Their Thai food is excellent. The pad Thai and curries are all fantastic. My family is not a fan of their Chinese food.

Well, the food has continued to go down hill over the years, but now I've reached my limit. Trash…read morerestaurant. Between the mold they have growing in their kitchen and the horrible customer service , new china is probably the only decent place in Enfield to order from. Edit: after going through the food I had 4 half inch by 1 inch pieces of steak for my15 dollar meal. Edit 2: decided to actually sift through the rest of this. Apparently lo mein is so expensive for them that you get a quarter of what you ask for:

The eggs rolls were so greasy, as if oil was not hot enough or was old and needed cleaning .. the 6 egg rolls could not be eaten.. The French fries were so over cooked you could knock on wood with them., it was as if they were old ..and warmed up. The chicken nuggets were greasy dry and Burnt and could not be eaten hard to chew. . The crab rag goon was greasy and flavor was not there it was thrown in trash with fries ,chicken , and the egg rolls .. We also got 2 soup and large order of beef and broccoli.. in all the food was a 50.00 bust .. we ended having to go to McDonald's for the kids because Great Wall food went in the trash ... and that was a added cost we didn't expect .. The food in the past was usual good but not in the last few months .. I will not be ordering from them any time soon , unless I hear they got their act together and improved their quality of food . The food was not fresh, as if warmed over It was greasy dry burnt and disgustingly .

My wife had a craving for rice during our last night in Connecticut, so stopped into this strip…read moremall restaurant near our hotel for an early dinner. The food (taste and value) and service was solid. It's an interesting name (like others, knew a 'Jimmy Chen' while growing up...Chen being a very popular surname in China and in the Chinese community in the U.S.). They have a good website, so was able to scout the menu before arriving and knew that we had missed their lunch specials. It wasn't too busy inside, and there was plenty of parking in the small strip mall (Sophia's Plaza). We were greeted immediately, led to a booth, and offered a free appetizer of deep fried wonton skins with sweet/sour sauce (appreciated since not a common practice on the West Coast). Chen's is marketed as Asian Cuisine which in this part of the country means Chinese (Chinese-American classics) and Japanese (sushi and bento) with a little bit of Thai (Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice). We were too late to take advantage of the lunch menu special ($9.25 or $10.25 during 11:00 - 3:00), but Jimmy's offers the same as combo specials (anytime but priced higher at $13.25). Our server stated that the lunch option does have (slightly) smaller portions, and doesn't include the egg roll. We ordered two plates, shared between the two of us: C4 Beef Broccoli and C19 Garlic Shrimp, each coming with a big, fat egg roll well deep fried and a rich (greasy with chinese bbq pork) fried rice. The garlic sauce was really good, not too garlicky (noticing how a 'garlic' Chinese dish has quite a bit less garlic than a 'garlic' Italian dish). I loved that they used 5 really jumbo shrimps, each big enough to be split into 4 bites. The vegetables (broccoli, peppers, water chestnuts, and celery) were sliced thin and cooked well (though didn't have the distinctive wok-fried smokiness that i love). The beef dish wasn't as good...decent sauce and plenty of broccoli, but the sliced beef wasn't good...very mushy, almost parboiled, similar to the versions at buffets or a Panda Express. There is a full service bar inside, along with a sushi bar manned by a chef. For us, service was very good, with our waters being constantly refilled. Payment was done via clover (though done away from the table). It was a good last meal during our trip.
