Fishbones has a wonderful happy hour from 5-6:30pm! They have select $4 cocktails, $5-$9 apps, and sushi rolls. I believe Sapporo is the only draft beer in their hh selection. You can either sit out at the patio, bar area, or sushi bar. The patio is the primo area so that always gets packed first. I find the bar area soothing as there's a beautiful fish tank as a backdrop to the bar. You'll also notice that with every sip of your adult beverage the fishes begin to stare at you for either judgement or help. Dinner wise the selection and price point is extremely reasonable. An example are the porkchops for $23 ish. These porkchops are the size of my face and looked really meaty! My partner ordered the ahi tuna entree and the portion was just as generous as well. For myself, I ordered the bronzed chilean sea bass, which is always a nice splurge! The sides are underwhelming though, especially the orzo. It was served as a sweet, fluffy pilaf style type of deal. Side note, the manager here is such a wonderful, fun person! Usually, I hate it when restaurant managers come around in their suits and ask you in their stern, deep man voice of blah blah blah how is everything, but not meant it. Well, not here! Melvin (sp?) , keeps it real and lighthearted. He made sure my table was having fun during hh and then still checked on us when we moved over to the dining area. Yep, definitely adding Fishbones to the places that didn't disappoint so you need to come back list. read more

We dined at FishBones for the first time in nearly a year to celebrate my wife's birthday. The general ambience is wonderful; the service a bit too attentive. The food is far from where it should be given the price for individual items. All of our salads were mushy and tasted preprepared (e.g.., soggy lettuce). My wife's crab cakes were mushy with none of the desired firmness usually expected; I ordered the lobster 'special'...the portion was exceptional (as was the nearly $90 unpublished price on the menu); however, it was far too chewy (likely was a Fl vs a Maine lobster) and a few pieces contained the lobster shell pieces unnoticed until it was in my mouth. Given the $400+ bill, I will likely never return to this restaurant in the future...price is a poor match for the lack of quality. Dr. MDR read more

The drinks are good but today all of our food was incredibly salty. Like too salty. We were drinking bottles of water afterwards. We told the waiter but they didn't seem to care. They raised the prices which would be fine if they had better tasting food. They shouldn't over salt like that. It taste terrible. The salads need better dressing too. Not everyone likes 4 strong tasting dressings. Offer ranch or a non olive vinegar based dressing. Something that is kid friendly. We never had this problem before with the food. Could be a fluke but I thought I would let you know. Hopefully they check how many times they are salting the meats considering you're paying good money. We didn't even eat the meat they served. It was that bad. read more

Had dinner had dinner with a friend to celebrate her birthday on 9/9/23 . Unfortunately not a good experience . I ordered a Tito's on the rocks and received my drink with crushed ice. It was almost like drinking a Slurpee instead of an adult beverage . My dinner entree , the pork chop, came out Raw on one side and medium well on the other side . I had ordered it medium well . When I pointed it out to the manager he said they could throw it back on the grill which I assume would have made the medium well part overcooked. I had another cocktail which was served once again over crushed ice . I told the waiter it was unacceptable and he did bring me another drink over one round ice cube . Even my sports bar knows how to serve a cocktail on the rocks . I did take the pork chop home to take pictures see attached. Lastly my friend had a Visa gift card to pay part of the bill . She did not remember the balance on the card and the manager insisted that their system could not check the balance . I have never had that experience before with a major gift card like Visa . I typically tip between 25 and 30% but only left a 15% tip due to the waiters arrogant attitude . The managers attitude was also very defensive . I did have a delightful Christmas Eve dinner at Fishbones so I'm not sure what has changed but needless to say I was very disappointed . Also, they did nothing to rectify the situation or or acknowledge my friend's birthday . read more

As much as I like comfort food, I am a huge fan of Fishbones for special occasions. I stopped in when my wife and I were house hunting in late '19, still feeling jet lagged and a little stressed. I ordered the pork chop, plus a salad and appetizer, expecting the usual small portions common with higher end restaurants, but received a very hearty meal. More importantly, the pork chop was easily the best I've ever eaten. It's a great restaurant, with a great selection of steak and seafood, not to mention superb wines. read more

