A&J Windows - My Final Experience AVOID AT ALL COSTS…read more.. I've been a loyal customer and have referred A&J Windows to countless others. Sadly, after repeated recent experiences, I can say with certainty: I will never use them again. This is not an angry rant--it's a careful, factual account of a company that has crossed the line from incompetence to outright deception. Communication & Professionalism Getting in touch with them is nearly impossible. Dozens of calls and emails go ignored. When Reggie finally responds, it's with a new excuse, never accountability. This isn't a one-off--it's the norm. Issue #1 - Misuse of Funds / Nothing Delivered On a $16,000 skylight job, their supplier confirmed that A&J never even ordered the product--despite Reggie telling me countless times, "I'll install tomorrow." Meanwhile, they charged me more than 100% of the contract total and delivered absolutely nothing I paid for. This is not a misunderstanding--it's a Trust Fund Violation and fraud, plain and simple. Issue #2 - Seven No-Shows with an Open Roof After cutting open the roof, they cancelled seven separate times, often the morning of the supposed install--always insisting, "Tomorrow without fail." But no skylight had ever been ordered. My crew had to patch and reopen the roof six separate times (4+ hours labor each) to prevent water damage. This rippled across the project, holding up roofers, framers, Sheetrock, stair installers, and landscapers--delaying us by more than two months. Issue #3 - Bait & Switch on Materials On another project, they showed up with cheap spray-painted vinyl windows instead of the bronze aluminum specified in our signed contract. When I refused delivery, Reggie claimed I had "approved vinyl in person"--a blatant lie. As someone who has despised vinyl windows for 15+ years, there is no scenario in which I would ever have agreed to that substitution. Issue #4 - Referrals Burned A client I referred reported a nearly identical story: upfront payment demands, subpar workmanship, and refusal to fix mistakes. That reflects directly on me--and I deeply regret ever recommending them. Bottom Line For nine months I've pursued reimbursement, with nothing but stall tactics. My conclusion is unavoidable: * Unethical in their practices * Untrustworthy in their promises * Fraudulent in their handling of funds If you value your project, your budget, or your sanity--stay away.

First Yelp review ever. Stay away. Unreliable…read more They insisted on coming for an in-person estimate vs offering a ballpark on Yelp like every other company. At first, this seemed like a good thing and that they were being exact and precise in their work. So I took the afternoon off and arranged to have them come to my apt the following week. On the day they were supposed to come by, I received a call 2 hours before they were due, telling me they wouldn't be able to make it that day. At first, I thought, ok, emergencies occur. But the reason I was given was that the owner decided to pull the guy doing my estimate off the job so he could help the owner move his office. I asked why I wasn't contacted earlier to reschedule, before taking a half day. The response was that they just found out about this! WHAT??? Did the owner decide to pick up and move offices on a whim?? Makes no sense at all. Zero regard for other people's time and inconvenience. On the plus side, this experience saved me from having to deal with more nonsense further down the line.

Long Island Windows and Siding - Florence unpaid cod receipt

BEWARE! CRIMINAL! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!…read more Stole $2,000 cash deposit from me, said they would refund it, and now refuse. Agreed to provide a certain type of basement window for me, took over 2 months to schedule install, then tried to get me to pay the window vendor COD for a different window than we had agreed on. I refused, and now Peter wants to keep my money. There is a character limit here so I will try to shorten this story. Peter Calandrino, Owner of "All Island Windows & Siding", and Partner of "Long Island Windows and Siding" is refusing to refund my $2,000 deposit after trying to install a different type of window than we had discussed. Pete did window and siding work on my home years ago. I reached out August 18th 2025 and sent him photos of the basement windows I wanted to now replace. He agreed that the windows, and wood surrounds would need to be replaced. I was clear, and adamant that I wanted the same style of window that I currently had, which was a hopper style window which opened into the home from the bottom of the window. He came to my home on August 21st 2025 to review the job, at which time I again reiterated that I wanted the same style of window I currently had which would open from the bottom. We wrote up the contract and I gave him a $1,500 cash deposit. Four days later he called me stating that he was working on another big project which had utilized most of his credit line with the manufacturer, and that he needed an additional $500 from me. Unfortunately because of our relationship and knowing he had done a much larger project for me in the past, I trusted Pete and agreed to give him the money. After much back and forth trying to get scheduled, and Peter assuring me he has my windows but the weather wasn't good, we set the job up to be completed on Thursday November 6th 2025 between 8am and 9am, and that the job would be done that same day. The day came and at 7:20am a truck from "Florence Building Materials" comes and the driver says he has a window delivery for me and that they were purchased with an agreement for COD (cash on delivery). This is not what Peter and I had discussed so I called him and he claimed that his guy Joe was supposed to give them a check, but because Joe was running late, that I should pay them and he would take it off the amount I owed him upon job completion. I told him this was not acceptable and not what we agreed to and I did not want to pay any more money until the the job was completed. He became hostile and reminded me that we have worked together before in the past and that he "wasn't trying to screw me" and said that if I didn't pay them the company wouldn't leave the windows and he wouldn't be able to do my job. After waiting for 2 months when I was promised a one month turnaround time, I felt I had no choice. I decided to look at the windows before making payment, and saw that these windows opened from the top, and not the bottom like we had agreed upon. I called Peter and he immediately told me that they don't make a window that opens from the bottom because it would leak. I reminded him that my current windows open from the bottom, and we had specifically discussed that the replacement windows would open the same way 2 months prior. He became argumentative with me and condescending over the phone, trying to force me to install these windows which were not what I had wanted. I told Peter that I wanted to cancel the job and get my money back. He agreed to refund my $2,000 in deposits and said he would call me the following week. Now today I call Peter to get my refund and he states he will not refund my money at all. He lies about Florence Building Materials keeping his deposit. I informed him that I had already spoken directly with Florence and that I was aware he had not given them a deposit at all! I begged him to give back my $2,000 as I did not want to have to take him to small claims court but he told me "see you in court, you'll lose" and ended the call.
