Although our house is new construction, we knew we needed gutter guards (and possibly larger gutters) due to problems that were already arising from the gutters that were present. When we met with Jenn, our salesperson, we were very comfortable with her assessment of our situation. She explained everything about Gutter Guys, their products, installation, and how she came to her recommendation for our home. We completely agreed that we needed larger gutters and definitely guards! We never felt pressured and we never felt like there was an upsell. Jenn welcomed all our questions--and continues to, even after installation. She is a great rep and knows her stuff! When it came time to install, we worked with Katie and Kim from the office, both of whom were super patient with my questions and with explaining the scheduling process with me. The were both pleasant, informative, and kind. Our installation was done by John and Larry, and I can't say enough about how great they were! They were on time, were very pleasant, welcomed questions, worked well as a team, had a clean job site, cleaned up after they were done, and were very respectful of me and our home. When I came out at the end of the day to see their work, I was so pleased! We purchased the Gutter Guards for their functionality, but John and Larry did such a wonderful job that I told them that they made my house prettier! I could really see that they took pride in their work and wanted it too function and look as good as possible! I've waited a few months to post this review because I wanted to see how the Gutter Guards worked in heavy rain. Well, a week or so ago, we had really heavy rain and the Gutter Guards were amazing! Every problem that we had had with the original gutters was fixed! So now, not only do the gutter look great, but my foundation, roof, and concrete steps are protected. My wife and I have a home in Bethany Beach with a steep roof. In heavy rainstorms water would spill…read moreover the gutters, so we looked on Yelp and had The Gutter Guys come out to give us an estimate to fix the problem. The result: I needed larger 6" gutters and downspouts, priced at about $6,000 for the job. We signed the contract on the spot, in the end of January (when we weren't here) they came out to do the work, sent the bill electronically the next day, which I paid the day I received it with the work sight unseen. BIG MISTAKE!!!! A few months later we got to our vacation home and could not believe the job. Yes, the gutters and downspouts were replaced, but the drip edge (running from under the roof shingles and wrapping around the corners of the roof) looked like an opened tuna can. Worse, actually. Pictures are attached. Upon reaching out to The Gutter Guys it took about 2 weeks before the sales rep who sold me the job could come look at it. He told me what was done to get the old gutters off the house was "normal." If that's normal, I wonder what abnormal would look like. He did note some areas that needed more work and told me the crew would come back to address the other issues. And he told me that to fix the problem caused by his crew I'd have to go to a roofer. That was in May. By August they had not shown up to fix any of the issues, though I did have two other gutter companies come to look at the work and advise me on how to fix it. Both of the other gutter companies said they'd never seen a roof drip edge left in that condition and that "normal" was certainly not the word they'd use to describe it. After repeated conversations with The Gutter Guys sales rep he did say his crew should have noted the problem and that, as a minimum, I should have been sent pictures so I'd know what to expect when we returned to the home in the spring. In late August The Gutter Guys refunded roughly 10% of the job's price for the drip edge. My wife and I just got the roof replaced -- many times more expensive than the 10% refund -- to fix the problem caused by The Gutter Guys. We're now having the house painted, and just found wood rot (see picture) under one of the downspouts that were replaced by The Gutter Guys. It's not possible that their crew missed this wood rot, but, like the other problems and substandard work, I wasn't informed of this. And I wouldn't have known as the problem became worse had I not been getting my house painted. I'm willing to guarantee that the owner of The Gutter Guys wouldn't tolerate this kind of work on his own home. And I'll also guarantee none of the crew who did this to my house would have done this kind of work on their own homes. Gutter Guys are perfect for your job. Provided that you're looking for workers who will damage your home, not let you know about it, cover it up, and have to be dragged kicking and screaming to take any degree of accountability for their shoddy work. Worst company I have ever worked with. Absolutely horrible. RUN, DON'T WALK, AWAY FROM THE GUTTER GUYS.

