He ordered the specialized battery, and then he called me when it came in and made an appointment to complete the job. He also called when was on his way. Daniel pointed out a rusty spring and some mismatched hinges a previous homeowner had installed. He emphasized that he wasn't trying to sell me anything, but those were the reasons for the noises when my door goes up and down. He lubricated various parts while he was at it. His cost was very reasonable, and he obviously knows what he is doing. He can rebuild or replace garage doors as well as openers. He's also a licensed electrician. I highly recommend Bay to Bay Garage Doors and Daniel Slater, (302) 535-9325, Smyrna, serving most of Delaware.

They really stay on top of their business, and most people were on vacation that week. I was really impressed and appreciated it. I just slightly tapped my garage door with the rear l of my Kia Soul and it set off a chain reaction that nearly wrecked the whole thing. Seth arrived early in the morning a few days later, working alone, and set the door into its tracks, reset the cable, and even did a quick conditioning/cleaning job on the outside front of the door, making it look almost like a brand new door. In addition, he screwed in a support brace in the middle of the door because it was bowing. This is actually at the home of my elderly mother, and she has not done any servicing on the door for many years. Seth straightened it out and got it running right. The door is over 20 years old and I was almost thinking we would need a new one. Now I know that the door will run at least another 10 years if not longer. I would easily recommend this business to anyone needing servicing on their overhead garage door, thank you ESOD! And by the way, he never tried to sell me on a new door or motor (He did leave me with a catalog of new doors when I asked about that option), and when the bill arrived was shocked... My wife and I have a home in Bethany Beach with a steep roof. In heavy rainstorms water would spill…read moreover the gutters, so we looked on Yelp and had The Gutter Guys come out to give us an estimate to fix the problem. The result: I needed larger 6" gutters and downspouts, priced at about $6,000 for the job. We signed the contract on the spot, in the end of January (when we weren't here) they came out to do the work, sent the bill electronically the next day, which I paid the day I received it with the work sight unseen. BIG MISTAKE!!!! A few months later we got to our vacation home and could not believe the job. Yes, the gutters and downspouts were replaced, but the drip edge (running from under the roof shingles and wrapping around the corners of the roof) looked like an opened tuna can. Worse, actually. Pictures are attached. Upon reaching out to The Gutter Guys it took about 2 weeks before the sales rep who sold me the job could come look at it. He told me what was done to get the old gutters off the house was "normal." If that's normal, I wonder what abnormal would look like. He did note some areas that needed more work and told me the crew would come back to address the other issues. And he told me that to fix the problem caused by his crew I'd have to go to a roofer. That was in May. By August they had not shown up to fix any of the issues, though I did have two other gutter companies come to look at the work and advise me on how to fix it. Both of the other gutter companies said they'd never seen a roof drip edge left in that condition and that "normal" was certainly not the word they'd use to describe it. After repeated conversations with The Gutter Guys sales rep he did say his crew should have noted the problem and that, as a minimum, I should have been sent pictures so I'd know what to expect when we returned to the home in the spring. In late August The Gutter Guys refunded roughly 10% of the job's price for the drip edge. My wife and I just got the roof replaced -- many times more expensive than the 10% refund -- to fix the problem caused by The Gutter Guys. We're now having the house painted, and just found wood rot (see picture) under one of the downspouts that were replaced by The Gutter Guys. It's not possible that their crew missed this wood rot, but, like the other problems and substandard work, I wasn't informed of this. And I wouldn't have known as the problem became worse had I not been getting my house painted. I'm willing to guarantee that the owner of The Gutter Guys wouldn't tolerate this kind of work on his own home. And I'll also guarantee none of the crew who did this to my house would have done this kind of work on their own homes. Gutter Guys are perfect for your job. Provided that you're looking for workers who will damage your home, not let you know about it, cover it up, and have to be dragged kicking and screaming to take any degree of accountability for their shoddy work.
