Our group dined here today for our almost weekly meetup. I ordered the frittata rustica again today with option to do seasonal fruit (instead of dressed greens) as well as a request for wheat toast, dry. I also decided to try the cranberry juice today, which was refreshing with the slight tartness. Raven was our server again this week and she is phenomenal. My toast order arrived heavily buttered and she quickly brought a replacement slice. This place can sometimes get fairly busy and noise level is moderate to high. It's pumpkin pancake season. We are celebrating the fall season early with a pumpkin pancake breakfast. Service was excellent and very attentive. The breakfast was filling for us both and it doesn't hurt that we received a buy one get one free online coupon. They emailed me a BOGO coupon so obviously we had to go! We were quickly seated and given menus, the new fall menu items looked really tasty. My partner ordered the Honey Chipotle Chicken Mash from the fall menu and I ordered the Chickichanga. The chipotle chicken mash was tasty, I didn't care for the lemon sauce on top of my dish. I love lemon unfortunately I felt like the sauce took over. My favorite breakfast, well no but it's solid and they have a large menu making it easy for everyone to find something they like. I love first watch. We go here regularly. It's always really quick service and the food is always consistent quality. I know exactly what to expect. I love their juice selection but their coffee is just okay. I've never been wowed by their drip coffee and their cold brew is almost TOO strong. But it's consistent in its quality so it's not like I go in expecting an amazing cup of coffee. read more

First Watch is a well executed and enjoyable breakfast and lunch spot! Everyone at First Watch seems happy to be working there, which is always a good sign. They have a huge selection of items on the menu. The orders come out quickly and are prepared consistently. My favorite dishes are the omelettes. The omelettes are served with a small salad and toast. This option makes me happy to have a more healthy meal and fewer calories. The meals are very reasonably priced for a restaurant with table service. My goal is to try every omelette on the menu! There is plenty of free parking surrounding the restaurant. The entrance is very obviously located near the street with the host station just inside the entrance. They can get busy so I do recommend downloading there mobile app to get a place in line before you arrive. Be sure to sign up online so you can get discount offers. A few times during the year they offer discount gift cards as well. read more

We were under no rush and enjoyed our time since my daughter was visiting us from St Louis. I will never understand the fascination with corrugated metal walls, but I digress. I think the server I had was new, because she did not ask a single question when I placed my order. I got the veggie burger (A seasoned all-natural patty of brown rice, Peppadew peppers, onions, carrots and mushrooms. Served on a brioche bun with fresh smashed avocado, organic mixed greens, tomato, red onion and a side of Dijonnaise.) I asked for the avocado to be on the side. This did not happen and I also was not given the dijonaise. The mixed greens were OK, they were in a very vinegary dressing. I also ordered a side of the grits with butter and those were amazing, the best thing I ate. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. The strongest 5/5 I could give. We had no wait on a Sunday Morning before 11 o clock rush but it was still poppin inside. The waiter was extremely friendly and their decor and interior vibe was super cute and chic. The outside looks modern and Eve has a wall mural for a pop of color and the inside has a cute chalk seasonal menu. This is a brunch place and the windows brought in great sunlight and the tables were nice too. But the FOOD. I'm a torn lover between sweet and savory and they had the perfect options. They had a new shareable item that was a mixed berry cake/bread with fresh berries on top and lemon glaze and granola. It was so amazing and the perfect amount of sweetness to add with our Skillet Hash. We got the Farmhouse Hash and Parma Hash and both were super yummy and filling! They were great portions that we were absolutely stuffed at the end. The potatoes and everything were the perfect crispyness and flavor. Nothing bad about anything I ate. Had to pick my granddaughters Mercedes and she ask to visit the First Watch restaurant in the highlands, so the atmosphere was great and the service was great, but the menu, full of weird healthy type fu fu food choices, nothing really for a meat and potato kind of guy, but I embraced it and ordered the BLTE bacon lettuce tomato and egg, free range egg at that, had no taste, was just weird. I did order the tomato basil soup, it was great! Highlight of the meal. I visit First Watch quite often in my own city (Indianapolis) but I tried all new items during my stay in Louisville, as I visited my family for the holidays. There was no wait at the Taylorsville location...which was a pleasant surprise because there's usually at least a 1 hour wait anytime I go to a First Watch. Our server was Miracle and she did amazing! We went on the Sunday after Kentucky Derby for brunch and experienced all around good service. One of my sisters made our reservation for a party of 4 and upon arriving I checked us in and we didn't have to wait longer than about 15 minutes. The restaurant was busy so the food took a little long to come out but once it got there it tasted good and we were all really happy with what we ordered.
