There is a parking lot and we were able to find parking but I'm sure it gets full at peak times. We enjoyed the hike and the waterfalls. It was in late May so there were quite a few people there. It's a peaceful spot to relax, sit in the pool, and just enjoy nature. I'm glad my family and I got to visit during this trip!

When we noticed an opening, we asked nearby drivers if we could squeeze in, and they had no issue with it. As we were parking, an employee approached us in a very aggressive and unprofessional manner and told us we could not park there. We apologized and explained that we were not from the area and had not seen any signs. We were told that the rule was "well known to locals" and that a sign existed at the front of the line--more than 25 cars ahead, making it impossible for us to see. Despite the surrounding drivers having no objection, the employee demanded we leave and became increasingly hostile when we asked questions or requested a manager. At that point, the interaction escalated unnecessarily, and we decided it wasn't worth the confrontation and left. I've never experienced such a level of rudeness from a staff member over an honest misunderstanding. Clear signage and more professional communication would have avoided the entire situation. Someone even yelled out "stop being a parking nazi". I would have otherwise liked to review the venue itself, but we were unable to do so as we never made it inside.

I've written 327 reviews and only five businesses had the lack of integrity, unprofessionalism, and ineptitude to "earn" a 1 star review. I do not take giving a one star lightly and provide plenty of opportunities for the business to correct a potential misunderstanding with lots of benefit of doubt before it's obvious "Oh, Dive Winnipesaukee doesn't give a crap about us as customers. This is intentional." Keep reading if you want the lengthy details. I'm not even going to get into the fact none of the employees wore a mask, that's almost an amusing "Oh well, diff'rnt folks diff'rnt strokes!" in the face of the entire experience. My husband called TWO DAYS ahead and made a reservation for 6 single kayaks and one double kayak for a group of 8 adults. We confirmed many times these were available for a half day morning, the employee said we could come in any time that morning, we said we'd try to arrive around 9:30am, and we gave our credit card information as well as our phone number. The total came out to around $254. 9:30am on the day of our reservation, as we were literally parking across the street from Dive Winnipesaukee, my husband gets a call from another employee who told us that they only had one single kayak available. We would have to make do with 3 double kayaks and a PADDLEBOARD instead. She said "I'll give you a discount for the miscommunication, I'll charge you the price of a single kayak for the double kayaks." Okay, not ideal to be told this at the last minute possible, especially since we've already put our credit card information down for our reservation. We decide to move past this and have a good time still. One front desk employee immediately tries to charge us for the original $254. I said "No, we are only getting three double kayaks and a paddleboard, plus we were told on the phone we'd be getting a discount because of the error." A woman came by (I think she is either the manager or owner) and said "I called Heath and told him everything." Heath is my husband and he's standing right next to me, he tries to chime in and she cuts him off and say "Let's get you out there and we'll sort this after." We agree and give them the benefit of believing they are an honest business and will sort this out. Their equipment is in bad condition. The three kayaks we got were completely different and in poor condition, it felt like they were purchased at yard sales. They're not sea kayaks, which they should've been because the lake had very strong currents and lots of boats. The worst part is they said they ran out of life vests and gave one of our friends the cheap kind you put on for a ferry (over the head, no straps to secure to body). My friend insisted this was not acceptable because 1. Kayak looked bad 2. The heavy wind and currents. Keep in mind they open at 9am, we showed up at 9:30am with a *reservation*. They didn't have 8 life vests?! After five minutes of my friend insisting, the guy went to look in their storage and found a real life vest. Why did it have to be such an ordeal, customer safety should've been number one and they should have had 8 life vests ready. Dive Winnipesaukee's business motto: Should've, would've, could've, don't give a crap so didn't. My husband went to the bathroom before we set out and the manager/owner/boss came out immediately with the receipt and asked us to pay. So much for waiting until after like she said. The price on the new bill was over $200, she didn't give us the discount that she promised ten minutes ago over the phone. I said "You didn't give us a discount, you said you'd charge us a single kayak price for the double kayaks because the reservation was messed up. You're just charging us full price for everything." She looked me in the eye and said "The original price was $254, it's $200 now. I gave you a $50 discount. Do you want me to charge you $254?" I was stunned, she's suggesting charging me the price for equipment we didn't get? Sure, charge us $254 and give us the equipment we reserved! It looked like she waited for my husband, whom she spoke with, to not be around. I told her that I wanted to wait and she said "I'm going to run the payment, we can discuss this later." Spoiler alert - there was no later! There was no training provided, when we asked them for places that we could kayak to we were given vague instructions of "There is a public beach, but it's closed. So just kayak around that bend, it's private property, but they might let you on." There's only one public beach, when that is closed then you're surrounded by large McMansion private properties and it gets tiring/boring quick. One of our friends also got stuck with the paddleboard on the rough waters. If you use Dive Winnipesaukee, be prepared to be screwed over.

