I was craving avocado toast so I thought I'd give 1st Watch a shot. The avocado toast comes with 2 eggs which I got over medium. The mashed avocado has a little salt & olive oil on it. I added onions & tomatoes & placed my eggs on top to create a Benedict type effect. The toast seemed smaller in person than the restaurant picture but I enjoyed it with the extra onion & tomato toppings. The butter grits were a little too "corn-tasting" for my liking. I wouldn't get them again. My husband's homemade chicken sausage & waffle were both really good. First Watch is a nice change of pace from just your standard breakfast menu of eggs, pancakes/waffles/french toast , and bacon/pork sausage. It's got several more healthy & fresh options like salad as an omlette side, ham, and chicken & turkey sausage. Their smoked salmon frittata is also quite good. Update: Dined in for a quick breakfast at this location. Now that it's been open a while, when you walk in, it's crowded full of children so the service can be slow. The hostess wasn't very outgoing or confident. Way too many families for my taste. I just don't think of First Watch as being filled with little kids. My food was good. That is a consistent factor. First Watch is my annual bday week indulgence - partly because I get a BOGO coupon from their eclub. I almost made a call to a friend to ask if they wanted anything for brunch and I will order as the 2nd entree, but I decided against that when I saw on the summer menu the Tres Leches French Toast. If you love Tres Leches and Strawberries, this French Toast will blow your MIND! As soon as I took a bite, I already knew I would be packing the other entree up to go. The Tres Leches entree, however, is not recommended to be taken home or eat the next day or even later because it will be extremely soggy. Instead, be greedy like me and eat the whole dang thing! It was worth the calories. If you have to change your cheat day to eat it, DO IT! It's that gooooood! The gooeyness is scrumpteous! Service was top nocth as I always experience at First Watch anywhere I go, so no reason not to go. The food is okay. Every time we've as a family we've always had to send something back. I called twice this morning and they hung up in my face before I could start talking both times. I have found my favorite dish! Finally!! I've tried many things here. Most I really like but this falls in the love category. I've never had chia seed pudding but I'm definitely a fan. There's fresh fruit, fruit compote & homemade granola on top. It comes with a side of multi-grain toast with nut butter--maybe almond butter? Super good dish. The sweetness of the compote and crunch of the granola made this dish a ten for me. Who doesn't love layers of flavor & texture. Now keep in mind, this is in the "healthy" column on the menu but it's not low calorie. It notes 900ish calories in the dish. Good thing I worked out beforehand. Oh and their coffee is really good. I drink it black so it has to be quality beans or I will be able to tell. It's fairly strong without a bitter aftertaste. Husband got the Trifecta with an extra egg. It came with 2 eggs, waffle or pancake and a meat choice. Hubs said it was good but the waffle, while it had a good taste, should've been crispy. He said he'd get it again but with the pancakes. it's a little hard to write a good review when its food to go. My order was ready when I arrived, and it was still warm. I was greeted by the hostess when I arrived, and she pointed me to the rack where my food was. It was a little crowded at the time 1330 hrs (for a breakfast place), so that is always a good sign. We had the Frittata Rustica and the Cobb Salad. Both were very good and flavorful. We shared the Frittata and it had a really good taste to it. The Cobb salad was also on point. The service was excellent, My ordered was taken promptly and it was correct. One problem was the pork links had pink areas in it. Pork should never be undercooked; however, my waitress,Tanesha, attempted to correct the problem. When the second batch still had problems ; she got the manager to fix it. You really could not ask for anything more. They split the links , and all was well. They wanted to be sure I was pleased, and I was. My thanks for making it right. I will certainly visit again. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. Our family has eaten at First Watches from here to Florida, and have largely always been satisfied. We were thrilled when this location opened closed to home, but our first experience there was so bad we didn't return again... until today. Huge mistake. So huge we never even got sat or saw a plate. We signed onto the waitlist online, with an approx sit time of 25 minutes. We arrived within 15 minutes and prepared to wait for 10ish more minutes. Restaurant was in chaos. I (along with others ahead of me) stood waiting up front just to even be greeted for easily over 10 minutes. No one even looked at us when they came near. Meanwhile, an irate man stormed in bc his to-go order had been given to another person and he'd been waiting for over an hour - he left empty handed. By the time the "greeter" took my name - without any warmth/smile/friendliness - it had been 30 minutes since my online waitlist. As we stood there I overheard another couple say they'd been waiting over 15 minutes past their online sign up. And another patron who'd been waiting for her to-go order for OVER AN HOUR! So I went back to the super couldn't-give-a-crap that we were there "greeter" and asked where we were on the list and she told me it'd be at least another 25 minutes... WTH is the point of getting in line online?! I said forget it and we left. Between however long the wait would end up being and how long it would likely take to be served, we might be spending the night there. Before this location opened, I had only been to First Watch once, but I now frequent this location since it's nearby. The servers here are always pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and attentive! The food here is delicious and the portion sizes are generous for the most part. I've tried a couple of their items but pictured is the oatmeal and purple haze juice. The oatmeal was regular oatmeal with the fixings - came with a muffin of the day. The purple haze juice was amazing! It's really flavorful, and I highly recommend! I've also had the waffle with chocolate chips + pecans. This was a nice size and delicious. The eggs and potatoes were regular but not bad. I do wish the potatoes had a little more seasoning and maybe onion/bell pepper. The million dollar bacon was great! It is on the sweeter side, so I could only have one slice. Tldr: Overall the service was decent and the food was meh. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to get a table in 10 minutes for a party of 2. Our server was nice and quickly poured us some coffee, though the coffee itself was sour. We ordered the Morning Meditation drink, the smoked salmon Benedict with a side of seasoned potatoes, and the Chickichanga. The drink was refreshing and the ginger was not overpowering. The flavors were balanced very well and was not too sweet. We waited about half an hour for our food. We did not get any updates until 15 minutes, when the server said there was some kind of issue about chicken. When the food arrived, it was lukewarm. The eggs on my Benedict were not consistent. One was hard boiled while the other was undercooked and cold, where the egg white was a bit slimy. Flavors on it were meh. There wasn't much flavor, but the pickled onions helped. The bread was nicely toasted and fluffy. The potatoes were a tad undercooked and plain. For seasoned potatoes, I was hoping for a lot more flavor, it just tasted like boiled potatoes. read more
