I took my sister out to this restaurant for her Birthday. First, we waited for seating, which wasn't a deal breaker. However, once we were finally seated, it took 10 minutes to get our drink orders in. Once we ordered our drinks, the host came over and told us to move to a booth and said "I will take care of your meal." So, we moved. Then our waiter couldn't find us and I had to track him down to let him know that we didn't leave and that we got moved. The storm settled a bit and we placed our orders. Another server brought out our food and was moving from table to table, throughout the restaurant, asking other customers who's food it was. When I noticed it was ours, I had to track her down, too. Everyone received their food and my niece and her friend noticed that their sides were wrong. Instead of stirring the pot some more with the aggravated and confused staff, they ended up switching their sides, themselves. My sister loved her breakfast and thank goodness because it was her big day and I really didn't want to start her day this badly. My breakfast, however, was the eggs benedict. The eggs were completely cooked-not runny at all. I was so disappointed. Once we were done eating, we received the bill. I paid it-even though the host said it would be on the house. I've always really enjoyed First Watch food and the service. With the pandemic we ordered for take out. I was disappointed unfortunately. My pancake was overdone and hard. We also had 2 fruits cups with our order, but were just given small sauce cups with a few pieces of melon. I expect more from First Watch. I will be hesitant to grab another take order from them. I love breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day. I've been itching to try this first watch since it's near my doctors office. My husband and I went in and there was soooo many egg-cellent choices it was hard to decide. I finally went with the avocado toast and was so glad I did! Since I'm pregnant I had to request the eggs be fully cooked and a couple of other modifications but everything came out perfect. We never felt rushed, even though the place was bustling. First watch was always a fan of ours. Especially since they have a good rep for fresh food and who doesn't love supporting their home state? Unfortunately, I was super disappointed with everything. The Million dollar bacon was my all time favorite. But it didn't have that chewy crispy texture anymore. It was more stale and hard to eat actually. Not my definition of fresh. All my money would go to the home potatoes. Now this is how freshness is suppose to taste. Crispy on the outside,still intact and perfectly cooked on the inside. Soft enough to melt in your mouth but not too soft that it's mushy and messy to eat. We also got the trifecta. The Waffle wasnt as crispy. I give credits to the syrup though. Super warm when it was poured and dizzle on the waffle. The over easy eggs were also one of the highlights. Lastly, the chimichanga was most disappointing. It was very oily, felt microwaved and then refried. The tortilla was mushy instead of nice and crispy. And everything in the chimichanga didn't blend nicely together. There were chunks of green pepper and big chunks of avocado here and there. Definitely wasn't feeling the texture of everything. We also ordered cold brew but it didn't taste strong at all. Had breakfast here first thing in the morning so there was literally no waiting for a table nor service. Parking was empty in the shopping plaza. Usually it's packed so it could be tricky finding a spot. Walked in and was immediately sat. Server came and took my order quickly. I knew what I wanted so there was no wait. 3 eggs, english muffin, seasoned potatoes and bacon. I also ordered an unsweet tea. Food came out quickly and arranged nicely on the plate. Eggs were scrambled perfectly, english muffin was nicely toasted and bacon was crispy and delicious. My meal was good- the two kid meals I ordered also were good . However my older daughter and fiancé had an awful , awful meal. They would have complained but the waitress didn't check on us even once after giving us our food. That means no refills either. My kiddo said the fruit crepes tasted like tortillas dipped in strawberry yogurt. My fiancé said the salad was flavorless and not very green. The soup was disappointing. Also , I bought a $$ juice and no one even offered me water for after I was done. I walked out disappointed and would have rather spent money at Libby's , Mellow Mushroom or Dublin Donuts I'm the same plaza. This was my 1st visit to any First Watch location and I had to wonder...Why did I wait so long. Arriving around 10 am to find there was only a 10 minute wait. When we left at 11 am, the wait was around 20. Not bad for a busy morning, but arriving earlier is the better. Enjoy free coffee while you wait. The juices were calling my name so I enjoyed a "Morning Meditation." This cold blend of orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, agave & beet was just the kick to finish waking up. I ordered the Huevos Ranchero that was served on top of crispy tostadas, with avocado, sunny side up eggs, crema, chorizo, feta, cilantro.....and it was as good as is sounds! It was served up with a fresh & unusual slaw of chipotle black bean. Tasty, fresh, and I loved that it was a different spin on slaw. I also liked that First Watch didn't automatically just go with beans on the tostada. My son had the Floridian French toast which he said he would have just enjoyed the French toast as the fruit didn't taste so fresh today. He enjoyed it just the same. We both really liked the bisquit and turkey gravy. Until I found out it was turkey gravy, it reminded me of a corned beef hash. The bisquit was fluffy, big, and there was plenty of gravy. This is probably my third time coming here with family. we visit maybe once a year or so. The food was subpar and cold. The minute my family and I sat down we noticed cleanliness was lacking big time. The table was so sticky, the mugs they gave us had a previous customers lipstick on it, and utensils were not clean either. When I asked them to wipe down the table, they did so with a dry rag? I'm never sure what to do when a company invites you to come back and try them again with either a discount, a