What a difference a location makes...after the abysmal treatment we received at the other branch,…read morewe weren't sure we should even open an account. But we took the drive over to the Belton location and tested the waters. We're so happy we did. My husband and I were greeted by a very friendly teller who came out to the front to say hello, welcome, and she helped check us in. Zulia brought us in to open our account, she listened to what we had experienced earlier, and took care of business. She made our experience exactly what we'd hoped for: Pleasant, professional, and informative. We have decided that she's our person when it comes to our banking needs. Where she is, that's where we're going. If not for Zulia, our accounts would have been opened somewhere else entirely. She saved the day and we are thankful.

I have banked both personally and business wise with several banks; the attentiveness and level of service I receive here is by far and away above any I have had from any other bank. From the very first conversation, Eric was open and honest about our chances of approval and clearly explained the type of loan we were getting, along with the steps involved in the process. Throughout the entire experience, Eric kept us informed and up to date on every development. He took the time to listen to all of our questions and concerns, addressed them thoroughly, and made sure we always understood what was happening. His communication, transparency, and professionalism truly stood out. Eric made the loan process smooth and surprisingly enjoyable. He is kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely driven to help his clients get approved without putting them into a financial situation they can't afford. We are extremely grateful for his support and guidance and would absolutely recommend working with Eric Simmons at SouthStar Bank to anyone looking for a loan.

I was waiting in line before a lady came from the back and asked "What do you need?"…read more My wife's card info was stolen and we needed to get new cards. We told her this, and was rudely asked: "Repeat that." When I did, she told me to wait until the teller was done servicing the person in front of me; and she walked away. Funny, I thought that's why I was waiting in line. After the person in front of me was done, the teller took us to an office to deal with the situation. We were told that because we opened the account in Georgetown, we couldn't get new cards at the Belton location because the "numbers were different than the Georgetown numbers," and that "this is only a sister location." Why call it First Texas Bank if I can't do account maintenance here? Why was I treated so rudely? We opened the account in Georgetown many years ago and moved to the Belton/Temple area. The teller was very kind to us, and tried to work it out; but we got nowhere. Long story short, the bankers here are extremely rude for no apparent reason. Also, why would you call yourself a First Texas Bank if you have completely different standards, supervisors, Presidents/Vice Presidents than the other location that shares the same name? They have lost our business--not because of the inconvenience of having to drive to Georgetown to sort this out--but because of their absolutely unwarranted rude behavior. The Georgetown First Texas Bank is much better than this one, so it's very disappointing that they have to lose customers because of their "sister location."

Recently, we've tried to open a family business account and have been dodged and weaved by the "cocky" bankers there. Always with an over sarcastic tone, no helpful guidance the times we show up with "not enough paperwork", and always booked backed to back all day with clients as they sit in their cubicle on their phones. I would not recommend this branch instead the harker heights location who have time and time again have provided assistance no matter the time we show up.

Brittney said to come back today and they could help us. My husband said he had a bad feeling. The staff were dismissive and rude. But I told him to give them a chance. Maybe they weren't that bad. Oh how wrong I was! He was spot on in his assessment. The two women we dealt with today were absolutely dismissive, rude, and condescending. They don't have a business account specialist on site today? That's fair since it's a Saturday but it would've been nice if Brittney had stated that yesterday. When we stated we were told they'd be open and we could come in, the lady said "well we are open. We just can't help you." First red flag. Second red flag: another man came in behind us and the woman didn't even acknowledge him with a smile, a we will be right with you, nothing. Final red flag: the woman told us to go to another branch nearby and couldn't have been more condescending if she tried when we asked for the address, explaining that we were new to the area. I'm in education now but I worked in customer service for 25 years. I've experienced some of the worst and some of the best. This was by far some of THE worst. I'm skeptical to even open an account with Texell at all. But I'm hopeful another branch will give us a better experience. We will see...
