The worst bank ever. Deposited cash and checks on the Thursday morning before easter. They Did not actually process the deposits until Tuesday for some reason and I had automatic payments that processed on easter Sunday and caused my account to be overdrawn. When i called and asked what happened she told me that of course my deposits would not be processed because it was Easter weekend and they were closed. So i asked why my autopayments were processed then and checks cleared at 3:30 AM on a Sunday and she literally said BECAUSE. I called her a liar and she hung up on me. Run away! I only have an account with them because my parents opened one for me with the old Parkvale Bank when I was born. When FNB bought them it became terrible. Haven't gotten a penny of interest on the savings account in years (despite what interest rates are now) and then they started charging me a monthly $10 "maintenance fee." I have been trying to close the account but they say I have to come in person (I live out of state). I called saying I wanted to close the account and please send me a check for the balance. They told me they don't do that and I need to go to another online account and transfer the money out and then call a branch and close it. So I did this and low and behold I get an email from my other bank saying that the transfer was returned at FNB's request (and slapped me with yet another fee for the return). I call FNB and they say I must come in person now. Let's talk when I had a checking account with them... they just one day up and closed it because....? I had a credit card and when it expired they told me they could not mail me a replacement because I live out of state. So that was gone. Like...why are they in business???? So, you guessed it! The same bad service! I Did EVERYTHING they said to do to get my principal payments processed properly and have included the "attention loan department" on front of envelope. I keep doing EVERYTHING they tell me to do and nothing is helping!!! Noticed that on December 15th they applied principal payment to my mortgage payment again. Called and they fixed their mistake but are trying to charge me $16.72 for it! Wtf!?! I'll be calling tomorrow again! I have read their payment policy and it clearly states that I can make payment by phone even though they've told me I cannot. I'm looking for a lawyer that can take this on bec I'm sure I'm not the only one. And it's stealing our money bec we aren't getting all of the benefits of a principal payment. Stay away from first national bank! Thieves! Called and spoke to same young lady I called on the 4th re their mix up again. She did everything right. It's the processors messing up my acct!!! So illegal too....the $16.72 she said is a late fee. How is there a late fee when you took my principal payment on Dec 15 and applied it to my mortgage that you pull every 1st of the month. You get caught on the 4th and have to fix your mistake and on the 8th you want to charge me a late fee!?! Horrible manager at Mt Pleasant. Very immature. She's an adult who has the mind of a teenager. She imagines things and accuses you of being mean and picking on her. My hairdresser heard a conversation with her when my phone was on speaker. Those whinings plus you're yelling at me were her words when I was trying to get unwarranted NSFs removed. She actually lied and said that she had already removed over $600 of NSFs the first months of that year. I told her there was no way. She made up a name of a teller who she then changed the story to that person had done the NSF reversals. I moved to Mt Pleasant from PA in 2018. I had been banking at branches of FNB in PA for over 40 years with no problems. In fact my husband and I became friends with the tellers and the manager at one branch became a very good friend of mine. I called the PA branches and there was no one by that name at any branch. I then went through the last 3 years of my checking accounts, 2 in PA. I had one NSF charge removed in those 3 years due to a scam charge on my account which caused my account to be short. This caused the next transaction to be denied. This was the 3rd and last conversation with her. I opened accounts at South State Bank over a year ago with pleasant and very helpful tellers and managers. They seem to change tellers and assistant managers at Mt Pleasant FNB more frequently there than at the other branches. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BANK! I am ashamed to rate them a 1 out of 5 because they deserve a 0. One of my biggest regrets is taking out a loan with this bank. It has been issue after issue with them and no one there is able to or willing to help you. It has been over 3 months and my accounts are still not setup correctly. It took them over 3 weeks to cash a check I sent them in the mail. I had to drive hours to drop off physical check just to avoid late fees. They do not answer their phones or return your calls. Every employee will tell you something different and the different departments do not communicate with each other or work together. I just moved back to Pennsylvania from Florida and had to change banks because there are no Wells Fargo in PA. I picked First National because of its convenience to my home but I am VERY UNHAPPY with this joke of a bank. First of all they told me it's going to take 15 days to