Where do I even begin?? My mother-n-law's car broke down off of 36 and an off duty Sheriff had her…read morecar towed to Christian Brothers and then he and his wife personally drove her to the shop. He made sure she was safe and in really good hands. The entire staff took such good care of her and even drove her home. We normally use another mechanic which we trust whole heartedly so I had the car towed to the other shop. Her motor had to be replaced and both shops gave us quotes but Christian Brother's was $1,000 less and had a rebuilt motor with lower mileage available. So we decided to use Christian Brother's for the repair. They were super quick and kept in touch with my husband and I to make sure we knew what was going on every step of the way!! (I'd like to add that the Sheriff stopped by the next day to check with them to see if she was ok!) We got the car back and all was good...and then it started to overheat so we took it back in and there was a defective seal - they replaced it of course under the 3,000 mile / 36 month warranty. Again, the drove her back and forth so she didn't have to find a ride. She even joked around with them asking if they'd mow her grass when he took her home the first time and when he brought her car to her once it had been repaired she teased that since he hadn't done the grass yet now he'd have to paint the house. Joking around like the we're old friends! Today I took my daughter to buy her first new (to her) car. Before we went shopping we stopped by to check in on the recent repair for my mother-n-law's car. Mind you we've only met briefly before - when I walked in they called me by name and immediately asked about my mother-n-law. We talked to them about our plans to buy a new vehicle and they gave us some recommendations and gave us some great advice. With my daughter having all of these new responsibilities I wanted her to know that if she ever needed a trustworthy mechanic close by - these were her guys! I am so happy that they take so much pride in their work and their customers!! It really does take a lot of stress off my plate knowing my 2 favorite girls are in good hands if they ever need it!! Guy is one of the best and most honest mechanics out there, which these days is very hard to find. He will let you know exactly what needs replacing and if he has to try and figure it out he keeps you in the loop so you know what is going on and how much it will cost. It isn't the cleanest shop but it's the clean ones I worry about - I feel that is what we are paying for, to have a nice clean place. I had a part in my car go out and another place in the area quoted me at $175 parts/labor. I was able to go to a car parts store and get the part that they were charging me $75 for around $30 then it took him less than 10 min. Instead of the $100 in labor it was going to be he charged me $8. I stopped by his shop the other day to look at my convertible top that is starting to separate from the back glass and leak when it rains. While he can't fix it I went to him because I knew he would give me an honest answer on who the best place is to get it done. I would really suggest that if you are anywhere in the Houston area and can make it to his shop it is really worth it! It will save you both time and money!

He said that they do great work and are great people, and took me over to meet them. The shop looked great, and in passing I mentioned that I needed to have a ball joint replaced on my truck. Well: Jim gave me a great price quote, which was all the more great because it included an alignment (they have an alignment bay -- something most smaller shops never have). I said, "Great, when do you want me to bring it in?" thinking I'd have to return later in the week and leave the truck for service. He said if I could hang around for an hour, they could do it right now. Wow. That has never happened to me in an auto shop before. And it wasn't like they weren't busy - - they were working on two beautiful '69 Camaros up on the lifts (that I was drooling over). Long story short: Excellent, excellent work. The part arrived in minutes. Truck fixed and aligned within an hour, plus they found and tightened a loose shock nut that had been causing creaking noises -- no charge for that. I do a lot of my own car work, and was really impressed by these guys. I'll be going back, and can highly recommend them to you!

If you have a specialty or modified car, you know not every shop is comfortable working on them, but these guys clearly know what they're doing. The quality of the work was excellent and everything was handled professionally. The owner is very upfront, courteous, and transparent. He even offered to show me underneath the car while it was on the lift so I could take a look myself. That level of honesty and openness goes a long way, specially when I know I can be a little picky on how things are done considering it's modified! The rest of the staff was also very friendly and professional, and the whole process felt smooth and straightforward. On top of that, it was a great value for the work done, which is always a plus. It's really nice finding a trustworthy shop close to home that can work on modified cars without the typical dealership hassle. Highly recommend Auto Check Sugar Land if you're looking for knowledgeable mechanics, honest service, and great value.

This turned out to be an incredibly frustrating and costly experience. The shop charged $221.94 just for the battery service, which was particularly disappointing considering a local O'Reilly's had offered to do the installation for free if I purchased the battery from them. The service was also plagued by unnecessary delays and oversight. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for two unexpected Uber rides because the shop kept my vehicle overnight, claiming the mechanic lacked the "proprietary tool" required to remove the battery. In reality, the job only requires a standard 10mm socket for the terminals and a 13mm socket with an extension for the hold-down bolt. To make matters worse, despite paying for a tire rotation, the shop completely missed that two of the rotated tires were left low on pressure. I chose to support a neighborhood business, but this experience was a lesson well learned.
