His boat was perfect, stable, safe, and allowed us to trim off at 6 inches of water to get close to the brush piles and logs for all types of fish. In 4 hours we caught Walleye, Crappie, Perch, Bluegill, Bullhead, and Rockfish. No trophy sizes, but it was a great experience for the kids to catch a lot of fish. Capt Mike was friendly, interacted well with the kids, and provided exactly the experience we were hoping for. August on the Lemonweir, no bugs, and the weather was perfect. We simply met him at the boat landing in Mauston. Would highly recommend Capt Mike, and will call him again next summer when we return! Thanks Capt Mike. Mark

There were a lot of trout in the pond. There is no catch and release in either of the ponds. Probably we dont even need a fishing road. Just putting a small net is enough to catch the fish. I caught 3. The store lady was nice. She cleaned it well. I just had to take home put some spice and bake/fry it. Fish tasted real good. In fact I saw others stopping by and just catching 1 fish per head and leaving. I guess they are just trying to make a tasty dinner. It was a really fun experience.

This is a great little park located at the northern end of Lodi, Wisconsin. It has a few…read morebaseball/softball diamonds, ample green space, and a pavillion and swimming pool. There is also a nice jungle gym to keep the kiddos occupied. The main attraction for me is that the park is nestled alongside Lodi Spring Creek, a fairly productive trout stream. Trout can be caught all along the length of the stream that borders the park. The park itself makes access to the enter section quite easy. If you're in Lodi and just want to enjoy a nice day out, Goeres is a nice spot to do it.

They were…read moresimilar, but Castle Rock's was slightly larger, and I'm told it has a nicer bottom, not as mucky as Mirror Lake. I wouldn't know for sure, though, since I didn't go in the water. I'm not a beach person, but my friends are and I wanted to be with them. I liked laying out on under the shady trees near the beach and watching the activities like a family group dragging out giant float after giant float (a camel, a rocker, a unicorn, a shark, etc.). They got them in the water, and then they promptly tipped them over whenever anyone in the family got on top of one. There were some friendly dogs there, but they weren't allowed on the beach, so one sadly got tied to a stake in the grass and had to watch their family have all the fun from a distance. Another cute 2-year old dog cried anytime anyone came near it, you could tell it wanted to play, but it's owner was an elderly gentleman who just wanted to sit in a chair and look at stuff (kind of like me). Maybe it's just me, but I would never bring my pet anywhere fun on vacation and then ignore it for hours. Anyway, it's a very crowded place on a beautiful summer day and if you like crowds and people-watching, this is the place for you. Lots and lots of people on the water boating, paddle boarding, swimming, etc. An ice cream truck came around a couple of times, there was volleyball nearby. My friends and I brought our bocce set and played a round. Nice mid-day outing.

This was also the trip where I was introduced to ticks lol. Even with long sleeves, pants, socks over pants, a jacket, and hat in the hot weather, we still got multiple mosquito bites on our face, hands, and through our clothes. Found about a dozen ticks on us underneath our clothes. Had fun though hiking, setting up our tent and campsite, kayaking for the first time, cooking meals, ears of corn, making smores, experiencing a rainstorm at night. Ty Dad for giving us the tarp to place underneath our tent, otherwise we would've been soaked lol. Also, we saw the cutest porcupine! The porcupine waddled and tried to climb a tree, but changed its mind. Friendly employees. Would like to return during non mosquito/tick season.

It is recommended that you book in advance if you are a large group, as the kayaks seem to be limited. It is a very popular place, as the scenery changes dramatically. The lake its' self is rather small, but is connected to windy rivers that are lined by orange cliffs. There is a nice mixture of shaded areas, as well exposed sunny areas. There are many beaches to pull up onto, and a dam at the end of the course. The lake is very friendly for beginners and experts. Kayaks are $10 an hour or $25 for a half day.
