Food delicious, service friendly and great to go during the week when it's less busy. This location used to be a Dennys and they turned it into a first watch restaurant. It looks more open and bigger than what it was before. The blueberry lemon cornbread is a great try but is seasonal. The bowl is another nice option that includes everything you would want for breakfast. The music though in certain spots was a little loud and louder than you find at other locations. Ambiance is cute but it's so packed on the weekend. We started with a specialty holiday caramel coffee. It was ok but nothing i would order again. I was in the area Wednesday after an early morning meeting, and decided to stop by for a bite. It's located in a strip mall right off the Palmetto with plenty of parking so it is pretty convenient. As the name implies, it is a breakfast and early lunch spot "cousin" of that famous chain 'D'iner but with a few healthier plates and as I noticed on the menu yesterday, some cocktails. I will have to come back for those though (maybe a lazy Sunday brunch). That rounds up to 4 stars. The interior is a little more modern-looking and almost aerier than its competitors, and the Miami Lakes location has some outside seating. The hostess was pleasant & energetic, and my waiter pretty attentive. For my bites, I enjoyed their chicken pesto quinoa "power bowl". Served with a quinoa base, chicken breast, tomatoes, and a smattering of greens it weas healthy and tasty. I undid the healthy and satisfied my sweet tooth with a Belgian waffle with berry compote. Came for breakfast with a couple of friends for the first time and had an overall good experience. Our server was one of the best servers I've had in a long time. He was very attentive and apologized for the long wait. I can see how some people would be upset about the 30 min wait to get a table and prob at least another 30-40 min wait to get the food once we ordered. However, this was not an issue for me because I was just looking for a place to catch up with my friends While enjoying a meal. Now for the important part--the food! I tried their classic breakfast option that comes with 2 eggs, bacon, chicken sausage or turkey sausage, potatoes and toast. Everything came out great and was a good deal for $12. We also tried the hot chocolate and though it's a water hot chocolate, the waiter recommended adding the whip cream and that really did the trick--specially in one of Miami's coldest morning of the year. Placed an order for pick up that shouldn't take long- tres leches French toast and the brisket hash. Shouldn't take that long right? Because my estimated time for pickup was about 10 minutes after I placed the order. Except, I was waiting for over 40 minutes, almost an hour for my order! The food wasn't warm, it was at best, room temperature. . The French toast tasted very good but again not warm or hot. You can see this in the picture the butter just sits on the piece it isn't melted. Do you have food warmers? Potatoes were white not golden which means they are not cooked all the way. Have been wanting to check out First Watch for a while and quite honestly I wasn't very impressed. Nothing out of this world or breakfast I can't cook at home. To begin we started with the Million dollar bacon and it's basically 4 strips of bacon on a plate- nothing creative but was quite yummy. The skillet was like any other with avocado, breakfast potatoes and eggs. Finally, the French toast was a bit dry for me but tasted like any other French toast topped with strawberries and bananas. I'm not a huge fan of French toast, so maybe I shouldn't be the best judge for it. I didn't really see much creativity on their menu, therefore this wouldn't be a place I'd be back. Came here on their opening weekend and used the app for the wait-list, it was 55 minutes to get a table when we left the house--this place was super busy! The gentleman that greeted us when we checked-in was super friendly. We sat down at the lobby chairs and waited a bit more. They have water and complimentary coffee while you wait--a nice touch. After about 15 minutes they gave us a booth in their main dining room, which is split into two. I've been to many First Watch locations and this is the first one I noticed that has an outdoor patio to eat at--very cool. Inside, I really like the freshness of all the artwork and wood floors. Our server was very friendly, and he mentioned how busy they were. We quickly ordered, the chicken salad sandwich with tomato basil soup, as well as the BLTE sandwich with vegetable soup. The wait was about 30 minutes for the entrees, but well worth it. The sandwiches were true 5-Star. The chicken salad tasted very fresh and sweet with the included raisins--I like how they have celery within it too. The BLTE contained thick crispy and a nice solid fried egg. The soups weren't the hottest, but still good, with the tomato basil being my favorite (and always a main item on their menu). Our server, though super busy, did his best at taking care of us and getting to-go containers for our leftovers. Everyone that knows the area knows that First Watch took over a location that had the infamous Denny's before. I like that the franchise is bringing over a trendy spot in a not so trendy area. I have heard of First Watch before and always wanted to go but haven't until today! My expectations were already quite high. Walking in, the ambiance was very nice, though I expected the place to be a little bigger. The outside seating is on the smaller side as well. Looking through the menu, they had plenty of great choices! We ordered the morning meditation and the kale tonic juices that were absolutely delicious! I also had some coffee which was quite basic, so if you're looking for speciality coffee drinks, this isn't the place. Just black coffee with cream and sugar. I ordered the hash skillet Parma. The seasoning on the potatoes was scrumptious and just the right amount of cheesy goodness. We also ordered the veggie and goat cheese omelette (to die for!!!). When it came to paying, we waited quite a while for the waiter to pick up my card until we noticed you had to pay upfront. It would've been nice to have been told that when given the receipt. I am so sorry to do this however seeing from the past reviews this is an ongoing issue and needs to be addressed. I have lived in this area for many years and previous to this location there are used to be a Denny's here. I decided to give first watch a try seeing that I've ordered from their other locations and I made a reservation online and I was put on a waitlist And would be notified when my table was ready. However I noticed is that it had been 45 minutes past the time and I still hadn't gotten notification. When I showed up the hostess blankly looked at me and said "oh it's OK I'll just sit you here" instead of apologizing for never contacting me. They were 30 minutes away from closing the kitchen so I wouldn't have gotten notified and showed up to a closed restaurant. My server was from I don't remember his name but he was I'm very busy in about 20 minutes to take our order. We ordered a Belgian waffle and a kids pancakes and a coffee. When I receive my coffee 20 minutes after ordering I asked another server passing by to bring me a spoon so I can add my creamer it took him 10 minutes and he never brought it to me so I asked someone else who also didn't bring it to me until I saw my server and he finally did. When my food came to no surprise I had no silverware and had to ask twice to get it. The food was OK it was a little cold and I had to wait another 20 minutes to receive it.
