    I came to First Tech Federal Credit Union to make a somewhat complex and time sensitive transaction that involved transferring funds to and from a few financial institutions. To add to the complexity, First Tech was experiencing some temporary systems issues. Teller Bradley worked with his manager Lola to come up with a suitable workaround and sent me on my way. Two days later an unanticipated timing issue resulted in a fee being assessed by First Tech. I called Bradley and explained the situation. Bradley immediately remembered me and said he would reverse the fee but could only do it after the fee posted at the end of the day, so he made himself a note to reverse the fee first thing in the morning and follow up with a phone call to me conforming it had been done. I hung up the phone fully expecting to have to call FTCU back the next day to remind them to reverse the fee. Much to my surprise and delight, I got a voicemail from Bradley first thing the next morning confirming the fee had been reversed, and a phone call at the end of the business day from him asking if I had received his voicemail and had been able to confirm the fee reversal online. In the age of big banking and impersonal call centers, this is the kind of service that will keep me coming back to FTCU and recommending them to my friends. Thank you Bradley!

    After being with another credit union for over 20 years we regret making the switch to ICCU…read more We were "sold" on the benefit of their Central Plus Checking which has a monthly fee but includes benefits. One of the benefits are Monthly Bill Pay. You can schedule a payment date on your bills. On May 2nd I put in a request for our credit card payment that was due May 16th. It was to be paid May 12th. It was paid late on May 19th. After a few hours spent trying to rectify I was told a third party handles that - no one at the branch cares or would help. No one told us when we signed up a 3rd party handles this. On March 17th I paid another credit card bill. The money was taken out of my account but the company I paid through bill pay said they couldn't deposit as the check from the 3rd party wasn't readable yet it was taken from my account. On both of these I have to dispute , show proof by getting copies of the ACH, in order to reverse the $81 late charges,. Even worse is the time it is taking to gather information after being put on hold so many times as no one seems to really care at the branch. I asked to speak to a manager and was told it would take up to 72 hours to get a return call. I can only imagine they are so busy if they are operating through 3rd parties and have no control of their business.

    Customer service at my Wells Fargo Bank in Eagle has been a great disappointment…read more Our checking account was compromised and I went to the bank to get a new checking account. After visits last Thursday and Friday their bankers were unable to accommodate our request. The bankers at that location seemed totally untrained in the knowledge of how to open us a new account number. We spent almost two hours during each visit and most of it was sit around while the bankers had to stop to seek knowledge of others at the bank or the necessity for us to wait while our bankers were waiting for answers on phone calls. The Friday visit was late in the day, and although we were only minutes away to getting our new account number, a bank manager interrupted our session and asked us to leave because my banker had to pickup her daughter and by staying after 5:00 pm "four people would have to stay at the bank." I asked for a quick return visit and I was given 9:00 and 9:30 am on Tuesday (Monday was a Martin Luther King holiday). I explained I was unable to make those visits because I had a medical procedure scheduled that morning that had been scheduled a month earlier. An afternoon visit was provided to me. Painfully, we had to accept a Wednesday morning appointment. That left us with 6 days without a bank checking account. Additionally, since it is a Trust bank account, we would not be provided the usual Wells Fargo courtesy of helping coordinate new account information to third party lenders on our monthly payments, so we do not miss a payment or an incoming rent payment to us. In retrospect, it will take us a minimum of 6 days to change to a new checking account number, and even now we can't be certain in can be done on that day. Totally frustrating because we will be having direct withdrawals from mortgage companies for some of our 15 owned homes, various mostly loan payments and incoming electronic rent payments monthly. Also I am unable to pay my Visa amount which will become past due with a valid Checking account. I have been a Wells Fargo customer for over two decades and generally have a $25,000 to $50,000 balance in my account for Wells Fargo use. It seems there should have been a bit more urgency from Wells Fargo at the branch office in Eagle. We are in the process on seeking a new bank for a checking account.
