Coren you deserve PINEAPPLE hospitality recognition. I was of course nervous since my drive was super last minute and I missed 5 opportunities to dine here. I made reservations 30min. before opening and followed a manager to my reserved table. I did cigar on the patio and Happy Hour and let Coren know I'm on tight budget. She never pressured me to choose different dishes or show any judgement, instead she kept me at a bracket of sticking to what I am able to afford. Yes, she recommended other selections of cuisines, but lol I went to Charley's Steakhouse 3x and they have similar menus, plus why eat steak at seafood restaurant. ANYWHO I'm at a seafood restaurant, Coren recommended Summershine Roll (the roll on HH with real snow crab meat) paired with a Pinot Noir juicy and sweet (cannot remember the name). Dudeee the pairing with sushi totally enhance the flavors of the masago and fresh salmon, and snow crab meat everything made sense my tastebuds were sooo satisfied. I tried her favorite Pinot Noir Ken Wright Oregon and I definitely enjoyed, Coren tasteful recommendations and not many waitresses know pairings of drinks and dishes. Told hostess when I arrive Coren please and thank you. Atmosphere is lovely. Guests are happy. Spoke to a couple who dine there for 15yrs and mentioned Coren is the best. Beautiful restaurant and delicious food and drink choices for happy hour! The decor is reminiscent of an era that has passed but in the best way. Dark woods, fish tanks, metal sea turtles, water features, big tables and well dressed staff. Upon entering you will be greeted and seated by friendly hostesses. I have only enjoyed happy hour here. The oysters are delicious and the dang bang shrimp! I would not recommend the sushi, not a standout. The drinks are delicious and heavy pours! I would recommend the HH old fashioned and Hawaiian martini. It is more expensive than other establishments, but it's an experience and the service and quality of food are excellent ! I'm not sure what's not to like about Fish Bones? Maybe the ambience is slightly outdated, but I find it charming and nostalgic with the vintage fishing rods and salty decor! I truly like an open kitchen because it speaks to confidence & cleanliness. We started with an incredible sushi roll so fresh and succulent. We then ordered our entrées which come with a salad (which is delightful) and for a slight up charge, you can get a massive wedge. They aren't holding on to the "covid cutbacks" model many restaurants still adhere to. I had the grouper français which was succulent & tender with the caper in a light sauce. My husband had shrimp and grouper, and my son had the lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. Our à la carte side dish was sweet potatoes soufflé which was reminiscent of a healthier version of grandma's Thanksgiving. The service was excellent. It was also very hot and there weren't many fans out there if any. If we had been out there for a shorter time, the temperature/ humidity would have been ok... but when it came time to get our checks, it took an hour from finally finding the server (flirting with another server), to getting them (extra 20% for parties over 6 with the option to give MORE LOL - and other add- on charges, and having corrections made on happy hour drinks. The happy hour drinks that were ordered were NOT the happy hour drinks (even though we ordered off that menu).... And finally an hour later the checks were received and resolved. From passing the open kitchen and grill to the overall feel of the dining areas. I was really impressed with my experience at this restaurant!! The service was amazing from the hosts, the bartender, and also our server too. We also appreciated that the manager came by to check on us as well. The ambiance is perfect for a family dinner or celebratory outing. They also have beautiful outdoor seating for days when it's not too hot or raining. I was so happy they brought out the food for the kids within just a few minutes of ordering. For the main entrees the fish was cooked to perfection! This place can get pricey because you have to order the sides separately. But they're shareable so that's always nice. After having visited the restaurant several times before, I thought it would be nice to take my employees to a nice Christmas dinner. The quality of food prepared was subpar for the cost of each plate. It was very disappointing because the waiter charged $130 in gratuities, but did not provided $130 in service. There are several choices available to go to in Lake Mary. I am not sure that I would spend money to go to the restaurant again! I love to post photos of my meals and experiences. I was very disappointed, as I brought 5 of my team members for our first outting as a team. I had dinner last night at FishBones in Lake Mary, Florida for our annual company Christmas party. The food was exceptional. