My Holiday Cocktail Party was a complete success due to the AMAZING and PROFESSIONAL Bartending services of First String! Terry was perfect tending the bar and the guests loved his wonderful drinks and fun spirit. Eli also went above and beyond working behind the bar making things run so smoothly. Oscar was the DJ and he was AWESOME with such a great set up with light effects and great sound. I would highly recommend the ICE DRINK LUGE! I can't wait until my next party and the first call I will make is to Richard at First String to have them all back again to ensure that it will be a COMPLETE SUCCESS! Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

First String bartended my wedding reception at Marina Village in March. They were professional, courteous and overall did a great job serving a large number of people! Richard was communicative beforehand, and was very helpful in giving suggested drinks when I asked for ideas, as well as helping me develop a grocery list with estimated amounts to purchase. The estimates turned out to be too much, but better to have too much than not enough! We had also asked that the non-alcoholic beverages would be self-serve to avoid a line for the water, etc., but somehow that didn't get communicated to the bartender (or for whatever reason, didn't end up happening)... so there was a long line for the drinks-- even just for guests to get water, which was unfortunate! Otherwise, guests were very happy and it went well. Good service, reasonable prices. read more

Thanks to Richard my summer party was AMAZING! All my guest were pleased by his exceptional Bartending Services.

We hired FSB based off of a friends reference for our wedding on Friday at Luce Loft. Richard was AWESOME! Ever since our initial emails about the service he has been nothing short of amazing. He is prompt and happy to answer any questions you have. He even creates a list of what you need to purchase and how much- which was extremely helpful. Richard and his staff were a hit at the wedding- all of our guests raved about how friendly they were and the delish drinks- and tricks he provided. I would recommend them again and again- it was such an excellent experience and I cannot wait to see what other events we can use them for! Two thumbs up and 5 stars across the board! read more

If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would! Our 4th of July Vegas-style pool party was a huge success thanks to First String. I'll start by saying this is not the first time I've hired bartender and server help for a party so I've worked with a number of vendors in the past. The difference with Richard and his First String staff is the PROFESSIONALISM, attention to DETAIL, and LOVE they have for what they do. We hired Richard (bartender), Vasthi (server), and Alex (buser +) for our event. Prior to my event, Richard kept good communication. He took the time to create a drink shopping list for my headcount and drink selection making it extremely easy to buy exactly what we needed, down the to stir straws. On the day of the event, he and his team arrived right on time in uniform and began setting up immediately. We made sure they had everything they needed and from that point forward, I was able to sit back and enjoy. Alex bused but also manned my front door to show guests in as they arrived. He also helped with some setup and made sure my guests took their gift bags. When the caterer arrived, he showed them to their designated spot so they could set up, I didn't have to lift a finger. :) Vasthi was an outstandingly attentive server. She was very friendly and our guests all commented (even the following day) on how good she was. It's great to have a server that smiles all the time! She walked around frequently, checking on guests and making sure they were well treated. Richard, aside from being an awesome bartender, is a real people person. He made conversation with guest and everyone LOVED him. He was also extremely attentive and knowledgeable. His branded light up bar is the way to go. It's a full pro setup in excellent condition and really gives a professional feel. Overall, I cannot stress enough how excellent First String was and how thankful I am for their service. My advice to other Yelpers is take a few moments to put together a list of instructions/directions and give it to them like I did. They are so good at what they do, they'll make sure everything goes off without a hitch. read more

Richard is very friendly and my guests had tons of positives to say about he service provided and quality of drinks they made.

Richard and his staff did a wonderful job at my Mad Men themed 40th birthday party. The girls happily dressed the part. The bartenders looked great. They were incredibly flexible and easy to work with. Everyone had a good attitude which made them part of the party. I received several compliments on the drinks we served. They left the glassware rinsed and the bar counters clean. That made overall cleanup in the morning so much easier. I thought their pricing was reasonable. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for bartenders and wait staff. read more

Awesome wedding with the help of an awesome bartending vendor. First String Bartending was great and went above and beyond in all aspects of pre-wedding planning, set up and the services during the wedding. Great competitive prices, shopping list was on point (not much alcohol left over but did not run out either), arrived ahead of schedule for setup, everyone loved the drinks, they kept the bar area clean and ensured everyone was satisfied by the nights end. Could keep it going with how pleased we were with them and recommend them for any event you might be planning. Much love and blessings to Jacob, Richard and the First String Bartending group! read more

I contacted with First String at the last minute really -- just ahead of our neighborhood party (where we entertained about 45 people). Richard was amazingly helpful and the price quote was extremely reasonable. Our bartender showed up right on time -- and he was indeed a true professional. Thanks to his help, my husband and I were able to focus on food prep and serving -- no small task since guests were scattered around on two different levels of our yard. I highly recommend First String Bartending ... and definitely plan on contracting with them again! read more

Richard and Banessa helped us out big time at our wedding in September. After our last rental service/bartender ran off with our money just a few days before our wedding, we weren't sure what we were going to do! I'm so glad that we found First String Bartending Services! From the first phone call to Richard, while still being professional, it was like talking to an old friend. Even with just a few days before our wedding, he was willing to help us out with very reasonable rates for services! He even printed out a personalized menu with our invitation image and drinks on it. Richard was a class-act from start to finish of our special day. Our friends and family told us only good things about his services. We were very impressed and look forward to working with them again. Thanks so much you guys! read more

