Best Asian food in Decatur! The staff is friendly and fast. My favorite is the General Tso's Combo extra spicy. You get pork fried rice and an egg roll with all of the combo meals, which can be substituted for different rice. The egg rolls are a must have and the crab rangoon is great too. I've read a lot of negative reviews about this place and heard about the same but I always give chances to everything for myself and I have to say that I don't quite agree with everyone who's saying the negative comments. Sure it's not going to be a fancy sit down bring the family out for a three course meal, but that's not what I want when I'm ordering takeout. That being said, the dining area is larger than expected, and clean with plenty of windows. Lunch with a few coworkers or a quick bite to eat is just fine, and they do provide real plates and silverware when eating in. The staff is friendly and polite, and I haven't seen anyone swatting at any flies like another reviewer mentioned, but any food prep area that is open will have a few buzzing around. But what really shines is the food. General Tso's seems to be their main seller, but everything I've had off their menu has been quite good. Their dumplings are fresh and handmade, and the sauce for them is spot on for my tastes. They don't skimp on the wontons in their soup, give you extra bags of the crunchy noodles, and we usually get a combo to split between the two of us: they pack that much food into the ubiquitous styrofoam lunch container. Even so, they obviously know that it's enough food for two, because there's always 2 fortune cookies. I only wish they delivered, but it's probably for the best. read more

It really is delicious. I typically get the beef and broccoli. Sometimes I get this steamed dumplings. I love the crab Rangoon from there. They are really fast about having pick up orders ready to go. The employees that work there are respectful and kind. Best Chinese place in town!! Their General Tso's Chicken w/pork fried rice is some of the best I've had. Haven't had a bad dish yet. Pretty much doesn't matter the day or time, my call to order rarely lasts more than about 15 seconds and it's ready almost every time by the time I make the short drive over. The folks at First Wok are doing their best to run efficiently and quickly while still serving carry out orders during COVID-19. Went for small order of takeout and was disappointed with all three! First of all on the menu it reads 4 chicken wings and that's what i expected, like they once were, a whole 3 section wing. Now you get 8 tiny middle sections, that are bland (no drummies), Chicken Lo Mein taste ok but they used round spaghetti noodles instead of flat noodles like they used to. I prefer the flat, which is what i was expecting. The Crab Rangoon was plain cream cheese, the only crab was the grouchy bastard behind the counter taking orders! read more

First, I just so happened into this restaurant I did not think it would be much but boy was I surprised. I am giving First Wok 5 stars for a number of reasons and not just because of the food. Firstly, I was pleasantly greeted as soon as I walked in the door, you may say big deal, but that is the first thing I look for when I am patronizing a business. Secondly, the menus were clear and uncluttered, and easy to understand. After placing my order of broccoli and beef, I had received it about 6 minutes later piping hot. The bill was another shock.... $6.00 and some change that was well worth it for the portions that they serve you. The establishment is clean, not a lot of unnecessary kitchen chatter, a very pleasant place to dine for a quick something to eat Chinese style. I kind of frequented this place in college because I had a really bad chinese food experience at another place in Decatur before I found this place. The food is good and the prices are excellent. The staff is very nice as well, and you have a full view into the kitchen which is nice. I always got take out but there are tables if you want to eat there. The place isn't exactly warm and inviting, but it works. I have personally had much better chinese food in different cities, otherwise I'm sure I would rate it more. For Decatur this is a 4-5 star, but placed up against places in my own town its a 3. Try it! read more

This place is hit or miss. I've had really great food from here, and then again have had really bad food as well. The service is usually pretty good, and the food is generally prepared fresh and very hot. The lunch specials are a really good deal, the General Tso's is good. I've been to this place twice. First vist, my mom and I ate in. I just called in a order to pick up. My mom wanted to add something to the order and the lady on the phone said, have numbers and call back and hung up on me. First time I ordered Lobster Egg Foo Young I paid an extra two dollars for having lobster which turned out to be that fake crab meat stuff that tasted awful. Next time I ordered the chicken wing appetizer which was 8 pieces of chicken wings. All eight pieces were the non drumstick portion of the wing. I've been to this place several times but my previous visit will definitely be my last. You think a open view kitchen would prompt cooks to be more aware of their surroundings.... NEGATIVE! I walked in and immediately noticed cooks swatting at flies (disgusting). As I made my way to the counter I noticed one cook dropping what looked like raw chicken in some type of nasty thick pink batter out in the open. This prompted me to ask, "What is that?" The cashier brushed me off by diverting her attention to something else as if she didn't hear me. I politely asked again and was brushed off a 2nd time. Just then she said something to the cook and he immediately exited to the back with the unknown mixture. This raises red flags to me! I would definitely be aware of this establishment. read more