free app, or a complimentary meal. The management here reached out to me after my review. On one hand, I'm glad they care enough to ask me to try again and I really like free stuff. Like it was shaped like 2 fried eggs, but it was all yellow and solid like scrambled eggs that no one broke up with a spatula. She just doesn't like runny yokes. She can't be the first person to ever order that???? I simply can't justify this as a valid breakfast/brunch option. It's way too expensive to be MEH and it was all MEH in a massive way. The service wasn't the best, especially since it wasn't full, but I understand many places are dealing with staffing issues so I try not to judge too harshly. The food was pretty good! We started with the seasonal pumpkin spice donuts which come with two dipping sauces: salted caramel apple butter and creme anglaise. The creme was so tasty! I also tried one of their seasonal drinks: cinnamon toast cereal milk which was so yummy! It had rum, kahlua, coconut milk and cinnamon. I paired that with the smoked salmon and roasted vegetable frittata which was just the right amount of food to leave you satisfied but not overly full. The roasted tomatoes in the frittata were a great pop of flavor. My boyfriend had another season item: the truffle mushroom hash. You could smell the truffle when they brought the dish to the table. Didn't bother to bring the other items we ordered. Waffles were cold and dried out. Other tables seated well after us somehow received their orders well before us. A solid and reasonably priced brunch place in Winter Park. After finishing our move into our new house, my wife and I decided to take our friends to brunch to say thank you for helping. While my wife and I hadn't had the best experience with other First Watch venues in the past, we figured we would give this one a try since it was open early and right next door. Boy am I glad we did. Located in the Aloma Shopping Plaza near the Aloma movie theater, First Watch is a nice little breakfast restaurant with lots of outside seating. Since they are part of the shopping plaza, finding parking wasn't an issue. Once we arrived, we grabbed a seat and the host brought out some water and coffee for everyone, as well as a doggie bowl for the pup. He did all of this despite the fact that he wasn't going to be our waiter! That is some good service right there. After a few minutes, our waiter did come out and start taking our order. I decided to order the Elevated Egg Sandwich, one of the highlighted items on their menu. Everyone else placed their order and we proceeded to chat while waiting for our food. The atmosphere was rather friendly (everyone wanted to stop and pet our dog) and the waiter and host often came to refill drinks and crack jokes. After a reasonable amount of time, our food came out and we all dug in. My elevated egg sandwich, which came with bacon and made for a fun take on breakfast, was great. The potatoes that came on the side were well cooked and seasoned properly. Everyone else at the table generally seemed to like their food, so I was happy to have a good experience and eat some great food. Overall, this First Watch location is a solid early opening breakfast/brunch spot with great service and good food. So first and last time to this location. I don't mind paying extra for fresh food but when the waitress Rhonda wants to argue the fact with a paying customer I believe she needs to be retrained, not sure if Brad the manager even gave it a thought. I was so surprised when my husband & I stopped here after our 5k! We wanted something super healthy but also fairly priced, which usually are hard to find and don't come hand in hand very often. This place was busy but was able to seat us quickly and the wait staff were very friendly. The menu is packed with super healthy options that you don't find everywhere! Wow, a First Watch location where I can be seated right away?! Yes. It is true. My husband and I have been here twice. Each time we were one of two or three tables in the entire restaurant. The servers have all been extremely friendly, and they're always smiling. The entire staff seems great. And the food....well, you just can't go wrong. I fully intended to write a review walking into the store. I fully intended that review to be good but unfortunately our server had other ideas. My husband and I were seated and brought our coffee and drinks very quickly but no silverware or water. When the food came out my husband saw they had brought something he did not order and asked them to make the correct item. We also asked for water and silverware at this time. When they finally brought his food to the table we still had no water or silverware so we had to go find our server to ask again. When it came time to pay the bill not only did they not discount anything for the inconvenience but they charged us for the item we did not order! When we asked them to correct it up front they rolled their eyes and then changed it to the correct item. Very disappointing experience. I have been coming to this location for several years. It is sad to watch the quality of service and food decline. From the minute we walked in the door: the host stand had two employees standing their talking about their personal lives while we stood and waiting to be greeted. The table we were led to had standing liquid under the table, it was explained to us that the table previously had kids and they made a mess... not my problem. When asked if we could get a towel or a mop so our feet weren't some unknown liquid our server returned with a dirty towel and handed to me. So I cleaned up the mess, then asked if we could get a dry towel to wipe up the mess. Should have left then. We ordered: The orders came out incorrect. The eggs were asked to be over easy they came out over hard.... the bacon was under cooked and COLD. When I told my server, they asked me what I would like to do? I asked to have my meal prepared correctly. 2nd try: Bacon was cooked but COLD like it had been sitting in a refrigerator. The eggs came back correct but it seems they took the new eggs and laid them over the old potatoes as everything else on the plate was co Sadly, the quality of service and food has dropped to a point that we won't return. read more
