    Turkey burger
    Christine G.

We wanted to stop for lunch on our way out on a midday on Saturday, so we stopped in. They have an amazing turkey burger my husband loves, so we decided to order that and a club sandwich. Food came out quickly, but we had no napkins or silverware. My husband had to get up and look for our server to get silverware. Unacceptable. The restaurant was busy, but not like a morning rush this place normally has. Food was very good, although no offer of drink refills either. I find the service is inconsistent here. Sometimes the experience is good, sometimes there are issues. They have a nice atmosphere and a good menu, and our server was very polite. Upon leaving to pay at the register, food was spilled across the floor, and not cleaned up. We had to walk around to avoid stepping in pancakes or berries smeared on the floor. Not what you want to see. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is for the food and menu. The service at this location is still seeing repeat issues, more like 3 stars.

We waited an hour for food. There was no other table waiting for food when we got here. Other tables that came well after us were served first. When the food came it was cold. The eggs were running out not poached.

I've never had a bad culinary experience when dining at First Watch! This location didn't disappoint! Service was friendly and fast! Food was hot and delicious! I tried the Million Dollar Potatoes and omg so savory and flavorful i couldn't get enough!!

Love the coffee carafes that they leave on each table!

Lately, my husband and I have had good luck at First Watch. We visit for breakfast once or twice a month, and more often if their specials are good. Their current seasonal special of two eggs with chicken sausage and one pumpkin pancake is VERY good. I don't often get pancakes when I go out for breakfast, but their pumpkin pancakes are absolutely carb-worthy. They serve it with warmed syrup, too. And they've gotten better about adding enough cheese to my scrambled eggs, and making sure it's melted into the eggs. I'm a big fan of this dish. When we don't find specials that catch our eyes, my husband and I rotate between their omelets and skillets. The Farmhouse Skillet is excellent, as are the Ham and Gruyère and Chili Chorizo Omelets. Their toasted Ham and Gruyère sandwich for lunch is pretty amazing, too. Their coffee is nice and strong, and I appreciate that they leave a carafe--and half-and-half creamer pods--on each table for an easy refill. I do want to mention the service, because it's always exceptional at this location...especially when we have Tonika ("Toni") as our server. She always has a smile on her face, and she greets us warmly every time she sees us return. I was mortified when I knocked over my coffee one time, and she (and another staff member) graciously helped me to clean it up. I also appreciate that I can pay with Apple Pay at the register. It's so easy to pay this way, and I wish more restaurants would offer this option! First Watch is definitely on our short list for local breakfast spots.

Very nice location, and great service. Got there less than an hour before closing and the service was still amazing and did not feel rushed at any point during our service. The music was at a good level and it was not too cold inside. All of the food came out hot and was so delicious.

I'm always pleased when dining at First Watch. Each one has a different layout but they each give good food and good service. They're always busy but they always work hard. Glasses are always full because they bring you a bottle of water for the table. They offer flavored creamers for your coffee, not just milk. Each one has lots of windows to keep it bright and well lit. Some have bar space while others only have indoor seating. The decor is rustic and comfortable. When it's time to pay, you pay at the register not the server so you don't have to wait around. I enjoy eating here whether by myself or with friends.

Updated Review (10/22/22) After an excellent experience on the initial visit, decided to try them again. Honestly, I wish I had just not done it. From the time of sitting down to the time of leaving (1hr 45mins), it was an absolutely tragic experience. It took literally 15 mins for someone just to come over and greet us and take our drink order. Others around us on the patio were just as frustrated. At that point, we ordered both drinks and food...just in case another wait was in store. Well...that wait came to fruition. SMH It took another 40-45 mins for our food to come out. When it came out, it wasn't everything that was ordered. It was just absolute chaos. The only "silver lining" (if you want to call it that) was that our food was comped, which was appreciated and thankful for that. But even with the food being comped, the experience was beyond subpar. I would have rather paid for my food and had better service. I'm not sure if this experience was due to being seated outside and forgotten about, or if it also occurred with inside seating. I'll probably give it a good amount of time before going back, because I'd like to give them another chance.

