Every word you read about how amazing Marina is totally true. I just had my first experience with First Class Tailors!!! I went in Friday before New Years, after reading some glowing recommendations online.... 3 Jackets, 5 pairs of pants to alter.... I walk in ( no problem parking), and Marina takes care of me better than Stacy and Clinton on "What not to wear" ... She consults with me about clothing and style, and then she school's me on what I should be looking for when shopping. Not only about styles, but also she suggested brands to try that would look good on me... (I especially was looking for some jeans ideas) She says the standard week to complete the work and 50% down cash. Fine with me if the clothes look good, right? A week seemed fair enough... and there was New Years in there... The prices she quoted were all the same as everyone else around here, so I was totally cool with her rates.... And further, as others have posted, she told me two of my pants weren't worth my keeping and spending the money on... she really seems to want to make people look good and it shows in her attitude and comments! (Thanks, truly, someone who cares!) So, today, Monday, she calls me and says " Everything is ready!!!" DAYS EARLY!!! I was so thrilled... I had been out shopping for jeans with her recommendations in mind, and I was wanting to bring some jeans I bought to her, if my other clothes turned out right. I went and tried on my clothes.... WHAT!!!@!!! RIDICULOUS!!! The best work I have ever seen... truly perfect, and I am so hard to please....Two of my jackets were kinda lame originally, but Marina totally remade the jackets and now they are INCREDIBLE....!!! Also, she narrowed the legs of some of my pants, making them just perfect for MY body... WOW! Everything is totally perfect... the pants, the jackets... AMAZING! Marina is great - honest, straightforward, funny and extremely talented. I know my clothing will look incredible and fit perfectly when I pick it up. My husband and I have everything tailored by First Class - gowns, dresses, suits, jeans and trousers. It's a bit pricey but totally fair for the quality of the work. Cash only. Wash and DRY your denim before you come. Also, it sometimes takes a few minutes to get a fitting room, but that's a sign that others agree with the quality of their work. read more

My fiancé (now wife) and I researched various tailors in the Los Angeles area and after reading all of the great reviews for First Class Tailors, we decided to take my wedding suit there - mind you, we live 25 miles away. Marina is fantastic - she takes enormous pride in her work. She made certain that I looked my best. She will give you her opinions and suggestions point blank. Our first visit, she suggested that I go out and buy a different suit. Second visit, she loved the suit, however, suggested I switch out the buttons and gave us the specific color and measurements for the buttons. Third visit, she took the suit in for alterations, but not before sending us out to buy a white collared shirt with a specific fit and measurements. She also suggested the specific measurement for the necktie. She appeared to care more about how I looked than we did. The end result was awesome and it showed - especially in our wedding photos. But, I'd rather have my important items tailored by someone reliable than by my cheapest option. Marina is a warm-hearted generous person who gives great advice - so much so that she is not afraid to lose some money (in the cost of tailoring) to make sure the customer is happy. For instance, my now husband brought his tux to her store for tailoring and she simply refused to tailor it as it was about one and a half sizes too large! The cost of tailoring it to fit him would have equaled the cost of a new suit. She recommended a couple shops to find a tux that fit him better (in fact, the new tux we got from the store she recommended fit him like it was made for him already) and all she needed to do was the most minor of alterations - and in no time at all. I brought in 2 kurtas for them to alter, with one of them requiring significant alterations due to poor initial work by the original manufacturer. They not only provided me with their honest opinion on both, but also offered fair and reasonable prices for the amount of work that was done. In fact, for the second garment, they realized that they couldn't do the initial approach they decided and offered me a partial refund for a different, simpler approach. Nice and simple. Went in with some track pants to get altered. Put them on and she asked me if I'm gonna wear it barefoot or with shoes. Blah blah and I find the length I wanted and I'm out. She said it will be done on Saturday when I brought it in on Thursday, which is pretty quick in my opinion Picked it up and the stitching looked exactly like when I first bought it and length was good.
