I can't share enough how helpful everyone was at this branch and this credit union in general. I had intent on coming on to speak to a banker today but before I even got there, I received a call from corporate welcoming me, listening to my concern, and getting me set up for my newly open account. I talked to a banker (didn't catch his name), Chris, and the DeAnna the branch manager. I did a walk in and did not have to wait long. DeAnna was absolutely incredible, personable, and patient in helping my ease some of my concerns I walked in with. She truly went above and beyond! I am so very grateful to DeAnna and the team here. I would absolutely recommend anyone to consider their banking here. Also, on a side note, I appreciate their financial wellness education they provide for our school community and our teachers. Awful bank. Customer service is the least of their priorities. Whenever I call it's at least an hour on hold. App is full of bugs and annoying issues that disturb my day to day. read more

It is so hard to get a hold of this credit union! Every time I call, I'm on hold for a while and the couple of times that I have actually talked to someone I get transferred to an automated line that is no help to me. Very frustrating especially when you work a 9-5 job and have very limited time throughout the day to take care of things. read more

Awful awful bank. Over 15 minutes of waiting every time you call, no matter what. The services they offer are a joke. Remote check deposit doesn't work. The reps will only ever do the bare minimum. Everything you dislike about a bank is emphasized with First Credit. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. They'll only ever waste your time. read more

I love credit unions, but this is the worst one I've ever dealt with. I bought a car and they underwrote the loan. Ever since, I have had difficulty paying them. It sounds crazy, but they make it quite difficult to actually give them money. They will not set up autopay unless it is out of one of their own checking accounts. I don't want/need another checking account, I'm happy with the credit union I've been with for the last 15 years. There is no option to pay online unless... again... it is out of a checking/savings held at FirstCU. You can pay by phone, but they charge $10 every time unless... you guessed it... it is out of an account held with their bank. I tried to set up payment through my own bank's payment service. I am told that this credit union does not accept electronic bill payments bank to bank! My bank has to cut a physical check and send it using the postal service. I guess all these roadblocks they keep putting in front of me are supposed to make me want to open a checking account there. They are having the opposite effect. Today I went and talked to my usual credit union to re-finance my car. I'm not even trying to save money. I'm doing it just so I don't have to deal with these idiots anymore! read more

I have been a member of this bank for a very long time. I have been coming to this particular branch for a few years now. The staff here are always very friendly and willing to help. A few of them even recognize me and know me by name. I have never had an issue with First Credit Union, even when I was a victim of identity theft a few years ago. If you are looking for a bank to join, this one is definitely one that you should consider. read more

This is the main branch of First Credit Union. It's a bit bigger than most of the others. But it's still the credit union. Check my reviews of the others, this one is the same. Banks suck, credit unions rock. I use banks as little as possible, preferring instead the no-hassle credit union environment. As I've said before, they have no shareholders. They are responsible to their members. Banks only care about the quarterly report to their shareholders, and they make all those profits off of YOU! read more

Love this credit union. I have had an account here for more than 20 years. I have always had exceptional service by phone and at the Tempe branch when needed, and also have online access which I use frequently. When I worked at Intel I used the Chandler branch closest to the Rural & Chandler Blvd lcoation--with great service there also. I have both a personal and business account here. I highly recommend this credit union and I've used the Tempe branch exclusively for 12+ years, including my business acct. read more

Drove 20 minutes on a Saturday to find out the Tempe, and apparently all locations, are now closed on Saturdays. I've been a member for over 10 years and didn't receive any prior notification that they had begun keeping these extreme "bankers hours". Actually, closing at 5pm Monday-Thursday is worse than most banks. If you work, when exactly are you supposed to be able to use this credit union? I guess I'm supposed to take time off from work? Ridiculous and beyond inconvenient. Shame on you First Credit Union. read more

I signed up on Yelp purposely to be able to give a 5 star review for this First Credit Union branch. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with them from account opening, to notary service to shared branching, etc. Everyone is nice- everyone is helpful. I would highly recommend them over any traditional bank. read more

I am changing my review...I have heard that you should not judge a business on their mistakes, rather on what the company does about the mistakes. After writing this review I received two voice mails AND an email to be sure that I contacted First Credit Union about my experience with "After hours Customer Service" "They (First CU of Tempe AZ) seemed sincere in their apology about my experience, and assured me that the concerns with the quality of the "after hours customer service" calls would be addressed....I belive them...so I am changing my review to four maybe five stars...for the following reasons: 1) I have been a memeber since 1994 and lived in eight US States since opening my account...they have worked with me regardless of where I lived including a preapproval of a possible home mortgage and a car loan 2) First CU has worked with me to repay a studen loan (Line of credit) while I was sick and unemployed 3) If you do reach a First Credit Union member, and not an after hours person, they respond accurately, friendly and professionally sooo maybe I was too harsh with the prior review....their phones are busy.....if you get an after hours person, I would encourage you to request to be transferred to First CU Employee. read more
