I went online and did the "get in line" option. The hosts were friendly and were able to seat us a few minutes after arriving. It was loud in there and was perfect because my kids were loud as well. Food was good but took longer than expected, which was understandable considering they were busy. Overall, the server did an okay job. I have a couple of constructive criticisms: 1) don't put hot food/coffee in front of a toddler, 2) don't give the check to the costumers unless asked or finished eating. read more

I live in carol stream and I'm so glad this spot opened up near me. The food is fantastic!! Very fresh ingredients, great menu with healthy options! The fruit is is like tasting florida on a plate lol. Prices are reasonable a lil bit on the higher side but it's so worth it because the quality of the food is definitely 5 stars! GRAND DISAPPOINTMENT I had planned on visiting First Watch in Bloomingdale when it was under construction by visiting the website and salivating over their Fall Specials.  On Mon. 10/24, I visited for their Grand Opening and they did NOT have any of their websites featured specials available that headline their website.  Also, took 15+ minutes for anyone to appear at table.  No Water or Coffee brought while waiting.  Not worth the wait. I firmly believe that a server can make a good experience an outstanding one. So was the case when I recently visited First Watch in Bloomingdale. We arrived promptly at 7 AM - right when the doors opened and were warmly greeted by hostess/server/cashier - Marisa, who not only did it all... But did so in a polite, timely, and informationally helpful manner. She offered us to our choice of tables and provided us with both the seasonal and regular menu, and promptly offered us coffee and water. I really appreciated that when she poured the coffee she poured it from her coffee and left us a full one to refill our coffee cups. She offered to help us and recommend breakfast specials and answer any questions that we might have and allowed us plenty of time to look through the extensive menu of choices - checking back with us occasionally. After she took her order, she read it back to make sure that she had everything correct... I was very grateful she did that because I had mis-ordered and she quickly corrected it before it was made. The breakfast was prepared very well and arrived hot. We enjoyed breakfast very much and appreciated her, offering the second pot of coffee as we sat lingering and talking. On this particular visit, I really noticed the decor much more than I had at the one in Des Plaines. I thought it was very lovely how it was farmhouse, organic, and had a very natural feel and flow to it. Edison lights, old tractor seats, steel walls, and a very nicely written blackboard with the specials for the fall were just some of the small things I noticed. We will definitely be going back... Hopefully will get Marisa again but if not, I'm sure the management team in Bloomingdale has trained all of its staff to be as incredible as she was. Thank you for a wonderful time and a great meal! I have loved this place the other day was my third visit. I don't normally review but I had to. I just want to be clear that this is not traditional breakfast place with piled high pancakes and eggs. My daughter wanted the typical eggs hash brown bacon and a side pancake. The best they had was egg, waffle, bacon. She ordered scrambled and it was horrible. First it was literally 1 egg I can't even call it scrambled, it was dry but wet in the middle and barely scrambled. 2 small pieces of bacon. The waffle was good. I had the avocado toast and crab special it was delicious, but this is where they shine on the non traditional. My daughters meal was around $15 totally not worth that. I did let the server know and she responded apologetically and with a discount. I really like this place but not if you are looking for a traditional hearty breakfast. read more

Online wait system was pointless. Said it would be 10-15 mins. We arrive and check in. The hostess says..Ok it will be 15-20mins. We asked about the online system and she said "ya that doesn't mean much until you arrive on location.???? Service is not on par with Oak Brook location. I enjoyed the food at First Watch. I feel like it's for people who eat more on the healthier side which is great! And I say that because I was wanting chicken and waffles and they don't offer chicken but that's probably because the chicken is usually fried. We ordered a variety of items and they all were tasty! If I could give this NO Stars I would. My family And I came here when it first opened and it was horrible between the service to the food to waiting for the food 45 mins and they had maybe 6 tables it's a little ridiculous. I understand if they were busy but they weren't. Let's fast forward I felt bad and wanted to give them another chance. Went a couple of days ago and again waited for the food 35 mins which ok they were slightly busy this time. But the service was not that great either. The waitress we had which we didn't get her was very rude she thought she was funny with her comments when asking questions. So needless to say we will not be back again. read more

Went there for the first time this Sunday with the Family. Extremely disappointed. The waiter came and asked, coffee for everyone? We thought he was a busboy, no hi, no hello, no greetings...ordered food for everyone, we had two children with us, told him to bring the food for the children first, it took one hour (not kidding) for the food to come, and the children good wasn't there yet. It came last. Actually we had to go and ask when our food will ve ready. I ordered French Toasts, if you want real Maple Syrup, $1.59 extra, pulled the bottle of syrup out of his ocket (see the picture) and handed it to me. No butter with the Toasts. Waiters dressed like they were working in the yard, repulsive, had lost the appetite already. Went there because it has just opened up where TGIF was on Army Trail Road by Walmart. Not going there again. So far Mapleberry tops the list for Ambience, Service and food. read more