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. We had a private room and the service matched the same level as the food. I had the Surf n Turf special a Center Cut Filet with a Panko Crusted Lobster Tail, the steak cooked a perfect medium rare with a generous topping of truffle butter. Prior to the man course I had a Yellowtail Sashimi appetizer, it was super fresh and tasty. We ordered several shareable sides for the table, all of them amazing. Lobster Mac & Cheese, Cedar Plank Cauliflower, Mushrooms, all perfect pairings to this great meal. We were excited to try Fishbones, and upon arrival, we were seated quickly, which made me think things were off to a good start. Our server, Dylan, did a great job and brought us house cheese bread to start. We began with two salads before moving on to our entrées--I ordered the center-cut filet mignon medium-well-- it was under cooked....while my husband had the black grouper with a side of broccoli. Unfortunately, his fish was overcooked, of course he left and didn't mention it. I paired my meal with a cosmopolitan martini, and my husband ordered a glass of wine, which never arrived. However, we were still charged for it, and I had to ask for the charge to be removed from our bill. I also noticed that a nearby table had an issue with their steak not being cooked to the requested doneness. As we were leaving, I mentioned this to the manager because she seemed frustrated with our server. I made sure to clarify that the issue wasn't with Dylan but with the kitchen staff, who should be ensuring that steaks are cooked as ordered--especially at a steakhouse where you're paying a premium for quality. While they did re-cook my steak, they didn't provide a new one; instead, they simply cooked the same piece further and added some truffle butter. ( I didn't even get a picture. Amazing food and great service! I started my meal with the Lady Dragon sushi roll. It was an interesting roll, delicious, and had a huge portion of crab on top. I opted for the house salad over Caesar. For my entree I chose the special, which was an 8oz filet mignon with shrimp scampi. My steak was cooked perfectly and the truffle butter added a ton of flavor. The cedar plank cauliflower was by far my favorite side dish. At this point I was already pretty full, but I saved some room for a crab claw. Overall a great experience, and will definitely try to save room for dessert next time. read more

Stopped by Fishbones for a quick drink while we waited for our table at Terramia. My wife and I asked for two glasses of the house Pinot Noir. Shocked when we received a bill for $49 plus tip. I travel a lot for work and I can't recall the last time I paid $25 for a glass of house wine. In comparison, paid $70 for a fill bottle of Companna 2022 at Terramia which was delicious. For food we shared some appetizers, the spicy doh me tuna role and the calamari which were okay. I've had tuna rolls that were bigger and fresher. Calamari was good nothing out of this world. For a meal we shared the filet with a side of lobster Mac and cheese. I'd say the filet was great quality cooked well with tasty butter. Mac and cheese was not worth $30.00 it didn't much lobster to justify the price. Lastly, we drank espressos martinis which tasted like White Russians and way too chocolatey. The bang bang shrimp, perfectly seasoned in a delicious sauce! The entrees are enormous! Most of us ordered the Combo meal that comes with two main courses and sides. You would think they would cut back on the portions since you are getting two courses, but this restaurant is spectacular that you are served two huge servings of main courses. Most of the people did the Trigger fish and Fried shrimp combo. They loved it! Fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fried shrimp were enormous and plentiful! I had the super thick perfectly juicy cooked pork chop and fried shrimp combo. The super thick and juicy pork chop is a meal by itself! Super tender, juicy and flavorful! Fishbones has a great classic steakhouse/seafood vibe, with really impressive decor and an awesome fishtank. They have a great happy hour throughout the week from 4-6 pm, the french dip sandwich is only on the happy hour menu and it is delicious! The beef is very fresh and the au jus is literally some of the best I've ever had. I also love their bang bang shrimp, you get a ton and they are crispy and juicy. The bartenders here are really great and very knowledgeable, we especially love Nikki and Casey! The drinks are delicious, very generous and a good price. I love their steaks, and the cheesy garlic rolls are so good. I have found the fish to be a little hit or miss and I hate their caeser salad, it's the old school type where they give you 5 full pieces of romaine with stuff drizzled over. The lobster tail was tough-chewy-under severely low quality! The steak was average! The service was excellent and the appetizers were great! But the main course was lacking! Oh and also the temperature in restauran was an uncomfortable