FNB has 3 times frozen our bank card, citing un announced out of state use. They claim to require one to le them know you are going out of state, before using their bank card. This is not only illegal, but false as well. They allowed me to purchase meals, rooms, items, etc., all over the USA. But once, at a coffee shop in NC., they said the purchase looked suspicious and froze the card... While I was on vacation. Again, while traveling around the USA, using the card for purchases, I stopped for fuel along I 40 in OK. and bam! They froze my card citing possible foreign hackers using my card. It was a Love's station. The last time was 2 days ago at my daughter's wedding. We signed up for Uber for the first time and decided to add it to the list of cards that could be used. Uber sent a test charge of $00.00 and FNB froze the card. Customer service is a joke to these people and their IT dept., seems to have free reign. A bank MAY NOT require one to notify them if they travel out of state! Outside of the country is understandable, but not out of state. The smug, condescending attitude of their so called "Customer Service reps" is also sorely lacking, and any attempt at contacting FNB to file a complaint, is impossible. US Consumer affairs and the Bank Commission, however, seem to generate an immediate response. Closed all my accounts with FNB and will not return. read more

Jon P. is a brilliant person. Sir, you know FNB !!! My bank Park View Federal was taken over by FNB also. My brother and I pay on my deceased father equity loan. We missed 4 payments and were threatened with foreclosure on a $25,000 loan! I spent approximately a month trying to resolve the problem. We were charged $500.00 more than the payments and late fees added up to. No one in Hermitage can tell me how this amount was calculated. I've contacted several Federal organizations to investigate this. My father had done business with Park View since 1965. This an exceptionally cruel bank... DO NOT do business with them or open an account. read more

Please listen to all of the negatives posted here.I had no choice when FNB took over Metro bank. FNB has a habit of making up fees,then imposing them on the un-suspecting customer. This is the third time I've have to deal with a fee on my old Metro bank savings account which,when they took over Metro they told me that "Nothing would change" with my accounts. This time they decided to charge me a monthly "Dormant account" fee.After dipping around with people on the phone and at the bank for almost 4 hours,and after I transferred a chunk of money out of the account,I finally got someone who said she would remove the fee. We shall see... BTW....another negative 10 rating from me. read more

I have to agree with other reviews! I pay everything online and cannot pay this! I have paid by phone but they make it such a hassle even trying to find the correct number to call and treating you like they are so inconvenienced by a pay by phone! Never again for me! read more

Don't get a auto loan through this bank. First off we get our loan at a dealership when we buy our and we are assuming that we will be able to pay our loan online. Wrong, we have to pay with a payment book. This bank does not take payments online. I didn't know we are back in the 1980's. That wasn't as bad as what happened to me when I go to sell the car. I get a buyer lined up and when I go into the bank to pay the car off and get the title I am told sorry but it is going to take 30 days to get my title. I have never heard anything like this in my life. Not only did I lose the buyer of my car I had to wait another month until I could put it up for sale. This is the worst bank I have ever had to deal with. Don't use this bank! This is the worst experience of customer service in my life. read more

THIS BANK SUCKS, for the economy and local VETERANS, they will rip you off quicker then the speed of light. They lie, they do not have "SAME DAY BANKING" they will wait until your entire money is gone bounce them all then add your deposit. They suck, go somewhere else and NOW. read more

Went into First National Bank in Canfield, Ohio to cash a check drawn on this bank. The teller refused to cash the check as it was for 2500.00 stating they do not cash checks for an amount over 2,000.00 even though they are the account holder's bank. I was stunned as I had never heard of this. The teller began arguing with me and just repeating this is company policy. I demanded to speak to the manager. Eventually the manager appeared. The manager had an extremely disrespectful attitude from the beginning and insisted there are no laws where they must cash any check. Sounding ridiculous, I told her I was leaving, and I will take this up with your corporate office. Her response was, good get out. Again, this is the branch manager. I looked online and discovered she is correct. In the USA, banks don't have to cash checks for anyone. I called back to apologize for my ignorance. She refused to come to the phone. I did tell the person to whom I was speaking that I was still placing a comment on google and calling the corporate office about this. I attempted to call their corporate office. The publicized phone number hangs up on a non-customer. I called two other branches. I was told other than calling that number they can't help me. Now I can clearly see why the bank maintains a less than helpful stance in this community, and the branch manager had an attitude.

Called and they fixed their mistake but are trying to charge me $16.72 for it! Wtf!?! I'll be calling tomorrow again! I have read their payment policy and it clearly states that I can make payment by phone even though they've told me I cannot. I'm looking for a lawyer that can take this on bec I'm sure I'm not the only one. And it's stealing our money bec we aren't getting all of the benefits of a principal payment. Stay away from first national bank! Thieves! Called and spoke to same young lady I called on the 4th re their mix up again. She did everything right. It's the processors messing up my acct!!! So illegal too....the $16.72 she said is a late fee. How is there a late fee when you took my principal payment on Dec 15 and applied it to my mortgage that you pull every 1st of the month. You get caught on the 4th and have to fix your mistake and on the 8th you want to charge me a late fee!?! I'm still within my grace period of 16 days so no matter which way you look at this, IT IS NOT LATE!!! You are such a thief!!!! I wish I could get a 2.6 rate somewhere else and be done with this bank. So frustrating and disgusted.

Another example of Corporate grab, grab grab. I called their call center today on January 15th, the final day of my grace period to pay my mortgage. The told me that they could take the payment, but I would be assessed a late fee. When I protested that I was paying TODAY, they balked and told me that since the funds would not be in their hands for another two days, I violated their policy and would be assessed the late fee. On the other hand, if I travel to their bank, some 30 miles away and hand them a paper check, I will NOT be assessed a late fee. Someone on HIGH needs to explain what witchcraft and wizardry is available at a local branch that is not afforded to the NATIONAL call center, but aside from all of this, let me pose this question: If you were a business owner and someone in your debt called you on the DAY THEIR BILL WAS DUE with a payment, would you assess a late fee? Furthermore...who came up with the idea of a late fee anyway? Is it a way of driving additional revenue, a deterrent against late payers...both? If the late fee is only in place to deter late payers, then when the debtor calls up with a payment to AVOID BEING LATE, doesn't it seem reasonable that you would waive the fee? And if the late fee is in place as a way to passively drive additional revenue...how do you feel about banks acting in this way? Our government just bailed out banks with OUR MONEY. Bank hijinks were the cause of the financial collapse all of us have had to endure for the past 5 years. They took over Bank Annapolis in April 2013 and the process was the worst transition that I have ever experienced ever. PNC (priority not customers) took over Annapolis Bank and trust in 2007 and that was just as bad. I guess since both of these greedy banks are from western Pa. that they both operate the same way. I have been thru transitions by Wachovia and Wells Fargo and they were not this bad. Everyone in the USA knows the ratings of Wells Fargo so putting First National Bank at the bottom of the list speaks volumes about FNB of Hermatage read more
