This accommodation was acknowledged and honored by 3 prior property management companies without issue. When I spoke with Martha T. she mentioned that an email had been sent requesting parking assignment confirmations. I did not receive that email initially; I only received it later as a forwarded message. During our conversation, when I Spoke to Martha Taylor, I was told "she had missed a few calls and needed to return to work", despite me calling as a tenant with an active concern. I am not a friend, I am not a family member, I am a tenant that pays rent and has been paying rent at this property for over 6 years. I was requesting clarification on why my previously established parking accommodation is now being changed, and I would like this matter reviewed and corrected based on my lease and prior agreements. Their response, it's not our problem, this has been settled already. I never experienced this with Heetwave management, Allstar management. I've had previous property management companies that communicated quickly and consistently. With Buchanan Properties, concerns feel dismissed, with responses indicating it's not their problem.

He responded to any issues I was having and always made sure to help. When my fridge went out on a Fourth of July, he brought me a mini-fridge the next day and had a replacement fridge as soon as possible. He makes that place feel like a community, and not just a place to live. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat. I hope to make it back to the beach once all of this stuff is over. I am super bummed to leave the awesome spot I had.

I payed $950 for a huge two bedroom apartment four blocks from the bay in Point Loma. That's incredible. How can he maintain such low-low prices? Simple. Don't replace anything, ever. The carpet hadn't been changed in at least a decade, and the paint was ripping itself off the walls. The tiled floors looked original. Original 60's. The hand rail leading up the stairs was loose and I refused to put any weight on it, even when stumbling drunk. The windows rattled at the slightest breeze and the roommates and I devised a system using coasters to minimize the noise. Even given all that, I like Paul. We got a few complaints because we threw some pretty big parties . . . on Thursday nights . . . and poker on Mondays, and he was always pretty cool about it. I'd even offer him $100 a month more in rent if he'd change the carpet and paint, but I don't think he'd go for it. Oh, he did do one thing. He replaced the garbage disposal, with a "refurbished" one. He installed it himself.

    We have been wintering in San Diego from Minnesota for 16 years. This past winter, we opted to rent…read morea condo unit through Downtown Condo Guys. It was disaster from the beginning, right through until even after we left. To be fair, the unit was not prepared to be rented. The plumbing was defective a good share of the time; we used plungers in tub and shower; the light fixture series in bath went out completely for five days before repair; the freezer malfunctioned, melting on the floor; handymen came and went at will to assemble furniture, remove furniture; requests made for repairs were slow at response; the washer and dryer completely broke down. We waited a month for it to be replaced. It never was....oh....until five hours after our final departure. The inconceivable event though, was our parking spaces, which were occupied by Management, as they rented out their own spaces. Jamie had an excuse for each event, naturally redirecting blame. I was was almost embarrassed to listen the excuses being manufactured, as he presented them. It was almost a desperate situation for him, as he realized and admitted the fiasco we had lived through. I have certainly learned not to fall for glowing reviews, that he had accumulated. We have now experienced interaction with Downtown Condo Guys and would never, ever recommend to anyone to experience the same. I would have no problem sharing all details, photos, dates, etc., with anyone interested for substantiation.

Although upon move out, she and my landlord decided to charge us $600+ for the INSTALLATION of a light fixture. I didn't mind paying to replace the fixture, as we removed it. But I could have installed it for free so I'm very upset that they had the audacity to charge us that much. We were awesome tenants for over 7 years. You can't help who your property management company is. But if this is yours currently, I'm sorry.

    This is the worst Property Management company I have ever dealt with in my life! Avoid them like…read morethe plague. They are really nice when looking at the property and by telling you about all of the things they will do for you. They will check on this, they will let you know about that, they will do this for you, they will do that for you, it's all fine....blah blah blah... Then you hand them your security deposit and it's like a 180. First of all, the security is a large sum of money - pretty sure it was one and a half times the monthly rent. Do the math - if you apartment is around $2000 that is a lot of money you need to come up with up front. Think in the neighborhood of $5000 that you're handing them with your first month's rent. Then they are going to respond to NONE of your requests while you are living there. I asked several times for them to check on certain things. Phone calls would go unreturned. Emails would not be answered - except if Jennifer was in the loop. She's the admin and she would be very quick to answer. So while I'm there the garbage disposal was broken when I moved in, broke while I lived there, and was broken again when I moved out. I called a several times because the Hammer team tried charging me for the repair but Janet is never around and has no interest in returning phone calls. Seriously, who has time to call and call and call to get random charges reversed. The best part is that once I moved out I was told that my place would need some painting, cleaning, and carpet cleaning. The painting charge was $150, the carpet cleaning was $300 and the "janitorial" was $390. Are you kidding me with this? What a rip off. Do yourself a favor. If you ever see Hammer Real Estate, RUN!!!! Run like your butt is on fire and the nearest water is a mile away!