sweaty experience- they choose not to use better tinted windows in FLORIDA for an entire corner of restauran that has 6 massive glass windows! We both had the special which was a fish and shrimp combo with Cajun sauce. The unlimited salad and bread was fantastic. I actually had a second helping of their chopped salad. The second round of drinks I had a prickly pear spicy margarita and I would easily have that again! Wow! My friend opted for a Cabernet and she loved Heather's recommendation on which to get. We ate and chatted and eventually I ordered dessert. My friend, who doesn't typically get dessert, ate half of the butter cake! She legit finished my other half! I was surprised. We both loved it. It was crunchy yet gooey and the whipped cream and vanilla ice cream were perfect additions to the dish. So yum!!! We took the remaining halves of our entrees home- heather boxed those up for us tableside. We sat for 3.5 hours and we were never rushed out. In fact, heather kept our waters full even after we paid. After puffing cigars and waiting out the rain, someone suggested we check out FishBones for dinner... and let me tell you... this place absolutely delivered. Rain may have kept us indoors, but the experience was five-star all the way. I was craving prime rib, but sadly... no dice that night. So I went with the Colorado Lamb Chops... and wow. The seasoning was perfect, and that parsley mint chimichurri sauce was a bold move that totally paid off. My chops were a bit smaller than what someone else at the table got... but every bite packed serious flavor. For sides, we shared creamed corn and the loaded lobster mac and cheese... and when I say loaded... I mean it. Big, beautiful chunks of lobster with a cheesy crust that held everything together like a warm seafood hug. The creamed corn was solid... smooth without turning into mush. A couple of the Brothers ordered the triggerfish special... and when it hit the table, even I turned my head. It came with shrimp on the side... and yes, I stole one. Worth it. We went for happy hour, and the drinks were really good. The roll was a little weird. I got nauseous after finishing it and I am not sure if maybe the seafood was a little old or if there was something else but the seafood sauce that was on the top that had actual seafood in it tasted a little off to me. We also had the bang bang shrimp, and that honestly was the best thing ever if I were to go back. I would probably order that again and the oysters Rockefeller, which I didn't get to try the service was great unfortunately you do have to sit either at the bar inside or on the patio outside in order to eat the happy hour food. It did start raining and our server was very quick to move us to a different table so that we weren't getting wet, but I do feel like you should be able to just sit at a normal table to eat happy hour food and there shouldn't be designated areas for it but outside of that I would go back. read more

My family and I have been going to Fishbones for years (for every birthday, anniversary and milestone celebration, this is our go to). Under the latest management, this has clearly become a profits-over-customer establishment. The customer is never right here, the staff is. The Plant City strawberry cake is THEEEEE best strawberry cake I've ever had. Would love to have an entire cake for my next Bornday. Divine! I love fish bones because they make their cocktails from scratch. If it has juice in the recipe, they will juice that fruit before serving it to you and this makes all the difference in the world. We have been repeat guest over the years but this past year- customer service is lacking. Steve- the WAITER is fantastic but the other staff on hand (host and management) is just not anything to sing about. Unfortunately the manager is unhelpful- offering her words of apologies (I do believe she is sorry she cant help us) but the team is unwilling to accept a called in order. We Received an holiday gift card, which the website for ordering online does not accept. We were advised to pay with our card and then get a refund which is bad business. We then called to see if we can pay over the phone or place our order over the phone and were refused. It's that or walk away OR drive in, order in person, wait 30 minutes to get your order, why? Also, the online ordering platform enforced (not optional) a $20 tip. I tip for good service and do not like to be forced to pay regardless. I apologize, but I do not want to pay company employees when the company should be paying a competitive wage AND Ill tip if I'd like. Its to go! I understand the chef is cooking the food and the host are bagging the food- so is McDonalds' employees but they are not collecting a mandatory $20 tip for bagging my order. I am a generous tipper but Ill go elsewhere for respect. We choose to walk away and go to another Talk of the Town restaurant. This was the second day in a row we were having troubles.