I have been here several times and I'm very surprised that I haven't written a review yet. Great location, just off of I-4, International Parkway and HE Thomas, you really can't miss it! It's in a very popular location for this area. What I usually love most about this place is the more than, over the above customer service. There were 4 adults and 2 children this evening and we came to visit for a late night snack. I ordered 2 sushi rolls with seaweed salad. We also ordered a kids meal for my son. This evening was definitely different because I did not receive my normal over the top customer service. It was just mediocre service from or waiter but when we received our bill the birthday girl received a complimentary birthday dinner from the manager. A great spot for seafood and steak and we will return again. read more

So, here's my problem. I thought I was having dinner at bonefish grill, not fish bones. Having tried bonefish in the Sarasota and Clearwater areas and having super experiences, I thought it was a no brainier to come here. Fish bones. Bone fish. . . Not the same. The complementary cheese bread with food lacking in flavor is, I suppose ok if not paying the high dollar amount required here. Happy hour specials seem reasonable, but dinner menu not so much for the quality. Although I love the outdoor seating here, I will just stick with bone fish grill as I have tried it before with better quality and more affordable offerings. . . I have to give kudos to management for follow up though. I barely pressed the "post" button on the yelp app before I was greeted and asked about feedback from my review. It's not that the meal was bad-- it was just not what I expected. And at the $30 price point, the meal needs to be spectacular, not just ok. Doubt I'll be back to this one. read more

It looks like someone needs to school the Orlando area on one of the best happy hours EVR! Monday through Saturday 4:30pm - 6:30pm Bar & Patio Only (the atmosphere does not suck) $.25 Oysters and $.35 wood grilled oysters 1/2 Price Sushi $1.25 Shrimp Cocktail $4 Call Drinks & Featured Martinis Let me elaborate.....First of all i think it's the only place that does a happy hour on Saturday. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 2nd - The wood grilled oysters are amazing. I could eat like 25 dozen. And yes, the sushi is 1/2 off. That means you can get their lobster roll for like 6 bux. The martinis are awesome! They have 2 big vats of pineapple and apple soaked vodka that they use to make the martinis. They are delicious! The moral of my story is that you can get so stuffed you have to unbutton your jeans AND get a pretty good buzz for less than $25. Enjoy! read more

Fishbone has been on my radar for several months prior to making reservations for this business dinner. This is really a beautiful restaurant the glass cases next to the hostess station proudly displays all the offerings in their raw state and the presentations are really well done. From the prime aged steaks to the vast selection of fresh local and exotic fish everything looks tempting. We arrived at 5:30 PM for cocktails and we were immediately seated and greeted by Shenyu our sever. I must say the service throughout the evening was 5 stars, the food fell short of my expectations not that it was bad by any means it just doesn't seem to be that great or a memorable meal you'd expect from a venue this nice. I would recommend this place if asked and would return myself if in the area and looking for something just a step above the normal chain restaurants. I would say this place is at the very top in regards to service and ambiance - Ketel One Martini - my drink of choice, ordered up, a little dirty with stuffed olives served ice cold and poured table side. Impressive to say the least I wanted a half dozen of these but settled for two after all this is a business meeting. - Shrimp Cocktail - served on a saucer on a bed of lettuce is always a bad choice in my option the shrimp were very nice in size but weren't chilled this is always a mistake. I would not order this again. I don't know if it came out of the kitchen this way or it sat around and warmed up, either way it wasn't anything special. - Wedge Salad. - again another dish that wasn't chilled the lettuce wedge was warm, now I'm doubting my choice or trying to figure out what's broken here. No need to continue with the accompanying ingredients this doesn't work. - Blackened Hawaiian Trigger Fish - Very nice portion of this delicate fish, although you better like it spicy if you order it this way, it was cooked perfectly and topped with a cajun crawfish sauce (I wish I had more of this). The best description of this dish is "succulent" this was pair with some of their signature rice and a sautéed mix of zucchini and yellow squash I did taste both but didn't not like either fortunately the fish portion was plenty of food so I was happy without eating the sides. Solid three star experience I will return because I think they are better than what I experienced tonight. read more