First time eating brunch here. We arrived late morning on a weekday. No wait and not too busy. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Frittata. I asked that the cheese and chive cream be omitted (which they did). It came with a mixed greens salad that was already dressed with a lemon dressing but the dressing flavor was barely discernible. Nevertheless, the salad was very good and probably the best part of this meal. It looked and tasted fresh. The frittata, however, had a couple of problems - the onions were undercooked and still crunchy, the tomatoes tasted burned and were very soggy, and the frittata was overcooked. The frittata was still edible but I won't be ordering that again. Thankfully, the menu is pretty extensive with a lot of options. Hubs had the Ham and Gruyère omelet. It also came with a mixed greens salad. His meal looked and tasted delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We both ordered herbal tea. I like that they give you several options of teas and leave them and a small pitcher of hot water on the table in case you want more than one cup. And speaking of cups, I also like the size of their mugs. It's great for when you want a large mug of coffee or tea. Service was great. Our server took our order quickly, the food arrived quickly and she checked on us a couple times and made sure we were finished before dropping the bill and telling us how to pay. The atmosphere was relaxed. We'll definitely return and try something else.

Fresh Egg - Where Diets Go to Die (Happily)…read more Our group of 4 1/2 (yes, somebody only ate half their plate because self-control showed up late ) walked into Fresh Egg thinking we were just grabbing breakfast... and walked out needing a nap and a moment of silence. Let's talk FOOD. That omelet? Fluffy like it trained at egg boot camp. Stuffed with sausage, ham, bacon, cheese basically the Avengers of breakfast. The home fries were crispy golden cubes of perfection. Not soggy. Not greasy. Just straight-up breakfast excellence. The ham slices were thick and flavorful like they meant business. That biscuit sandwich? Soft, buttery, and holding everything together like a breakfast superhero. And those cheesy grits? Creamy enough to make you emotional. Add melted cheddar and it's basically Southern comfort in a bowl. Portions? Generous. Flavor? Elite. Coffee? Flowing like we were at a caffeine convention. Now let's talk about Jonathan Jonathan delivered AMAZING service. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being forced, and on top of everything like a breakfast conductor running a delicious orchestra. Drinks stayed filled, food came out hot, and he made sure our whole crew felt taken care of. That kind of service turns a good meal into a great experience. The vibe inside? The only reason I'm docking a star is for the side of corn muffins I ordered. They were, unfortunately, a complete letdown. They were hard, dry, and truly tasted like small stones. Even piling on the soft, fresh butter couldn't save them. However, the excellent service and the positive experience with the main dishes and coffee easily outweigh one bad side item. We had a good meal overall, and I would definitely go back again (and just skip the corn muffins next time!).

My server was amazing as we (Im)patiently waited for him. I ordered the roasted beet tower to start. My husband's only complaint was chasing the tiny beets around the plate (first world problems) I chose to have a cup of their creamy chicken soup. No rice, no potato filler - cream based, fresh chicken mushrooms and carrots danced around my mouth. Topped with Gruyère (I think) each bite was like a rich warm hug from grandma Our entrees arrived in a timely manner - him having the ahi tuna poke bowl. He chose to substitute the rice for mixed greens. He devoured the entree and noted the tuna being sweet for the longer sear - his fault, he forgot to ask for it to be cooked extremely rare or done raw, poke style as it was to be a poke bowl which is typically served raw. I chose the harvest bowl. A base of rice and quinoa topped with Brussel sprouts, beets, greens, goat cheese, and butternut squash. I chose to add grilled shrimp. Holy cow. I felt like all of the vegetables were home grown from the chef's garden. Perfectly roasted and seasoned. An impressive rice/quinoa topped vegetable ratio exceeded all expectations!!!