get my debit card in the mail but it was ordered. I went to another branch near a friend's home because I was told I could get a debit card until my actual card comes and the lady said they don't do that for new accounts. Why? In this day and age where people pay online using THEIR DEBIT CARD we kind of need one. I called customer service just now to see if my card was even shipped yet and he told me it WAS NEVER ORDERED! -1 Turned down at the last minute for a small loan they sent me in the mail. They never asked for assets, just tax returns. My credit score is over 800, and I have never missed a payment--not even a late payment. It is unlawful to turn someone down for a loan because of age. As I am a senior, they used a way to deny a loan to me. After the terrible reviews I have read, maybe it's the best thing. The government should get behind their practices as they have already had discrimination lawsuits. Senior discrimination needs to be added to that. read more

This review is JUST of the insurance division of the mortgage department. If you are considering them for your mortgage needs, DO NOT LET THEM ESCROW!!! PAY YOUR OWN TAXES AND INSURANCE. I have had loans with them for many years (more than one). Year after year I have the same problems. Recent example: I got a letter saying they didn't have the bill from the insurance company for the upcoming renewal. I found this hard to be true as I had already received my copy about a month prior. I emailed them my policy invoice to the email address listed on the letter. I also called my agent and she confirmed their copy was sent out the same time as mine. She also faxed and emailed them a copy that same day. Soon after, I received letter that my insurance had expired! OML!! I called my insurance agent again and she said they had finally gotten payment from the bank (escrow account) and that it was SEVERAL DAYS LATE! What?? They were mailed an insurance invoice a month and half before it was due, then we faxed it and emailed it again about 3 weeks before it was due AND THEY STILL DID NOT PAY IT ON TIME. And unfortunately this happens EVERY YEAR! I told my neighbor about all the trouble I have to go through every year and he said their loan is with them, AND the SAME THING happens to him!! What are the chances? Excellent apparently! By the way, the policy has our names on it, the loan number, the address of the property and my phone number so there is NO WAY they couldn't figure out what loan the policy/invoice went with. When your CD renewal come up, they mail to a different address and drop your interest rate below.014% and lock you in for years not paying you a reasonable interest rat, then for you to move it to a bank that will pay you a 5plus interest rate they will penalize you big time. Our mortgage was purchased by FNB after we purchased our home in Indiana. This is typical for a lender to sell your mortgage, so no problem there. We went to sign up to make payments and learned that there are no branches in Indiana and that we could not set up our account because of this! So yes, FNB bought our loan knowing that they could not FULLY service it! Our only option at first was to mail a check. After we complained, they at least gave us the option of auto-withdrawal. But we still have no access to our account online due to not having a branch in Indiana. We also received an alert from our credit monitor stating that our mortgage balance was increasing instead of decreasing. I was told that this is just how they report it to the bureau, which has a negative impact on our credit rather than a positive one. This company is not easy to deal with, and you will spend the first literal 3 minutes going through all their prompts just to be put in line to speak with someone. Even the reps seem disinterested in anything you have to say. Can't wait to refinance next year! read more

I have fair to good credit, took a loan through he dealer to purchase a second car, and FNB was the assigned bank. Absolutely terrible to work with. I took GAP insurance and have a good State-Farm policy both vehicles. This seems like not enough for FNB. FNB requested documentation for my insurance, fine, I sent it, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again, and sent it again. And then FNB added a $3,000 annual insurance policy onto my existing loan for me. Needless to say I now have multiple complaints pending, but I would advise you to avoid FNB at all costs. read more

The branch in Hummelstown is the worst!! I tried to open a checking account with my son and then apply for a car loan. I tried to do online twice. That didn't work so I went in person and was told no one could help me. I explained I tried to do it online, but it didn't work and I have several accounts there and just need to open an account or add my son to mine. The teller says "that's all fine and good, but I told you we have no one to do it and we won't for at least 3 months." I said "Okay I guess I'll find another bank, and then he replies "You go do that!" So, guess who trains their tellers to also open accounts? MEMBERS FIRST, which is a short walk away. I am now changing ALL my accounts to them. How can you walk in a bank for $1,200 cash and they say they have no one to help you open an account or add someone to an existing account?? Don't tell me this bank doesn't have