Corner Cutters Damn you Fishbones. Your happy hour just may be the best thing in the Greater Orlando Area but your prep guys and line cooks cut corners. I have been here at least a bakers dozen of times, the $4 dollar Bond drinks and $2 drafts are unavoidable. Receiving a compilation of different qualities in service, I can confidently say that Christine is the serveuse de resistance of their glutenous, heurs des heureux. Accompany that with an inconsistency in the quality of the food and I just don't know what to make of you, Fishbones. I had your frog legs for my last go round in the GOA, with your fantasmigorical calamari, a round of some sappy, spicy tuna and I left full and satisfied. BUT... I had stems on the roughly chopped peppers that accompanied my calamari, not pleasant. For my most recent Fishboning, had the pleasure of dining with Lauren H, Alicia P and her boyfriend Vince, My sweet Miki and our friends Ben and Tim. Homie(Lauren) was served cocktail shrimp that had stray pieces of shell on them and Vince was fed a Tuna Taco the was as bland as Rachael Ray. The kitchen also pumped out additional orders of sushi for Ben and Tim, so there is clearly some mismanagement happening. BUT...my calamari was awesome, Lauren's calamari was awesome, Alicia's calamari was awesome and my frog legs were awesome. Due to an ordering/kitchen oversight, we were also fed two complimentary tuna tacos. I snagged one, which was fairly fresh but Firestoneish, seasonwise. As I sit here, in my Bond drink enduced stupor, I conclude this. You're good Fishbones, maybe too good for your own good. Your Chef has great ideas but a poorly monitored, motley crew are sending out sub-par sustenance for the happy hour hunters. A word to the wise, if you are served one of these unpleasantries, take a few bites and send it back, the food is good so you may as well milk them for there poor attention to detail. wakawaka read more

I have been going to this location for years with friends and business acquaintances and we have never been extremely expressed. Obviously the majority of items on the menu are fish and they don't have a lot of options for vegetarians. For the price, you expect excellence! The Blue Chips (homemade potato chips with blue cheese and truffle sauce) are delicious and they have a nice patio out back. Last night I was so disappointed. One of the waiters seemed very high strung and said loudly to another server, "I AM SUCH A RETARD!" He was making a lot of loud noises and was very active and antsy . I asked the bartender if I heard his statement correctly and he kind of laughed and said yes, not seeming concerned. Then the bartender seemed to avoid me somewhat because he seemed to feel a little uncomfortable. The high strung waiter then went to the bartender and jokingly said, "Where is my f***ing change?" I then saw a manager and pulled him aside and spoke to him about politically correct language regarding people with special needs. He explained that the server in question likes to entertain everyone and being in the bar area, that it was more relaxed. He did agree however that the waiter needed to hear my comments, as the manager understood my point. I think that the managers need to take a step back from their employees and be supervisors, not friends. read more

I came here once before several years ago but I don't remember much of the visit. I got invited last night and decided to give it a go again. I left with mixed feelings. The food was excellent! I absolutely have nothing negative to say about the food. Everything came out delicious and fresh. We got the calamari for an appetizer and it was great. The salad and cheese bread came out next and they were delicious as well! While waiting for our main courses, a manager came over with a sample of their ahi tuna nachos. I'm not much of a tuna fan, but I gave it a try and loved it. It was spicy and crunchy; the fish definitely tasted fresh. I ordered the prime rib which was probably one of the best I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and just melted in your mouth. The garlic whipped potatoes were delicious. I ended up ordering a side to go for my left overs (which I had a lot of!). I appreciated that the prime rib was anti-biotic and hormone free, it's one of the reasons I ordered it. Lastly, we finished off the meal with the chocolate grand marnier cake and it was out of this world. First off, the slice of cake was huge. Between three people we barely made a dent. The cake itself was rich and moist. The orange flavor really came through and mixed well with the chocolate. The downfall was the service. Our server was friendly and pleasant; he was knowledgeable regarding the menu so all of that was good and well. It was just at times he was pretty nonexistent. Now I'm not a huge fan of an overly attentive server, I like my meal time peace! But it took too long for refills, waiting for our check took over 30 minutes and when he was there he seemed rushed. We were seated at a booth tucked away all the way back of the restaurant and it seemed like he was serving the opposite side so maybe management just needs to better evaluate the flow of service. Like I said, the food was excellent and the place is beautiful. Our server was friendly, but it seemed like he had too much going on. I'd definitely return, but not anytime in the near future. read more

This used to be a place I would go all the time, and just took a hiatus. So I decided to go back and relive the old days so to speak. I have to say my experience was not that great. The food was ok, my fish was very dry, and the stuffing had zero flavor. The crab martini was really good. The chocolate cake and carrot cake we had had that refrigerated taste. The service was good but the server was borderline annoying with her politness, is was very forced and abundant. I will not go back for a while again and would probably suggest people visit one of the other restaurants in the area or take the short drive over to Winter Park for several more options. I would say that the crab martini (lump crab in a martini glass) was good. Cocktail sauce was almost like ketchup, and the grilled Oysters were actually really good as well. Outside of that a big disappointment. read more

