sushi roll. It was an interesting roll, delicious, and had a huge portion of crab on top. I opted for the house salad over Caesar. For my entree I chose the special, which was an 8oz filet mignon with shrimp scampi. My steak was cooked perfectly and the truffle butter added a ton of flavor. The cedar plank cauliflower was by far my favorite side dish. At this point I was already pretty full, but I saved some room for a crab claw. Overall a great experience, and will definitely try to save room for dessert next time. read more

The service and servers were amazing, super attentive and kind. The ambiance was a little outdated with no music and felt just like any regular restaurant. For food we shared some appetizers, the spicy doh me tuna role and the calamari which were okay. I've had tuna rolls that were bigger and fresher. Calamari was good nothing out of this world. For a meal we shared the filet with a side of lobster Mac and cheese. I'd say the filet was great quality cooked well with tasty butter. Mac and cheese was not worth $30.00 it didn't much lobster to justify the price. Lastly, we drank espressos martinis which tasted like White Russians and way too chocolatey. The Food The menu is solid, but there are a few absolute standouts you shouldn't miss: Appetizers: The Bang Bang Shrimp has just the right amount of kick, and the Grouper Bites are fresh, crispy, and perfect for sharing. The Perks: I love that dinner still includes the "classics"--you get a fresh salad and those addictive yeast rolls topped with melted cheese. Honestly, I could eat a basket of those rolls alone. The bang bang shrimp, perfectly seasoned in a delicious sauce! The entrees are enormous! Most of us ordered the Combo meal that comes with two main courses and sides. You would think they would cut back on the portions since you are getting two courses, but this restaurant is spectacular that you are served two huge servings of main courses. Most of the people did the Trigger fish and Fried shrimp combo. They loved it! Fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fried shrimp were enormous and plentiful! I had the super thick perfectly juicy cooked pork chop and fried shrimp combo. The super thick and juicy pork chop is a meal by itself! Super tender, juicy and flavorful! (definitely not how my mom would cook them) The desserts are a wonderful finish to a gourmet night of dining. Strawberry cake and bread pudding were simply delicious! The service was spectacular! Food was good. (Not sure that the happy hour deals are actually a "deal" with sushi rolls being $14-17.) We were seated out and there was a performer singing which made it hard to hear conversations. It was also very hot and there weren't many fans out there if any. If we had been out there for a shorter time, the temperature/ humidity would have been ok... but when it came time to get our checks, it took an hour from finally finding the server (flirting with another server), to getting them (extra 20% for parties over 6 with the option to give MORE LOL - and other add- on charges, and having corrections made on happy hour drinks. The happy hour drinks that were ordered were NOT the happy hour drinks (even though we ordered off that menu).... And finally an hour later the checks were received and resolved. Fishbones has a great classic steakhouse/seafood vibe, with really impressive decor and an awesome fishtank. They have a great happy hour throughout the week from 4-6 pm, the french dip sandwich is only on the happy hour menu and it is delicious! The beef is very fresh and the au jus is literally some of the best I've ever had. I also love their bang bang shrimp, you get a ton and they are crispy and juicy. The bartenders here are really great and very knowledgeable, we especially love Nikki and Casey! The drinks are delicious, very generous and a good price. I love their steaks, and the cheesy garlic rolls are so good. I have found the fish to be a little hit or miss and I hate their caeser salad, it's the old school type where they give you 5 full pieces of romaine with stuff drizzled over. I truly like an open kitchen because it speaks to confidence & cleanliness. We started with an incredible sushi roll so fresh and succulent. We then ordered our entrées which come with a salad (which is delightful) and for a slight up charge, you can get a massive wedge. They aren't holding on to the "covid cutbacks" model many restaurants still adhere to. I had the grouper français which was succulent & tender with the caper in a light sauce. My husband had shrimp and grouper, and my son had the lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. Our à la carte side dish was sweet potatoes soufflé which was reminiscent of a healthier version of grandma's Thanksgiving. The service was excellent. Even the prices were not outrageous only $5 extra for truffle butter. We've been twice in both times were excellent and we are foodies with a culinary school palate. read more

After puffing cigars and waiting out the rain, someone suggested we check out FishBones for dinner... and let me tell you... this place absolutely delivered. Stopped by Fishbones for a quick drink while we waited for our table at Terramia. My wife and I asked for two glasses of the house Pinot Noir. Shocked when we received a bill for $49 plus tip. I travel a lot for work and I can't recall the last time I paid $25 for a glass of house wine. In comparison, paid $70 for a fill bottle of Companna 2022 at Terramia which was delicious. I got nauseous after finishing it and I am not sure if maybe the seafood was a little old or if there was something else but the seafood sauce that was on the top that had actual seafood in it tasted a little off to me. We also had the bang bang shrimp, and that honestly was the best thing ever if I were to go back. I would probably order that again and the oysters Rockefeller, which I didn't get to try the service was great unfortunately you do have to sit either at the bar inside or on the patio outside in order to eat the happy hour food. It did start raining and our server was very quick to move us to a different table so that we weren't getting wet, but I do feel like you should be able to just sit at a normal table to eat happy hour food and there shouldn't be designated areas for it but outside of that I would go back. read more

My family and I have been going to Fishbones for years (for every birthday, anniversary and milestone celebration, this is our go to). Under the latest management, this has clearly become a profits-over-customer establishment. The customer is never right here, the staff is. We've had issues with reservations, the hostesses, and the overall service recently that made us decide that we will no longer choose Fishbones to be the place at which we'll celebrate. The Plant City strawberry cake is THEEEEE best strawberry cake I've ever had. Would love to have an entire cake for my next Bornday. Divine! I love fish bones because they make their cocktails from scratch. If it has juice in the recipe, they will juice that fruit before serving it to you and this makes all the difference in the world. I will continue to come here as long as they continue to juice, everything rather than serving us processed juice from concentrates.