I got the salmon frittata with egg whites. Very good. It came with a side salad and chiabata toast. Loved the toast! Crispy outside and soft inside. The menu posts the calories which I appreciated. Portions were good. I went for a late lunch and held me through dinner. The restaurant is clean and bright and the wait staff professional. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Honestly something has to be done to improve the waiters/waitresses and management at the bloomingdale First watch restaurant....first of all kudos to the chefs amazing delicious food which is why i keep going there...from the donuts to anything on the menu. The waitresses are god awful from taking your order to serving you to following up on anything you may need to eat your meal. I have been there now 3 times and all 3 times service sucks .,,sorry but it truly truly does...so disappointing because your chefs are amazing...fantastic food... tell your waitresses never to refer to adults as mom and pops we are not your mom or pop...you want to know our name ask us. ...can't say enough about how horrible your service is. I am worried about the hiring criteria your manager uses...maybe more education in proper waitressing...greeting...speechless. read more

Had been to the location in or near Oak Brook and really enjoyed it so we're looking forward to our Bloomingdale location. I kind of found it nothing special. Omelettes were nothing special. Just flat Eggs folded it over with Whatever you wanted filled inside. There's something more special about an omelette that's light and fluffy. Your hashbrowns were found to be very spicy. It might be something you might want to alert people to, For some people can't handle spicy food. Service was very pleasant but when it came to get the check we had to hunt the guy down. It was close to closing time and employees were already washing windows. I don't find that too appealing while I'm dining. I have walking disabilities And found it very difficult to maneuver the handicap accessible spots off the sidewalk. They are too steep for people that are sensitive to that. I can't imagine somebody going down one in a wheelchair. I know The entrance area from the former restaurant has been redone because I did have no problems getting into the former restaurant but this one was quite difficult. Pretty sure I wouldn't rush back. We have a number of other area brunch spots that are more appealing....sorry...I was initially excited to dine there but was disappointed. read more

This is a very hard review. Best breakfast in the area food wise. We had the bacado and Chile chorizo omelette. Both absolutely delicious! The best coffee and toast I've had at any breakfast joint. Biscuit and gravy is wonderful! The salad instead of your normal potatoes or hash browns was very original and refreshing. The kale tonic was outstanding and remnant of our trip to the Dominican. So if it's so delicious, why 3 stars? We were seated in the side area behind the bar. Which would normally be fine. We had the worst service I've ever had in any restaurant! We asked for water, 20 minutes later we went to the bar and asked to get it ourselves. We also asked the bartender to make our kale tonic which we ordered. The bartender could tell we were annoyed and sent the manager to our table. We received a gift card , which was definitely warranted. Even after we pointed out that the service was bad, it got worse. We were still completely ignored. We had to ask the bartender for boxes and our check. I want to point out this wasn't bad because of a lack of staff. There were so many workers who walked by and ignored us. However, 50 minutes into our seating we finally received our food. And thank goodness it was delicious because it is the only reason we will give first watch a second chance. Pro tip, do not sit in the tables by the back bar area. Service was NOT good. Took 15 minutes for our waitress to even come up and ask us about drinks (which we didnt even have a menu for). Then after an hour wait for food it finally came, and was wrong. Had high hopes for this place and was sorely disappointed. We counted and only saw our waitress 2 times the entire meal (to take our order and to bring us water), we literally had another waitress take care of us and get us our bill and boxes. The only good thing here is their drinks. However, to be fair, they did give us $20 off our bill. Wouldve been super expensive if not, for mediocre food and bad service. This is probably an issue that only I have but still very disappointing. I've come for the 3rd time and requested a crispy or browned waffle, each time they have brought out a waffle that has been surprisingly undercooked or regular. I was told today that this was the best that they can do. I patronize the FW in Orlando area and have never had a problem with this as well as at any other breakfast/brunch establishment. Stopped here on Sunday about 12:30p and there was zero wait, which should have been my first clue. The menu is unique for a breakfast place, sort of upscale farm to table feel. To say the service was subpar would be kind. Our server brought my husband the wrong drink twice and got my entree wrong. We graciously let them know and he apologized for the drink. A different server, who delivered our food, gave me the wrong entree - a pick two versus the full sized sandwich and soup I ordered. Rather than offering to correct it, he simply said the server should have clarified and I was left with half portions. The taste and quality of the food we actually received was very good with the exception of the soup, which was under seasoned. The lunch menu is very limited; our teen kid could not find anything plain enough for their liking, so I ended up eating her food, while she ate a protein bar. Other issues - we never received the million dollar potatoes we ordered, and the floor in the washroom was sticky and gross. There are a ton of amazing breakfast/lunch places nearby. Came in on a rainy Monday for brunch looking for some good breakfast food. I've been to the First Watch in Oakbrook and remembered that there was this newer location closer to me. The interior decor was very nice. I would describe it as a contemporary industrial farm house. It was well lit with lots of yellow lighting, making it feel very cozy. I had looked online at the menu prior to coming, but I was looking at a different locations menu that coincidentally had the same name. They didn't have the dish I was looking for, but our server Olivia was very accommodating. I was looking to get a "Harissa Chicken Hash" but this location did not serve it. Olivia was able to have a dish made similar to it, minus the harissa. It was great! Definitely, will be back. read more