Best mistake I've made in a long time. Sounds weird, right? But let me explain: my friend and I were looking for a place to eat between where she was staying and where I work. We decided on meeting in the Lake Mary area and to meet at the restaurant whose name is the reverse of Fish Bones. About an hour before we we're to meet, my friend texted me that she had made a mistake in the restaurant name and asked if we should still meet as planned or go to another restaurant nearby. We both decided to stick with Fishbones and we've been back twice in less than a month after that! The decor inside and outside of Fishbones is impressive - bold, classy and big. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a sushi bar (as well as a regular bar) you can sit at. Fish tanks, glass art and wall art surround you (but is not overwhelming) and the bathrooms are pretty fancy-schmancy themselves. The service is A+. Servers are attentive, anticipate your requests/needs, but yet give you space to enjoy your exquisite meal. Disclaimer: I'm not a seafood eater, but all of the people I've since taken to Fish Bones love seafood and especially liked the $5.99 lobster tail you can add onto your entrees. My chicken entrees (I've had both chicken offerings in the menu - one, an Alfredo pasta dish) and they were delectable. Juicy, grilled chicken with just enough grill marks and the mashed potatoes with truffle butter made me do the Homer Simpson, "Mmmm!" drool with eyes half closed. I also opted for the house salad before my meals and it's so clean and savory tasting (I meant to ask them if they sell their house dressing, but my food coma clouded my mind) that even my dad (whose not a fan of veggies and whom I took to a later venture to Fish Bones) exclaimed how good it was! You are also treated to complimentary bread that has a hint of garlic butter it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed if you come here! Great food, great service and great atmosphere! read more

A lavishly styled seafood/steak dinning and bar. The theme inside says seafood, the torches burns brightly outside signaling hawaiian? And they have foods from all over the America's, both coasts and the 50th state. And just to not miss out, they also have aged beef with some interesting descriptions. The award winning Wasabi sauce washed mahi mahi is flaky and smooth, the blackened sword fish is flavorful and fresh like it's ff the pier. Crab cakes are loaded and pumped up like frog legs. But for the price, this is more an experience than taste. Slow service, high costs makes this a special occasion rather than a must eat food spot. read more

Disappointed Took my family here for dinner. The service was fine if a bit slow. The food, however, was disappointing. I ordered Shrimp and Scallop Scampi. The shrimp still had their tails on, even though it's a dish served in sauce. The tails made it difficult to eat and added nothing to the dish. The two scallops that were actually in it were perfectly cooked. Wish there had been more as the shrimp was tough and rubbery. I got a whiskey sour which was mainly two shots of whiskey in a glass with about 9000 ice cubes. On the upside, we were seated promptly and received our food relatively quickly. Also, the Caesar salad was one of the best I'd ever had. I only wish the entrée had been as good. Overall, I expected more from a high-end dining experience. read more

I have dined here twice while in town on business. The first time I had salmon and the last time I had the mixed grill of chicken and shrimp. The salmon was cooked well, although a little on the expensive side. I had to send the chicken back to be a little more done, but it was no big deal. The manager on duty stopped by to offer his apologies and let me know to get his attention if I needed anything else. The mixed grill was a great deal, coming with salad, bread, veggies, orzo, chicken and 5 shrimp. For 18.95 it was a bargain compared to other items on the menu that come a la carte. I sat in the bar this last time and the service was friendly and attentive. I will keep this one on the list if I happen back in town. read more

We went to Fishbones for Christmas Eve dinner. The house salads which have an olive tapenade on it were great; there was no need to upgrade to Caesar or anything else. The Lobster Cappuccino...sigh. Skip it. If you're looking for a bisque with lumps of lobster, look elsewhere. There wasn't even a lobster or crab meat garnish. It was swirled to make it look like a cup of cappuccino. It was cute. The bang bang shrimp?? Underwhelming. You're better off at Bahama Breeze. We got countless "ginger ale" refills and a refill of bread (we had to pay for both). Fishbones version of ginger ale is cola with a spritz of Sprite (?) if I remember correctly. The problem is that real ginger ale has no caffeine. As high as the prices are, what's a splurge for REAL caffeine free ginger ale?? The Bouillabaisse was SO flavorful but too small. I guess after all of the ginger ale and cheese bread -which was really good, btw- why make it any bigger? Tl; dr: the ambience was great as was the service. The appetizers were average and entrees above average. If the prices were a tad lower, this review might have gotten 4 or 5 stars. read more

