Unreasonable fees and not helpful when I called and sent messages online. I'm surprised they don't value customers more.

I was working with the Big Boys WellsFargo & Chase as well as BofA for a commercial loan to build a Health Clinic. I was warned by a couple 1031 Exchange firms & a multiple Realtors that especially Wells-Fargo won't be ready for closing... I didn't listen I had my 401K & Retirement w/ WFargo. But of course they were right & at the 11th Hour FLNB came to our rescue. What took the other banks months to do the VP at FLNB Lewis Randall made it happen & saw through the noise & that we had a great property a great plan and it all paid off. Had we not gone to a smaller bank we'd still be negotiating and trying to chase property deals because of losing out over and over and not making it to the closing on time... They are thieves they put your transactions on pending for days than they turn around and charge you none sufficient funds fees they charged me 7 times for a nine sufficient fee and didn't pay for 3 payments I made to my credit card companies they are thieves trust me don't Bsnk there take your money some where else read more

In an era where automated computer systems hand out $1,000 to $2,000 instantly and freely to anyone with a credit score over 680, this bank sure makes a lot of fuss about a $1,500 loan for a much higher credit score. Sure, it is a hometown bank that you can form a relationship with. Then they hit you with this type of customer service: "Here is a $1,500 line of credit with a $50 annual fee, we will not create any account or card for the credit line itself." You would have to manually draw from the credit line whenever you need money from it. God knows if they would waive interest if you paid early, sparse was any information on the terms of payment from the unhelpful clerk charged with my paperwork. God forbid some customer service rep replies telling me about how professional and standard this is. Personally, I don't know how your business as a bank can last with these types of inconvenient products. I can't even fathom how it is worth anyone's time to be sold this garbage unless you're selling to poor people in a payday loan racket. I'm sorry I am not a desperate customer that is willing to break his back for a $1,500 loan. Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, Bank of America all hand out $1,000+ credit cards like candy with all the bells and whistles for people with good and average credit. Your money is not so special, money is money. Money is truly money when it is easy to use and easy to pay back. When that is not the case, it ceases to be money at all. Don't be an Argentinian bank in the nation of the United States. Work with the system, consumers have more access to debt more quickly and easier than before. If you want people to suffer for your money, offer payday loans and other loanshark instruments instead. Don't pretend to be what you are not: A good and functional bank. Anyone can hold your money nowadays, there are dozens of stock brokers that can make me basic 10% interest on paltry sums of money. Give me real banking products, SUCH AS AN ACTUAL CREDIT CARD THAT JUST WORKS. I am sorry I am not some old Boomer that is familiar with these archaic banking products but you're going to have to face that newer generations with money do not have to care nor serve this type of regime. Wherever I go in life, richer or poorer, I'll make sure to stay clear of First-Lockhart National Bank. Nobody in this bank cares except about the idea that you're some poor schmuck desperate for paltry sums of cash. If you wanted to be treated as having some stable level of intrinsic value, go elsewhere. In theory, Bank of America might even treat you better and they are a pretty terrible bank as well. I don't need your services. There are hundreds if not thousands of banks in this country, and plenty of countries offer bank accounts to Americans. I go to a poor enough country, they will throw a $100,000 loan at me just because I'm an American expat. Get with the program. This country and its people are going places. Avoid. They take NSF fees when something goes negative PENDING, even if you immediately transfer money to cover before it clears. They nickel and dime you and offer no real benefit. It was easier to get $10k credit from Lowes than the institution where i have average deposits of $30k+. Ditching as fast as I can. read more

For my needs, this is perfect. I live up in Pflugerville, but the idea that a local bank would be paying over 3% interest on my Kasasa checking account means a lot to me. I can't get that on a savings account or a CD anywhere else. As a senior citizen living primarily on Social Security, every penny counts... It is a LONG drive for me to go down to south Austin, and so most of my transactions take place by mail or by phone. They have always been helpful and receptive to my requests. I have not tried to take a loan or had other transactions with them outside of my checking account. read more
