1 STAR -- An Absolute Waste of Time…read more This has been one of the most frustrating service experiences I've ever had. I called this company specifically because I needed an electronic damper replaced. I explained exactly what I needed and asked if they could come out, take a look, and potentially replace it the same day. I was told yes. A technician came out, was at my house for maybe five minutes, and then told me they weren't available to do the replacement that day and that I would need to call and schedule another appointment. Fine. I called and scheduled for Monday. Then, they called and said they could no longer make the Monday appointment because "something came up," but they could come the next day. Fine again. I rearranged my schedule and agreed to Tuesday. Tuesday came and went with absolutely no response. No call. No message. No technician. I eventually had to call THEM, only to find out they had apparently forgotten about the appointment. They were extremely apologetic and offered to take $100 off the replacement, assuring me they would come the following day. Guess what? Another no-show. I messaged them asking what was going on, and they responded that I had said I wasn't available that day. Excuse me...who said that? Certainly not me. I had been waiting around for them after THEY promised they were coming. Now they're saying they can come tomorrow. At this point, they have managed to waste FOUR DAYS of my time over a relatively straightforward service that they already inspected, quoted, and received my electronic approval to perform. The worst part isn't even that they couldn't complete the job immediately. Things happen. Schedules change. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of organization, communication, follow-through, and respect for the customer's time. I would honestly rather have a company tell me upfront that they can't do the job than repeatedly promise to show up, cancel, forget the appointment, not communicate, and then somehow blame the customer for their own scheduling failure. They've turned what should have been a simple repair into a four-day ordeal. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else. A bad job is one thing. A company that consistently wastes your time, doesn't show up, and can't keep track of its own appointments is another. I would not recommend this company based on this experience.

I asked Pedro if Top Star also did HVAC work (our longtime guy retired). He said no but he'd send me a name. I've put them on my calendar for biennial (every two years) maintenance visits.
