The are also great instructors. We had a few kids and a couple beginners in our group and Josh and Dom were patient and skilled at providing instructions and at one point even got on the surf board with one of our kids to get them up and surfing! What a thrill that was for all! Thanks for a great time Wake Winni!

This place is sooooo cute!! I LOVED it!! There's a lot of different items to look @ & we learned that the cashier, Cassandra is also a local artist who has made a lot of the things for sale in the store. She was very nice & friendly. I love the gift bags & tissue paper that she hand stamps and puts together the bags if you are buying gifts for someone. I got a cute porcelain cat planter that was even on sale! The best part about it is my friend actually Venmo me money for it because she wanted to pay for it as a bday gift...score!! I picked up a couple cute NH stickers as I like to collect a sticker from each state that I visit & I also pick one up for a friend & co-worker. I got my Mom this super cute night light made out of metal with a bear in it that I think will look great @ her camp up in ME, that one I'm saving for Christmas. My friend also bought me these flat dish rags that expand when you get them wet, they have cats all over them. I've been eyeing them ever since she showed me some that she has back in Dec. when I was @ her house. I haven't really wanted to buy them due to them being a little pricey so I'm excited to try them out. Cassandra had told us how this building use to be an old Bait & Tackle shop. The owner worked hard redoing it & getting it ready for her trading post. I love the hard wood floors, this place is just really cozy and nice. :-) I definitely will have to stop in again when I'm back in town & up this way. Thanks for your AWESOME customer service & friendliness Cassandra! NOTE: there is no public toilet or running water in here. There is a gas station close by & a DD across the street.

Boat was brought in to Ossipee Lake Marina for a summer tuneup before the start of the season. I…read morecalled to make sure it was ready to be picked up. I was told it was all set. When I arrived, everyone seemed to be on their lunch break and annoyed by the "interruption" of my visit. They quickly had me sign the receipt and sent me on my way with my boat. They failed to mention that they did not put the BATTERY back in the boat. (Not sure how they tested it after the tuneup if they never put the battery back in the boat). Anyway, it was not until the boat was off of the trailer, and sitting at the boat launch dock trying to turn the thing on (on a lake that was 30 minutes away from the Marina) that I noticed they failed to put the battery back in the boat. When a call was placed to ask that they rectify the situation, I was told that no one was available to bring the battery to us, and that we would have to come down and pick it up. The owner would not speak to me because he was too busy "showing a boat". Seeing that it was 4th of July weekend and one hour had already been wasted waiting for calls back from the marina, we pushed the battery-less boat back onto the trailer... a very aggravating inconvenience.... and headed down to the marina. The owner then called us back as we were en route and instead of starting off with an apology, he said that he wasn't going to listen to me yell at him. Not the best way to handle an aggravated customer before even giving them the chance to speak. He also told me that the paper work I signed said that the battery was still charging and I should have checked it before I drove off with the boat. SERIOUSLY??? I'm sorry, but please forgive me for assuming that when someone tells me the boat is "ready", it means that the battery is back in place and connected. He also was stupid enough to tell me that the battery in the boat was old and it was on its last leg. I told him that we had another problem, because I purchased the battery FROM HIM last year. When we arrived, the owner (who was visibly annoyed) walked us right over to our charging battery and pointed at it, saying nothing. I looked at him and said... "Yes?" He said "We don't sell this battery so you didn't purchase it here." This was VERY interesting to find out, seeing that I said "hello" to the gentleman (Tim) who had installed it for me last year at that marina. When I asked to see a copy of that receipt, (because there were clearly even more issues with his operation than I previously thought) he quickly said that all of last year's receipts were at home. So I'm still left here wondering whose "old battery" he sold to me last year, if they do not carry or sell the type that he put in my boat.

As a scuba diver, I dread having to go here. I've been diving for 15 years, having relocated to the…read moreNortheast from Florida with over 1,200 logged dives and interactions with dozens of dive shops. My main issue with Dive Winnipesaukee isn't selection or pricing--it's the staff. Diving Lake Winnipesaukee is cold, dark, has a short season, rough water, and not a lot to see. I spend my personal time on this, driving the boat of the car up to an hour just to get to this shop and another hour in four foot chop to reach a dive site on the opposite end of the lake. Between hauling heavy gear and long drives, the process is already a hassle. The staff could easily make the experience better and the day better, but instead, they make it worse. I've been here a few times. I walk in through the back door to the front counter and stand there while two teenagers focus on renting someone a canoe. Five minutes pass without a greeting, an acknowledgment, a basic "we'll be right with you " or even better a "you finish this while I help this person" (it doesn't take two people to rent a trampoline). Eventually I see someone in the back room, go to that employee, and politely ask to get a tank serviced and rent another one for the day. The transaction itself is purely clinical--exactly like walking into a doctor's office. I get handed a clipboard, fill it out, show my dive card, pay for the rental, get my receipt, and get sent on my way. When checking in my tank for a simple visual inspection, the staff member behind the counter asked for the date of manufacture on the tank. I mentioned I bought it brand new last year (meaning it's less than five years old), and she retorted, "Well, I need to check to make sure it doesn't need a hydrostatic inspection." Everyone in the dive community casually calls it a hydro. Using full the terminology just comes across as insecure (like you have to prove you know the full name) or it's pretentious. During a 15-minute rental process at any other dive shop I've ever been to, there's some basic small talk. Staff ask where you're diving today or talk about local sites, and you get to know the people. Here that isn't the case. The staff is generally unfriendly. I don't like going in there, I don't like interacting with them, and I'd rather avoid them entirely. My friend who knows them, said their problem is they're the only dive shop on the lake. He says competition demands exceptional service and customer loyalty where a monopoly does not. I agree. If another dive shop opened anywhere on Winnipesaukee, I would switch to them in a heartbeat, even if it were more expensive or further away.