He came in person and looked at everything prior to writing the quote. I pointed out the amount of drywall and other prep that would be needed. I was general, not specific, since he claimed to be very experienced and knowledgeable. I was told to purchase 8 gallons of wall paint. I use expensive paint, so it cost me a lot of money. They only used about 2 gallons! They did not prep the walls or trim properly, they did not properly protect my new LVT flooring (they stained it) or any of my furniture or belongings, they did not fill nail holes prior to painting, they did not caulk, they did not prime and/or paint everything we agreed on, they did not apply 2 coats of paint after priming, they did not use the extender as needed with the gloss causing brush and roller marks and it to tack up, they did not sand everything, they did not clean up the massive amounts of dust left covering everything by the little sanding they actually did, they refused to leave the door open while painting so the a/c could get in to cool the room and lower the humidity necessary for proper curing, causing the humidity to rise above 70% in that room, they actively attempted to keep me out of the rooms, so that I wouldn't see what they were doing and not doing, they lied about what I asked to be done even though it was in the contract. They blamed me, the drywall, the wood, the carpenter; they blamed everything and everyone else and took no responsibility. They told me to replace my brand new doors, frames, shelving with a different wood so it would be less prep work for them to paint. They made no effort to contact anyone to fix my flooring. They got mad when I told them I needed it fixed in whichever way would not void my warranty, so I had to wait for the authorized installer to return my call. Without my knowledge, they attempted to clean the floor with an abrasive Magic Eraser sponge and a scrub brush. They refused to do a walkthrough or punch list, and they refused to return accusing me of demanding perfection. They requested payment several times immediately after telling me they would not finish. I now have to get quotes to fix and finish the prep and paint, and a quote to repair or replace my floors. Not a single item was completed from the contract he and I agreed on and he took 60% of the contract amount and he stopped working the property. I know normally how it is not done with contractors so I asked him a few more times and confirmed if he could really finish it in two weeks. He was confident and said two weeks for no problem. After it has been almost 4 weeks, not even a quarter of work has been done and I noticed he didn't even show up. He has so many excuses and complaints every single time when I contacted him. It felt like he was working for free which was not true. We agreed on 3 installment payments, 1st installment, before the job start about 30% of the total price, and 2nd one, 1/3 of the total price, and the last one at the completion of the job. After 2 weeks of work and not much of work has been done, he already requested for the 2nd installment. I asked him, the work has not been done 2/3 of the job, more over not even half way done. Anyway, he got upset and he wouldn't continue the job if I didn't pay. So I paid and then BOOM! He didn't show up at work and when I asked him, his answer was it is too cold to work at the property. He made excuses and excuses and he said he will only come back if the heater is fixed. I did and texted him and called him. NO RESPONSE. Besides, his quality of work is horrible. He and his crew painted all over, light fixtures, light bulbs, floors, even bathtub. What kind of painter paint over the tub?! They simply didn't even covered the parts not supposed to paint but they were so lazy and sloppy worker. They installed the brand new room doors, two out of three, didn't even close properly and didn't even use the shim. Installing the door is one of the basic carpentry job and he can't even do that! I asked for the breakdown of the work and cost and no answer. When I confronted him for a few stuff, he just blah blah blah and repeating himself by making endless nonsense and not doing the job at all. Even if he does a job, not a good quality one.

Unfortunately, the leaks started again this March. I got estimates and Kyle seemed to make the most sense. He showed me pictures and explained carefully how the metal roof was bad and that installation caused damage to the siding. I got financing through him and signed contracts. His contract included getting the permits and a GAF warranty on the roofing materials! A week or so later he and his crew were here to install a newer roof. He found what was causing the problems and made the corrections needed. Even when I disagreed with Kyle about 2 of 3 skylights, he found me a solution. Then, they came back and installed new siding. There were days of banging and shaking during the installations, but the results are gorgeous! Take pictures before the work is done so everything can be put back where you had it. He and his crew were considerate, patient, and very professional! Hopefully, I now have a secure home without moisture building up and a roof that will not leak for at least 10 years!
