He then claimed the damage could not have been caused by tape because they "don't use tape," which is completely untrue. The evidence is obvious: they did use tape, and when it was removed, it peeled the paint off my furniture and left sticky residue all over the metal parts of my bed and my modern furniture. I hired this company based on their positive reviews, but it turned out to be one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Poor handling of furniture and even worse customer service.

My neighbor is also very picky and has used them for several moves so I knew anyone she referred me to would be good. I wasn't disappointed. Diego--who quoted my move--was excellent, very friendly and followed up all along the way. He was also flexible on the day of my move (I wasn't sure when I would be ready and had plenty of time to move). The price was comparable to other movers who had been referred to me but Goldengate guaranteed their quote to be the price I would pay. On the day of my move, the movers arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently to get everything out of my old apt and in to my new place. Once there they worked hard to ensure they put all the boxes and furniture where it belonged, even asking me where I wanted things if they weren't sure. After the move, Diego called to be sure everything had gone well. I have NEVER had a mover do that before and it was very much appreciated. All in all, they really made this my easiest move yet. And that's saying something because I've moved so many times I can barely count them--at least 30 times as an adult. Though I hope not to never need another mover, I will definitely use them again should I ever need to move. Very bad experience…read more Movers were 20 minutes late. Then they had no mattress/box spring covers as promised when i got the quote. I had bought some originally when going to move by myself without movers but then wanted to return them since i had to book movers and they were to provide but they didn't have any so had to use my own (extra $20 out or my pocket). I was literally moving just across the street and had only a few things to move --- a bed, 2 bedside tables, dresser, standing desk, 0 boxes bc had moved everything else myself already. Out of those few things they moved- they damaged my wood bedside table (part of a matching set so now can't use both of them) and damaged my bed frame. I have pictures of both the day before with no damage which proves they did the damage to both. Also keep in mind i only used 2 hr of the 4 minimum i had to book with them. So they only had to work half the time and move a few items and still those few items got damaged just from moving them to an apartment building next door. They offered me $60 for the damage, i felt i was owed at least $200 discount but all they would come up to was $100 off. Do NOT recommend. Wish i had just finished my move myself without hiring the movers at all

Origin crew was great-managed well but a lot of guys and not so intuitive - Sales agent was correct on his communications up front and quote was accurate and moderate. Only issue was customer service didn't do a great job communicating with us or driver. Sales knew we would need a shuttle but no one told the driver until I talked to him on Friday before the Sunday move. We kept looking for updates prior and got... crickets. We had to chase communications last 2-3 weeks. But destination crew made up for entire process. Willy, Adrian and JJ - a small crew for our 3400 sq ft home plus garage, were so professional and calming. Our new house at 4,000' altitude with a difficult driveway- one single door for 3 stories and no garage- so our tools and garage cabinets had to go to the bottom floor- these 3 handled every step with poise like I've never seen. And they weigh probably 380lb between all 3 of them- amazing ballet of moving we witnessed, with smiles and light hearted humor- these 3 took a normally crazy stressful process and made it painless and a pleasure. My wife and I were so happy during and at the end of the move- can't this team enough!

My experience with Bekins of South Florida and the Bekins/Wheaton corporate office was extremely…read moredisappointing, marked by surprise costs, serious planning and handling failures, late delivery, damage to prized possessions, and considerable unnecessary stress. I obtained quotes from several national movers for my Florida-to-Texas move. I chose Bekins largely because its salesperson conducted an in-home survey and conveyed confidence and expertise regarding the planning of my move, professional handling of my valuable grand piano, the accuracy of the estimate, and the lack of need for storage. The reality was very different. * When I finalized my moving date, Bekins increased the original estimate by more than $600--even though I had expressly disclosed during the survey that my date could fall anywhere between mid-May and the end of June. * Less than 24 hours before pickup, the salesperson sought another $300 because the condominium's long-haul/crew requirements had not been adequately assessed during the in-home survey. I objected, and the charge was not imposed. * Only days before delivery, I learned that Bekins could not complete the placement of my grand piano in my new home. I was left to arrange specialized handling myself on extremely short notice and at high cost. Bekins removed its charge for the service it could not perform, but months of advance planning time had been lost. * My belongings were stored at the Fort Lauderdale facility despite the representation that storage would not be needed. Bekins also picked up my shipment without an assigned line-haul driver despite weeks of notice and ultimately delivered three days beyond its guaranteed delivery window. Bekins did provide the contractual delay credit. The handling of my possessions also was very troubling. Among other damage, my grand piano arrived with a chipped lid, while a family heirloom piece suffered a severe crack running the 8-foot length of its lid and chipped veneer. The piano was also found to have been positioned backwards on its skid board and insufficiently strapped. Bekins ultimately paid my damage claim, but that does not undo the underlying handling failures. Photos show some of the damage. Taken as a whole, this experience felt like a bait-and-switch. The expertise and reliability conveyed during the sales process bore little resemblance to the service ultimately delivered. Planning failures rendered the original quote a poor indication of what the move would actually entail and left me dealing with unforeseen substantial expense, delays, and damage. This was easily the worst interstate move I have experienced. I twice asked Bekins/Wheaton corporate Customer Service to consider the experience as a whole and provide a reasonable goodwill adjustment. Its Director of Customer Service instead focused on the fact that Bekins had provided its contractual delay compensation, charged only for services ultimately performed, and was handling the property damage through its claims process. He ultimately stated that Customer Service would offer nothing further. There were a few bright spots. The Fort Lauderdale operations manager and warehouse personnel treated me decently, as did the pickup/delivery crews and eventual line-haul driver. Unfortunately, their efforts were substantially overshadowed by Bekins' failures in sales, planning, specialty item handling, and overall execution, and its unwillingness to take meaningful responsibility. Based on my experience, I would not use Bekins again.
