Quick stop for fresh lobster rolls! Just park and order. Not a lot of places to sit, only a few picnic tables. And it's not as scenic as others that are by the water. But the food is good. So if that's all you need don't miss it!

Cute little place right on Main St. that was our first experience with a classic Maine lobstah roll - my husband ordered it and it was exactly as you picture it: fresh lobster, mayo, split-top bun. It was expensive for us landlocked folk who gasp a little at seafood prices when we venture to the coast, but what you'd expect from fresh Maine seafood - and it was delicious. We saw the guys in back bringing in coolers of more fresh stuff when we left too. I ordered the fried chicken plate with fries and cole slaw (much more affordable) and it was great. Super clean and cute, with a few cozy booths inside and picnic tables and a small play-set outside. Wait-staff inside, or you can just order at the window outside. Friendly service. We'd come back!

Size of the miniature lobster roll. Smaller than any of the other pictured

We stopped here in hopes of having some of the fresh seafood that Maine is famous for. We ended up being thoroughly disappointed. Despite the lobster roll being nearly $20, the roll itself was a disproportionately small, half stuffed hot dog bun. And the only thing the lobster was fresh out of was the freezer. Aside from our roll being much smaller than the ones posted in other reviews and being overly expensive, the taste was mediocre at best. This also goes for everything else we ordered, such as the shrimp roll and cheeseburger, which was said to taste like it had been frozen for 10 years. If you're looking for quality, fresh seafood for a good value, you better keep looking. But if you want to settle for an overpriced, painfully mediocre, frozen seafood joint, this is just the place for you.

Too expensive. All this alittle over $20.

Excellent food. The place is small and not much to look at, but it has the best seafood I've had so far.

The house lemonade is great as well, and the chocolate soft serve was some of the best I've ever had.

I just couldn't bring myself to shop there, so I changed to a Hannaford's in Bangor. The original building burned down due to sheer recklessness. Blue Hill peninsula was left without a supermarket, so, in step the Lawrence family. About a year later they had built a new structure in the same place, the one that stands today. TradeWinds selection and quality of food is pretty darned good. The store is lovely, the staff are lovely, and the food quality is very good. TradeWinds may be THE best grocery store/supermarket that I've ever experienced. The owners and the employees are top notch, always very helpful and friendly. The Lawrence family prioritize community, they offer locally grown or made choices, they offer a Maine food section, and they've made this store a shining example of what is possible. Employees need daycare, provided. Employees and others need an exercise spot, provided. Need less expensive fuel for your vehicle, provided. Need a more community oriented pharmacy, they bring in Community Pharmacy! I've never witnessed such active community support in my life! Now to the difficult part. After more than two decades ownership is transitioning. Hannaford, the Maine distributor, which supplies TradeWinds, is the new owner. Hannaford's has been a good company as far as I know. But, like most changes, this is a hard for many of us. Will they continue to offer the unique products that TradeWinds has all these years? Will they keep the lower, more reasonable prices for groceries and fuel that the Lawrence family offered us? Will they allow Community Pharmacy to remain? Will the very cool Beer Cave stay, continuing to offer the amazing Maine and small brew company selections? Will the community awareness and cancer fundraising continue? I hope the answer will be a resounding YES, but we have to wait and see. Even though it's a difficult phase, I have to say thank you to the Lawrences and Hannaford, I'm glad the store has a new Maine-based owner with a decent track record. Thank you Chuck and Belinda Lawrence for all you have given us folks on the Blue Hill Peninsula over these many years! You are very appreciated. I hope you enjoy a well deserved retirement. Thank you also to the lovely staff, I hope the transition goes well for you. I'll see you soon. I love you all for who you are and what you do. THANK YOU!

So first off; the view! Great view of a bay off the ocean. (If some guy with a big Jeep didn't park…read moreright in the way! That's me! ) After the view, come warm up to a cocktail with Jeff. I adore bourbon and "old fashions" to be specific. They have a great KnobCreek9 Old Fashioned. I highly suggest it but top end is their forte' so your imagination is your only holes barred. They are an open fire pizza joint but the apps are also amazing! Sometimes they have events like New Years and they had downstairs open for overflow (my first impression as upstairs was being renovated at the time). I loved it and their barkeeps are all characters and special. These folks are handcrafted with excellence. My friend Jeff!!! Cool guy - The pizza! I picked the mushroom pizza. It has great presentation and some niceties alongside. I'm gonna work my way through the menu. Come join Me! Blue Hill, Maine! Getting down in the Wintuh! !!! Magic Mushrooms is amazing, go try it!

Expensive meal, poor execution, and all four of us experienced stomach distress afterward…read more We visited Blaze Brewing in Blue Hill on December 13 for a birthday and left deeply disappointed. Service lacked attention to detail, especially given how quiet the restaurant was. Glasses arrived spotty, flatware mismatched, and a $14 glass of wine smelled strongly of chlorine. No plates were offered for a shared appetizer, and there was no salt and pepper on the table--we had to ask for both. The food did not justify the price. The Caesar salad was far from authentic--soggy, overdressed, and heavy on vinegar. The steak had a significant amount of gristle, and the mushroom/beef gravy had the taste and texture of a commercial product rather than something house-made. Fries were overdone and served in a very small portion. Most concerning, all four of us experienced stomach discomfort and digestive distress within a short time after the meal. For what we paid, we expected much better. This visit was a major disappointment.
