Warning SCAM ARTIST. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE OUT OF BUSINESS. Let this review serve as a warning to any one or any business that would consider using this nightmare of a company. In January of 2025 I entered into a contract for a commercial project with Zachary Freman (owner) and Jay (project manager) of First Impressions Construction. From the start I was lied to about the company's experience with commercial construction and permitting. This led to a year long costly battle with getting the proper permitting for the project. This company has destroyed my space, drilling through concrete floors, tearing down walls, and ceiling tiles and leaving all of the work unfinished. Between the inconsistent communication, ignored, timelines, and staff turnover this 6-8 week project had turned into 15 months. I have now been informed that the company is no longer in business even though 70% of the project has been paid for. I am now left with a damaged, unusable space, 5 figure loss, extreme financial hardship, emotional distress and no answers from Zach and Jay. I will do my due diligence in ensuring that no other business owner gets swindled by these con artist. read more

Same experience as the other 2026 reviews. This company went out of business. Never do business with these owners, Jay Rodas and Zachary Fremen. Jay Rodas is unreliable and full of it. No communication, no work oversight, no consistency which led to numerous rework efforts. According to Jay, they took my payments and Zach allocated the funds to different projects. They also did not make timely payments to workers. My "6-8 week project" was never completed and left unfinished after 4 months. No response to phone calls or texts. According to Jay, Zach closed the office for two weeks without communication to clients or workers. According to Zach, Jay is full of crap. They both bad mouth each other in front of clients. I had First impressions install a new staircase in my basement the job was done just ok but they didn't give me the option of selecting what kind of risers I wanted when I told the guy I wanted everything to be stained the same he told me no I had to get white which I don't love They are sloppy left a mess of plaster all in my bathroom sink toilet and on the floor which when I ask the guy why he left my bathroom like that he said he was going to clean up when he was finished but he didn't why would I leave that stuff in my sink to get hard or damage my property I cleaned it myself and he never came back every day someone differ showed up whatever time they decided to and left when they decided to without saying a word to me and by them being in my basement I would have liked a hey I'm leaving for the day I'll be back at so and so time tomorrow so I could go down and lock my basement door and secure my house the only way I knew they were gone was to look out the window and see their truck gone They are very unprofessional as well I mistakenly overpaid them and two weeks ago I was told they were putting a check in the mail so I'm checking my mail everyday looking for my money and today I get a text to send them my Zelle or Cashapp so they can send my refund they had no problem showing up at my house to collect my payments under the pretense that they were coming to check on the progress of the work the first thing the guy did was say my next payment was due but they couldn't bring my overpayment to me I'll never use then again read more

We contacted with First Impressions Construction to install a 4x4 foot stoop at our garage walkout door. Also a connected concrete ramp and sidewalk. This was to also have a whit vinyl railing on both sides. The concrete crew were very professional and thorough. The quality was excellent and completed in a reasonable time. A separate crew installed the railings. Upon arrival they informed me that they were missing a post cap and would return to install it when available. About 3 days later the gentleman returned installed the cap, picked up a bag of trash which he placed in his truck. Before leaving he carried my garbage cans down to in front of my house. We had a great experience with First Impressions Construction! They sent out Debbie, who was extremely knowledgeable and provided thoughtful recommendations to get our property rental-ready. From there, we received a fair estimate and were able to move forward quickly. Although they originally didn't have availability until the following Monday, they went above and beyond to get someone out the very next day, and the entire project was completed in just two days! We did run into a very minor issue, but what stood out was with NO questions asked, it was handled promptly and resolved overnight. We are being forced to file a property lien on a homeowner because this company did work for them and didn't pay us as a sub. Unfortunately for the homeowner, their house will have a lien against it and the only thing they did wrong was hire First Impressions to complete their work. He personally took time to scour the surrounding various stores to no avail, and eventually had to resort to order the materials directly from the manufacturer. I sincerely regret choosing first impressions for a lasting terrible impression of my bathroom remodel. It was one mistake after another that resulted in an extended time line for construction on a small bathroom. First impressions demonstrated very poor communication and performance in their work. I was not informed of what work was being performed each day nor how long it would take. No coordinating texts or responses. Especially for requests and concerns, I spoke w/ "the team" ( which changed several times ) asking for my accent wall to put up w/ purpose only to come home to find an entire wall put up straight out the box. Floor was the same way. Constant issues w/ work performed. Workers misplaced keys several times and put two holes in my ceiling by accident glossed over by management and made to feel like it was no big deal. Changes orders for ridiculous amounts. There is no concern about your job. Just money, oh you'll get a text message about that. I would never recommend First Impressions for anything to anyone. I gave these guys several chances to address their customer service and right the ship. We would not recommend First Impressions for any large project. We planned a teardown and rebuild off the back of our rancher, which is still ongoing. Jay and Zach have been fired as the subcontractors due to their complete lack of oversight. That being said, the crews they hired, actually doing the work, were very good and did a great job. Unfortunately there were not given any guidance as Jay and Zach were never onsite. There were multiple mistakes - no silt barrier was placed, foundation was poured incorrectly, wrong materials were ordered, siding was attached without the moisture barrier in place, just to name a few. They had an inability to understand the architectural plans. When addressed by us, our lead contractor and our architect, there was pushback and denial that the mistakes were their responsibility. Also check their licensing before hiring. There are people out there who work with integrity but that's not First Impressions. Keep looking!!! read more