Starting downtown at the Wolfeboro Train Depot, it follows the path of the now defunct Wolfeboro Scenic Railway. The tracks are gone, but the scenic views remain. There's plenty of parking at the historic depot, and a short ride on your bike or a leisurely stroll will take you along Wolfeboro's Back Bay and past some informative signage telling the history of the area. After passing through the wooded shade and some interesting rock outcroppings, you will see the remains of Berry Mill, built in 1840, and still making excelsior when I was a kid in the early 80s. Here you can often find people fishing along the river, and others walking their dogs, taking photos, or just simply enjoying the sun. Crossing the bridge at Wolfeboro Falls, near the run-down water wheel, the Bridge-Falls Path comes to an end. But if you still have some adventure left in you, you can venture across the street and continue the 12 mile path onto the Cotton Valley Trail, also known as the Wolfeboro-Sanbornville Recreational Trail or the Honorable Russell Chase Memorial Path. The rails are still in place from here on, and still used once a year for hobbyists to try their own rail vehicles. But that's another review! The Bridge-Falls Path is lit for nighttime use, but I'm not really sure I'd go it alone in the dark. Unfortunate signs of graffiti are sparse (and oddly kooky- OctoCat, half-octopus half-cat! These vandals are likely young kids with an off-kilter sense of humor.) Overall, the Bridge-Falls Path is a great start to the Cotton Valley Trail.

Enter the Flume Gorge. The whole trail is well-marked and was roughly two miles of walking for us, with some occasional hills and terrain. All along the way, there was plenty of nature to appreciate, with the waterfalls being the clear highlight of the show. My inner nerd loved the various signs and placards throughout the course that either gave travelers information about the flora, fauna, or geological history of different spots. I especially appreciate that there are limited numbers of tickets that are sold within time slots. I presume that's to keep the trail from getting too loud or crowded. My husband and I caved into the strong recommendations to purchase tickets online (the prevailing reason seems to be avoiding the peril of 'sold out tickets', but when we bought ours the night before our visit, there were still more than enough spots available). There are bathrooms available at the start of the hike (and technically also at the end, since the trail is circular). The visitor center/store is connected to the restrooms, though it's implicitly recommended to enter at the end of your hike since there's no reentering the trail once you come into the store. For those famished at the end of their visit, there's also a small food court selling fast food items and a modestly sized seating area. We paid $37 for two advance tickets (which includes a dollar 'print at home' surcharge, even if there's a scannable barcode included in the confirmation email that prevents needing to print anything). Parking was fine in the private lot and plentiful, especially during the early morning slot we took. Overall, this is a nice and easy hike for those who want to connect with nature on a non-intense hike.

I love the fact that it has a dog park and it is a dog friendly establishment. I would prefer if the showers had better pressure and were more modern, normally we wouldn't use it but our shower in our RV was out of commission. When we entered there's a gate that you need a code to open (the entrance isn't great for longer trailers you need to swing way to the right). You get an escort to your site to make sure you make it in alright. You also get a map of the campground. We were in site 81 which is a pull through but our 33 footer hardly made the turn (we had to hold a tree back so it wouldn't hit and the roads are very narrow). The site was rather small not much wider then our awning, length was ok as long as you don't have a tent or anything other then a car/truck. You can also hear the highway from our site but its not very bad and the highway isn't very busy. There is Wifi but for my phone (iPhone 6s) it is in and out (the extender it in the site next to us). There is in and out cell service here for Verizon (Not sure about others) We had a problem with the cable not finding any channels and they came out and fixed it (the cable connection was in a hole in the ground not the visible one on the box) You can rent kayaks, canoes, row boats, paddle boards and peddle boats for $10 an hour. "First come first serve". But they have better rates on the weekdays. We rented two kayaks and a canoe from 2:30-4:30 ($60) and it was beautiful out, the water was very calm and clear. Sli The pond (Moores pond) is where you launch. Theres are a lot of lily pads and aquatic plants that grow to the surface and go pretty far out into the pond but if you go out far enough its clear of plants There is a volleyball court, movie theater (very small) pavilion where they serve breakfast 8-10am, lunch 12-2pm and dinner 5-8pm. (The lunch menu can also be ordered for dinner) I got a burger at the pavilion and it was great, a little crispy on the edges and a smoky flavor. They also have cabins and TiPis that you can stay in. Honestly wouldn't come back in a trailer but I would try a cabin or tipi.