Never again! My dinner was mediocre at best but the worst was my son's steak. After a very long wait for our dinner (it was busy so the wait wasn't the issue), his steak came out and it was very overcooked. He asked for medium and it was well. There were the apologies and promise to fix it immediately. After 20 minutes the manager returned with a new steak. This one was raw! We got the apology again and offer for a free dessert. By this time our entire table had finished their meals and had been sitting waiting for some time. A new manager delivered the steak and was very apologetic and said he would take remove the steak from the bill. We thanked him and appreciated his efforts. The bill arrived, seemed higher than it should but we were anxious to go. I called back later because I felt the bill was wrong. The manager went through it and apologized again and told me he was refunding $30 that was overcharged. Not worth the high prices!!! read more

When the weather is nice, the back patio and bar is the place to be. Happy hours offer plenty of food and drink specials, the wood grilled oysters are a favorite. The patio is always packed, so if you want to enjoy Happy Hour here, plan to arrive early. As in, prior to 5PM. The locals residents and business folks have this place packed by 5:15 and they stay late into the night. On this visit, we stopped by for after dinner drinks. Arriving at 8, we were able to find 2 seats together; once again packed inside and out. There was live music on the far side of the patio, which was nice. A server appeared shortly after we grabbed seats and we had some lovely drinks in front of us within minutes. They were infusing vodka with fresh pineapple, so I tried the Hawaiian cosmo, with the fresh pineapple vodka and a splash of cranberry. That drink packed a punch but was very smooth and harmless tasting going down. Dangerous....in a good way. Enjoyed drinks and headed out, always a great time! read more

We enjoyed a nice evening out. Celebrating the born dates of my three oldest sons and my God sister's husband (apparently Virgos rule the world). We had a a great waiter named Daniel who put on his photographer hat before the evening was over. We feasted on lobster Mac and cheese, escargot, calamari, roasted artichoke, gourmet blue cheese kettle chips, and sushi. That was just for starters. By the time our salads and entrees of lamb chops, whole snapper, filet mignon, pork chops, and fried shrimp arrived we were asking for the check and a wheel chair to get carted to the car. This review is solely for the happy hour, as I have never eaten in the main dining room. Happy hour is from 430-630 every day on the patio and in the bar. This is my favorite happy hour in the lake Mary area. They have several food options; my personal favorites are the blue chips, tuna tacos and prime rib sliders (price ranges from $4-7). Drink prices are good, with several options. I generally get a glass of house wine for $4, or the $4 cantaloupe martini, which is awesome and surprisingly boozy. I almost always sit on the patio (provided it's not too hot), and service is always great. Riley and David are my favorite servers, and they're always awesome. They have a guy that plays acoustic guitar starting at about 6 pm (typically 90s songs) on the patio that's good. The place is generally crowded on weekends, so come early. read more

We use to be regulars for almost 30 years . No more. They have obnoxiously raised their prices more so than most , much cheaper food quality, and bad service. The last time we dined here we had one of the worst meal experiences ever. Bad/rude service, bad food, bad management. When we asked for help and gave our feed back to management about horrible service and food, they were annoyed at us for complaining and verbally told us. I feel it is unprofessional for management to get upset from constructive negative feedback. It's also unprofessional to treat a customer they way we were treated. As if it was our fault for the horrible meal. Our server was MIA entire meal , took forever to get food and drinks, nothing was cooked proper, either not cooked/raw/frozen or over cooked, incorrect cocktails, the sushi was the only saving grace, but for what they charge per roll /quality no longer worth it . Never dined at a place where they take negative feed back personally and not constructively to better their overall goods and service. Very shocked and disappointed at how much they have gone down hill and how poorly they treat their customers. read more

How could anyone not leave this place 5 stars? Coming here multiple times a year and have never had anything (food, drinks, or service) below Michelin star. I'm not sure why they keep changing their menu, especially with F&D moving in close by and taking their business but here are the updates: - no more Caesar salad - why? IDK - no more crab legs - they have some basic sides but up charge for their good sides - why not just charge more overall and then make a margin on lower food cost items? - the majority, if not all, of their sushi menu has changed/ been removed and the list goes on, but I'm really getting disappointed in what used to be one of my favorite restaurants read more
