Two stars for the food that was very tasty. However... Went to Sunday brunch, which is their busiest time. Told the wait was about 30 minutes. No problem. After 50 minutes, I inquired and miracles or miracles! A table was open! Yeah, ok. Nice table, nice server. We order juices--very nice--and my wife orders soup and sandwich and I order a veggie burger. About ten minutes later, they bring out a soup and sandwich and a turkey burger. I point out the error and they apologize to say that the replacement is coming urgently. Well, I sat there for ten minutes watching my wife eat and after mine came, she sat there watching me eat. Before anyone says it might have been a kitchen error, the server admitted to putting in the wrong dish. I go to pay, and the cashier (manager?) asks me how everything was, and I tell him. He essentially shrugs and says that Sundays are like that. No apology, no offer to comp a drink or even say that he hopes we still come back. He didn't seem at all bothered by our less than satisfactory experience. It's ok, though--Oxford has a ton of restaurants open on Sunday morning. read more

This was my second time at First Watch. Both times have been wonderful. The servers are warm and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is inviting but a bit loud. The food is amazing! I enjoyed the winter special strawberry tres leches French toast with a side of bacon. Others in my party had the Works omelette and biscuit n gravy. The coffee was good but a bit strong (and I like strong coffee usually). I love the donut holes and the million dollar bacon apps. Will definitely be back. I'm not sure about the warehouse comment in the description. Seems unrelated. It's an overall cute spot. Elote burrito- overall good, could use seasoning in the eggs and potatoes or some of the sauce inside. Pesto chicken quinoa bowl- great! Love the creamy sauce 2 eggs over easy- cooked perfectly Chocolate chip pancake- kids loved it but the bacon was not crispy enough for them. Half n half tea- just didn't taste sweet at all. Such a cute place! The staff were nice and attentive, as well. My Bacado Omelette was alright. The egg portion of the omelette was very good, but it could've used a salsa instead of pico de gallo. I subbed the Greens for the Seasoned Potatoes, and I didn't care for them. A lot of them had more burned pieces and had a bitter aftertaste. Picking through, the potatoes that's weren't burned were pretty good. My husband got the BLT Egg's Benedict. He enjoyed it but thought the hollandaise could have been more flavorful. He also ate my wheat bread with the preserves and liked that, too. The Tres Leches French Toast was good! No complaints there. Overall, it was pretty good. This is the first, First Watch, that I have ever been to. I had a chicken bowl and Morning Meditation juice and both were outstanding!

Clean. Prompt and friendly service. Menu has what one would expect for a breakfast/brunch menu. Central/easy location as it relates to Oxford. A little pricey for breakfast (party of four, bill was $72 before tip) but not atypical these days. I was disappointed that they didn't offer alcoholic beverages, as my understanding is a lot of "First Watch's" do. A mimosa or breakfast cocktail would've been nice. If you're looking for a breakfast spot this place will likely hit the mark. I wouldn't call it a traditional "brunch spot" as they don't serve alcohol. read more

I eat at First Watch in Oxford multiple times a month. It's my preferred food destination when I want something relatively healthy. The food is always fresh and hot. The wait staff are exceptional. I love the menu selection as I prefer breakfast for lunch most days. The only drawback is how loud the restaurant is. Obviously a full restaurant is going to be a little loud. Would be nice if they had a couple of sound absorbent tiles around. All in all I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Oxford. read more

Their waitlist system is horrible and can not be trusted. Why get on the wait list at 8:15, be given an 60 minute wait time, check in at 9am and wait another 55 minutes and final get a table at 10am. What a joy this place is. This happens every time I go there. After waiting long enough I asked where I was in line and was told I was the next table of 5. I saw 3 more tables of 5 sit down. Your place in line isn't set until you check-in at the restaurant, so it saves you no time. The method of checking in and paying at the front is inefficient and frustrating. I made it clear, I have a wheat allergy and it was overlooked, and I made it home and my food had wheat in it. I had to drive back to First Watch. The food is always fresh and good. The large menu has lots of healthy options, good protein, fresh fruits as well as comfort food like biscuits & gravy. They offer a nice mix of sandwiches and soup and the artisan bread & jam is to die for. The wait staff are excellent- efficient and nice. One warning: bring a coat. The restaurant is always freezing. Not just cool or even cold - it's a walk-in freezer. My husband & I both wore coats today (it was 82 degrees outside but we came prepared for the arctic blast) & I had a wool scarf over my legs. While visiting Oxford, Mississippi to see our daughter who attends OleMiss, we decided to have breakfast at First Watch just a short drive from the historic Oxford, MS square and OleMiss campus toward Baptist Hospita. This was our second visit and we absolutely love it. The decor is modern nostalgic with sever tables and booths, exposed brick, and an open kitchen. Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, the menu offerings are gourmet, creative, extensive and inspiring. They offer coffee pots on tables and free soft drink refills and the mostly college student staff are all extremely friendly with Southern hospitality and manners. After traveling the world I must say there's no better breakfast casual dining that will be better, our eggs, sausage, potatoes, and French Toast were perfect. My spouse enjoyed a unique Eggs Benedict BLT and loved it. Looking at the menu, you could try something new, intriguing and different every day for a month and love everything. It's reasonably priced, but worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, it's fresh, fun and inviting. A peaceful experience. We noticed mostly locals and families all enjoying it.
