So, I embarked on the daunting task of trying to; 1) find a new dentist for her, 2) with appointments during the precise times she will be here from college, and 3) while getting the type of sensitive care she requires as she has a terrible needle/dentist phobia. I explained this to the very nice woman who made her initial appointment and they squeezed us in Monday morning at 8am. The appointment was to establish care, take some x rays, get her previous records, etc . . . Dr. Hairston was so nice and very honest. My daughter's teeth are in excellent shape and she only needed some air abrasion for some minor stains. Dr. Hairston didn't suggest any pricey procedures or try to sell us services we didn't need. The rest of the staff is great too. Charming took great care of Sarah and the woman who helped us with appointments was very nice. Not a rude or dismissive office culture. Very welcoming and professional. Now, for the appointments. We couldn't make anything solid for the cleaning because of the college schedule. So, we went on the "call when something comes open and we will see if that works." Well, we got home around 9am Monday and by 10:30am they had called to get her back in at noon for a cleaning. Wonderful!! Got that out of the way. Also, they squeezed her in Wednesday, end of day, for the air abrasions. My daughter is going back to NC Thursday morning with all her dental needs completed for the new school year. What a relief Stensland has been for us. My husband and I have appointments as well and we are grateful that our family has dental care that we can trust.

By far and away she is the BEST at what she does and take it from me who is 76 years old and spent a lot of time in dental offices. Because of a negative outcome after neck surgery I have problems swallowing and a trickle of water could cause me to cough and as luck would have it I started coughing badly as Caroline was working on me. They used to be very personable - Now the staff and dentists dart in and out of the exam rooms like baggage handlers. The front desk had the nicest folks, who knew your name, knew your family, and would have pleasant banter about your dental situation - now they are as friendly as the clerk at a bus station ticket window. Today I called to make an appointment, the very bland desk worker comes back on the phone and says, "It's been too long since you had your last cleaning...you are now considered a new patient...and we're not accepting new patients". Translation: Take a hike, mister. How about that. When Shuck first opened his doors, my family was there. He had so few patients, that I could call at 9am and be in his chair at 10am. My whole family were onboard AND we referred numerous others. NOW I am a "NEW PATIENT that cannot be accepted now or ever". It's a new year. Me and my family are moving on. All referrals will be pointing in a different direction.

Two of my teenagers have now seen Dr. Springmann and have been very happy. My son needed a filling and is tricky to anesthetize (odd nerve patterns he got from me). Despite needing an extra shot, he was very happy with Dr. Springmann, reporting nothing but care, patience, and professionalism. We are new to the area, and sometimes it's hard to find a dental provider that works for a family. I am very thankful that we found this practice first.

I had a 2 year old and newborn son. They allowed me to bring them both and helped me the whole time take care of my boys. As my family grew and I became pregnant again, they treated me like family. They always allow me to make appointments for all three of my son's and myself at the same time. Sue, the hygienist, is literally the best in the business. She is so friendly and sweet and remembers everything about my family. Dr. Contract is so amazing. When my oldest son was 5, he needed some extensive dental work. She recommended a pediatric dentist but that person wanted to do thousands of dollars worth of work in a hospital setting. I went back to Dr. Contract and she did the work in her office for a fraction of the cost...under $100. She made my 5 year old feel like he was just having his teeth cleaned. He had to have a root canal and he doesn't remember any of it (he's 10 now). He has NO anxiety from the experience and adores her. I have recommended this practice to everyone I meet. Dr. Contract has come in on weekends and holidays to help some family and friends with dental emergencies. She takes pride in her profession and really cares about the patients. I will never go to another dentist a long as Williamsburg Smiles exists. The staff are amazing and truly care about each of their patients.

My journey started in October 2024 and involved multiple dentists, crown replacements, countless adjustments, consultations with specialists, and even a root canal. Throughout that time, I knew something still wasn't right, but I never felt like anyone was truly getting to the bottom of the problem. From my first visit, Dr. Loren Masuoka was different. He listened carefully to my concerns, took my symptoms seriously, and never made me feel like I was imagining things. Instead of dismissing what I was experiencing, he genuinely wanted to understand why I was still having pain and find a solution. During my appointment, he took the time to evaluate my bite and noticed that my crown was taking most of the force when I bit down. He carefully adjusted it and explained what he was seeing. The result has been incredible. For the first time since October 2024, I can chew on the right side of my mouth without pain. The cold sensitivity is gone, and I no longer spend every meal worrying about that tooth. After nearly two years of frustration, appointments, and uncertainty, I finally feel like myself again. The greatest gift Dr. Masuoka gave me was making me feel heard. When you've been dealing with a problem for that long, having a dentist who listens, believes you, and genuinely wants to help is invaluable. The staff really go above and beyond, before I came in for my first appointment the woman at the front desk had already inquired about my insurance so she could tell me exactly what she expected that I would have to pay out of pocket. I liked that they really explained everything that was going to be happening throughout the procedure and answered all my questions!