management that could come in a couple hours on a Sat and take care of their customer's needs. They clearly don't care. I recently was the victim of fraud on my account that caused my account to be overdrawn. FNB charged me over $700+ in fees for charges I didn't even incur. I disputed the charges to the companies and they promptly refunded the money, however I am still waiting on this bank to refund the 700+ in charges that they charged on the fraudulent activity. They dont even deserve one star. Terrible bank to do bussiness with. Sent photos of home before beginning the process. Had unfinished ceilings. Asked up front if it would be an issue was told that as long as the home appraised for higher than the amount I was borrowing it would be a non issue. House appraised higher than amount borrowed. Move all the way to the end of the process, waiting for confirmation everything is good to set closing date. A week goes by no word and no response from the underwritter or loan officer I had spoken with prior. Finally get a call back and I'm told that they won't fund the loan because of unfinished ceilings. Loan officer gives some excuse about he didn't know they were that bad. I remind him I have an email I sent with pictures of the ceilings and his response that it's not an issue. He basically tells me there isn't anything he can do unless I can get the ceilings finished. Tell him it's not happening that I'm backing out of the deal and I'll be filing suit to recoup costs for lost time, appraisal fees and other coat I incurred. The loan officer then contacts my realtor to attempt to negotiate a deal on behalf. I call back back and inform him I'll be filing a TILA complaint and that as someone who works for a mortgage servicer I know his conduct isn't just unethical its illegal. I get a call back the next day informing me the underwritten has agreed to move forward under the original agreement. Then after closing its been a hassle every month just to pay my mortgage. They have no automated option for making payments and no online option. I can send a check and hope it actually gets there in time despite excessive delays with the postal service or I can call. When you call its at least a 30 min wait to get to a rep every single time because they are "understaffed". And their customer service ends at 6pm so I have to call on my lunch break and hope I get through in time to make my payment. On top of all of that had error processing the payment. I was never contacted and informed of this. I called when the grace period was about to expire (12 days after I made the payment) when I noticed it never came out. Was first told there was an error and when I asked why I wasn't informed I was told it wasn't actually an error the payment department was just behind, still not sure what the real story was. Requested a supervisor was sent to voice mail and never recieved a call back. Everything about my experience with them has been terrible. As soon as I'm eligible to refinance I'll be doing so even if it means a higher interest rate. read more

I was walked through the process with kindness that I didn't expect from a bank. The vice president of the bank treated us like we were family. This bank is making it almost impossible for me to cancel my account. After years of having this as a locla bank, it was nothing but overdraft fees as I tried to get rid of it. No other bank does this. They don't have the option to deny charges for insufficient funds and then the overdraft fees are very high. Your account has to be exactly $0 to close (not one cent higher), however if a charge comes through like a recurring Apple charge they'll overdraft your account by $35. They actually told me I had to write a signed letter to cancel my account. It's 2022! Their excuse we are a small bank with small resources. Exaclty why I dont want this bank! Contacted me about a late payment and overdue fees, even though it said right on the late fee slip that they had gotten a payment three times the amount from me the day before the due date in question. Also added their own car insurance ($2500 for one year!!) even though I provided proof of insurance. The way you pay for your loan is either through check or a connected FNB bank account (which you need a minimum balance of $1000 to avoid service fees. Single Dad with full custody, recently lost his job! My bank account was hacked through an ebay scam. I have never been hacked before, I notified my bank ( FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PA ) at once. Did everything they told me to, filed a police report, had my devices cleaned. Closed all my accounts. Reset all passwords etc. $2500 dollars was pulled from my account funneled through Coinbase app. That was all the money I had and my unemployment has not kicked in yet. Everyone told me not to worry that it had happened to them or someone they knew and their banks all refunded their money. Not one person from the bank reached out to me, I emailed the fraud department asking what else I could do. They never returned my emails. And they denied returning my money. They banks are insured through the government when stuff like this happens. Anyhow their reasoning was, because I had used the Coinbase app in past ( to buy small amounts of cryptocurrency) that they would not help me out. I we ( My daughter and I ) are now being evicted from our home. My car loan is through FNB, they will probably repo my car!! Worst customer service. Our loan took 6 months to close (originally were told 3 months). The bank staff kept asking for the same documents repeatedly because they could retrieve them. The underwriter added more and more requirements along the way. And each time the close date was pushed back, they asked for updated documents like pay stubs, and then it took more time to review the newer documents. It became an endless loop. The online banking system is horrible. We talked to two tech guys who couldn't figure out how to set up auto payment. We will refinance as soon as we can!!! read more