Everyone in our group had some kind of breakfast offering ... and they offered some really creative choices. Service was on point, and everything came out together and hot. The only misstep was the lack of onion on one order. Coffee was hearty. They have a lot of outdoor seating in back facing the courtyard, and even some in the front yard: these outdoor arears effectively double the seating capacity of the restaurant, and both are totally dependent on the weather. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Recommended.

Went in tonight with my husband for a nice dinner, and this place has been on my "must-try" list…read morefor a while now... and let me tell you--it did NOT disappoint From the moment we walked in, the space itself set the tone. It's absolutely beautiful inside--warm, cozy, and intimate in a way that makes you feel like you've stepped into a little escape Perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening out. We were seated pretty quickly, which is always a great start. Our server, Ashlene, was an absolute gem Her sweet personality and warm smile made the whole experience even better. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave some really great recommendations (we love a server who knows their stuff ). We kicked things off with drinks I had the spiced cherry mule, and my husband ordered a margarita--both were genuinely delicious and well-made. For starters, we shared the artisan bread (perfectly done, soft with just the right texture ) and a shrimp cocktail. The only tiny note: the cocktail sauce was a little on the bitter/strong side, so just go easy with it When it came time for the main course, my husband kept it light, but I went with Ashlene's recommendation--the Cajun chicken pasta--and WOW They make their pasta fresh (HELLO YES ), and it was flavorful, creamy, and not dry at all. To wrap things up, we shared the Budino for dessert and it was the perfect sweet ending. We both loved it. Overall, such a great experience from start to finish. Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food, and standout service--definitely a spot we'll be coming back to

The filet also had no flavor and the mashed tasted like absolutely nothing. The salads that came on our plate were covered in blue cheese, which I can't stand. So I barely ate it. The drinks and chocolate cake (which was $7 more) were the highlight of the night. The server was great. Patient and really friendly. The stocky, middle aged man walking the floor all night, coming up to tables multiple times asking how everything is was....odd. Leave us alone to enjoy our meal. Go run food or drinks or maybe help season those awful mashed potatoes.

He heard good reviews so i figured he knows me well, so why not. As soon as I went in, I was greeted and seated. The menu looked great but I was stuck between 2 items. The waitress encouraged me to get both and even substituted my pancakes. Everything tasted great and it took no time for me to receive my order. The Caramel Apple Crisp Pancakes were amazing, even though I should have asked for syrup, it was great without it. I also tried the Coastal Crab Cake Benny with grits and I was full right after. The ambience reminded me of home, everyone appeared to talk with everyone, it wasn't loud, the waiters and waitresses were speaking to customers like they knew them for years. I will definitely return and try some other items, but I definitely recommend anyone to go!

I brought my fiance who has never hit a pickleball to this place. From the staff helping her, to the guidance by other players, I just can't say enough positives. The layout of this place is awesome. The courts are great. The fellow players are competitive but kind. I wish I had another set of hands and arms so I could give this place 4 thumbs up. All of it is super modern, clean, and well designed. Now onto the food specifically - I heard it was really good so I decided to order some lunch. My only complaint is there's no way to order online so I had to call my order in. I got a burger and fries, chicken wings, and guacamole. The burger was great, I have no complaints at all, and the fries were fresh and flavorful. The wings were jumbo and juicy. I don't think I'll order the barbalo sauce next time, but other than that the wings were amazing. They come with fresh celery and carrots and blue cheese/ranch. Overall I was impressed. And the guacamole was fresh, chunky, and tasted great. The chips were good too, honestly no complaints and would order again. Overall I was surprised how good the food is here being a pickleball facility. The restaurant area is honestly much nicer than most restaurants in the Lake Norman area and I wouldn't think twice about taking someone here for lunch. Everything feels well run, thought out, and I'm glad to see it looks like they're growing fast. I showed up on a Tuesday afternoon and the parking lot was full to the brim - I honestly thought they must be sharing parking with someone else but no, it was just as full of people on the inside.