My church required a Bartending service for our wedding reception so I took a look online to see what was out there. First String was the first company that came up so I gave them a call, spoke with Richard who said he would send a quote soon. I hung up feeling really good about using them. Then I called a few other places; I wasn't as impressed. The pricing from First String seemed on par with what everyone else was quoting but Richard seemed much more dedicated. I went with them and am glad I did. I was so impressed with their service and attentiveness. Richard returned my emails and phone calls promptly for liability waivers and general questions. The day before the wedding, we stored kegs onsite and I basically left it up to them to get them ready and they really came through. I stopped by the bar during our reception and saw how professional and effective they were at handling all the guests. They even had specialty drinks to really spice up our event. I'm very pleased with Richard and his team and couldn't recommend them highly enough. Thanks guys! read more

Richard and Christopher were fabulous! I celebrated a big milestone birthday and they came through with short notice. Richard helped me customize a drink menu and get everything prepared. I asked tons of questions and he was so prompt in handling everything. My guest loved the drinks and chatting up with Richard. I highly recommend them to everyone. read more

First String bartended my wedding at Marina Village last weekend (5/8/2016). Not only were they budget-friendly, they were just amazing in general! Richard was so easy to work with and incredibly responsive to my emails. When Marina Village asked me to collect insurance liability forms from all of my vendors, Richard got that to me ASAP. During cocktail hour and our wedding reception, our guests enjoyed the open bar, and Richard and Banessa kept the drinks (which were delicious, by the way) flowing all night. They had given us a customized shopping list so we knew exactly what to provide, and we had plenty to serve our ~150 guests. Richard also took a few photos and videos throughout the night, which he graciously shared with me after the event was all over. Both Richard and Banessa were professional, efficient, and personable. They even helped with clean-up after our caterer had left for the night when they saw that my dad was bussing the tables, and they stayed late to give my husband and me congratulatory hugs. My dad, who is all about quality of service, was so impressed with First String, he told me he plans to hire them if we have another event in need of bartenders. 5 stars for affordability, professionalism, friendliness, responsiveness, and quality of service! read more

awesome experience! professional and accomodating! cant wait til my next party. Luge was great!!!

I hired First String Bartending Services for my fine art show. They immediately returned my inquiry and were prompt with all my communications, which gave me assurance that they were focused on their clients. They provided tips, a shopping list, and much more than I expected, which really helped me plan a successful event. When it came to the actual week of the event, they followed up many times, inquired about my beverage choices to prepare for what they were serving and to even learn about the wineries for the wines we had chosen in case guests inquired. I communicated with Richard for much of the planning and Terry was the bartender at the event. The day of the event FSBS arrived on time and they were all business when setting up and preparing the bar. The bar set up was beautiful and professional. Terry was all smiles, so pleasant and the guests definitely enjoyed the vibe at the bar. I had 2 signature drinks that Terry made spot on and everyone loved. And lastly, their rates compared to the service they deliver, it's high-end classy delivery at an affordable price, I feel so lucky to have found them for my event and will be only hiring and recommending FSBS in the future! read more

First string bartending is a great choice for your Bartending needs! We had Oscar at our event last weekend for our wedding shower and everything went great off the bat. Oscar was on time and very courteous and respectful. We were provided a shopping list of things to buy for the event and it helped us out a lot to figure out how much to buy. The drinks tasted amazing and were out in a very timely manner. Oscar also helped us clean up and was always willing to attend to our needs even though we were all eating. We even asked him to take a break and join us and he was still willing to stand behind his bar and get drinks to whoever wanted one. I recommend this company and this bartender for anyone of your events because they are budget friendly and also very skilled at what they do. This company took one less worry away from me and my fiancé as we had a shower to throw. Nothing but kind words to say about Oscar and first string Bartending! read more

We hired Richard for our wedding this past Saturday and he was great! From the beginning he was so helpful and excellent with communicated which a lot of other bartending companies are not. Richard was excellent in bartending our private cocktail party and all the guests thought he was great. This is the first time we've used a bartender vs. 'make your own' open bar and it was a success. We had a 'signature cocktail' that was also a hit. I also truly appreciated the quick and complete communication in response to all my questions, and Richard also took the initiative to confirm all our agreements in an email just prior to the day of the party so I would be certain to know he had it all down and we were covered.....truly appreciated that! Yes, I definitely recommend First String Bartending! read more

I've never heard so many people compliment the bartending service at a wedding before!!! All of our guests were talking about how polite he was. He also provided a shopping list for us that ended up being perfect. Would definitely recommend Richard to anyone. read more

We were in need of Bartending services for a party that was 2 days away. I spoke to Richard and he was super professional, friendly and very well organized. We were able to get everything squared away very quickly and secured a bartender. Jake was our bartender for the night and he was very friendly and helpful. He arrived on-time and was very well prepared and efficient Having these services took such a load off those of us planning the party and it was such a good decision. If I ever need these type of services again, I will definitely be calling First String Bartending Services. Thank you so much for being part of our event! read more

I was scrambling to find a bartending service for an employee event at our downtown office building; the bartending service needed to insured and would need to meet the high insurance standards required by our building management. I reached out to Richard a day before the event (having vetted several agencies prior) and within an hour he had a contract and certificate of insurance to me. I got a stamp of approval from the building management and we were set. Richard showed up the next day at 3:30 PM and within half a hour was ready to serve. I received so many compliments about Richards customer service and pleasant nature - I also noted several attendees took his business card. When the evening concluded Richard packed up, left the area clean and a major catastrophe was averted. Great job! Great Customer Service! Efficient and within budget!!! Definitely will use First String Bartending Services again!!! read more