I didn't activate my debit card immediately when I received it (2 weeks before it would have worked) and now they flagged it and want $50 to rush me a new card. Please for the love of all that's holy in this world do not EVER get an auto loan through this company! Unless you have a banking account through them, you cannot pay your bill online. You can not pay them over the phone unless your account is 15 days late. You have to mail in every single payment. They have not in the slightest bit modernized their business. At least six times now they have added insurance to our auto loan stating that we did not have auto insurance when we in fact did. Multiple times!!! My husband works Mon-Fri 6am to 6pm. By the time he gets home he can't talk to anyone. Every department is closed. This is the worst god damn company that exists. When you express your frustrations about not being able to speak with anyone their customer service representatives are immediately irritated. No one can do anything. Why do you have a customer service department when they aren't authorized to do anything?!!! This company is complete garbage. They are one of our hugest regrets. Please when financing your auto loan, even if it shows up that they have the best deal, they don't. They constantly add charges to your account. Insurance dept-closed, loan Representstive-closed. You are consistently met with defeat. I went to a business fair a few months ago and they had a team there trying to recruit new clients. If you've had the misfortune of even hearing about this bank, run. dont look back. i'd have saved you money and time and hassle. dont believe me? read on. this small normally unheard of bank, has some major flaws. in both their site, app, and most importantly customer service, or lack there of. The site, has problems logging into it. You have to take additional steps to reverify yourself every single time manually instead of just logging you straight in. If you are not tech-savvy or know the runaround, you'll sit there wondering why it is telling you your access is denied. The app had problems depositing checks. It will give you an error telling you it didnt go through. You take it to the bank nearby if your unfortunate enough to have one nearby. Manually depositing the check. And then you'll be charged with a fee for depositing the same check twice. LOL? Second problem I ran into with the app was when you have multiple accounts, and you pick one of them to submit payment with, it will default to your checking account to pull money out of (option without an option lol), and if there isn't money in there enough to cover the cost, they will charge you insufficient fund cost for reversing the charge, then if that causes you to go negative, they will charge you negative fee. Then they will go ahead and re-try it like second time's the charm on their own, and repeat the fees yet again a second time. again, if you were in negative from these fees, its another negative fee within minutes of the first one. They say they will go ahead and try to process the payment a third time to see if the third time is the charm. which would have meant instead of the double whammy, it could have potentially been a triple whammy. should i consider myself lucky i was only subject to just two bs? customer service will tell you that they will call you back. they have specialists for each different things and customer service isnt it. customer service i guess is like the receptionist that will let the real people know that you have a problem and need to be contacted. but ultimately they wont really call you. lol i help handle my family's bank, especially if problems occur due to language barrier. (this wasnt my bank, this was my father's). so i would say i have the experience of about 5 banks in my lifetime. absolutely the worst. your better off talking to the wall letting it know that there are problems with your account. if these experiences dont steer you away from this joke of a bank, good luck. and yes, he had to pay the fees still. well, half of it. i guess they decided that the second attempt to charge his account isnt really authorized by him lol read more

Constant screw-ups from loan documents, to re-casting a loan, teller interaction, escrow account screwed up, not paying this or that...The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing and this one can't tie their shoes without asking that one! After my bank merged with first national Bank PA I've had nothing but problems. From having to reset up my direct deposit, unable transfer money between accounts, unable to send money to pay rent or pay credit card bills and it's been two weeks.
