I wish I could of gave no stars. This is the worst Real Estate I have ever dealt with. Ms. Brodie is the absolute worst property manager. I sent this lady about 30 emails about the upstairs neighbors being super disruptive and my family got put out. She told us that we would get our security deposit back and that was just another lie of hers. We left the house spotless mind you I got pictures and video to prove how we left the house and they came up with nonsense just to not give us our money back. Do not I repeat Do Not rent 117 N. Walnut. Her family members live upstairs and there son runs and jumps and throws all day long. They are the worst and Ms. Brodie lets them get away with everything. The whole building is very unprofessional. From the secretary in front to the agents including Ms. Brodie. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS. THEY SUCK. THEY LET FAMILY RUN A MUCK AND REFUSED TO HANDLE THEM. Once again don't rent or buy from them you will regret it. 117 N. Walnut has a family upstairs that cannot control their children. Trust me you will regret it. And they are family so First Class will not believe anything you say. I even went to the police. Heather at the receptionist desk could use some remedial training in customer service skills. She doesn't have a good concept of how to manage phone duty and walk ins. I was there on business and she failed to acknowledge me for more than 5 minutes while she was on the phone. Albeit she was speaking with a tenant, she intermingled personal conversation with this person without even acknowledging me. She could have put that party on hold and addressed me as I was there to see an agent or at least asked me to have a seat while she handled the caller who she was interspersing professional and personal business with. Do NOT go here if you have a housing voucher. They take your money and you will NOT get the unit. They are not aware of how Housing vouchers work and how its in the best interest to keep the unit clean and rent always paid! And no damages to the unit. Now they got my little money they will move on to the rest of you. MILITARY FAMILIES DO NOT RENT OR BUY HERE. It's been over a year since I broke my lease, and finally I don't feel afraid to share an opinion without threat of being sued-yes, these people are that bad, I am not exaggerating in the slightest. If you have any time at all to find a different realty, I implore you, find somewhere else. I rented a larger house with other military members while I was here, and the number of rude and angry phone calls/text messages/emails were just unreal. I couldn't even feel safe inside the property I PAID for because of the management, and specifically the owner, Ken Brodie. I'd imagine he's the one behind all the day-to-day business, because everyone I ever dealt with here sure seems really unhappy with their job. First. We lived in a neighborhood with an HOA. 1stC Never mentioned that ANYWHERE on the lease or other signing documents. No HOA rules given, no explanation, nothing. We had to find the plans from the original developer of the neighborhood (all the way back to 2005!) to sort through just to find the HOA covenants ourselves. So of course we accidentally got the crazy lady from the HOA all stirred up without knowing it for putting our trash cans where she didn't approve, etc etc. This woman starts calling 1st Class to tell them we're doing all sorts of things, and instead of actually asking us what was going on, they started telling us the owner of the house was incredibly angry with us and expected not to hear anything else about our horrible behavior and if we didn't straighten up that they'd give us a bad recommendation if we rented anywhere else. Well, the owner of our house happened to also be in the military. Weird, because you'd think people in the military might actually check with each other if one of us is angry, especially if they think someone isn't taking care of their house while they're away. We did check with the owner, and the owner of the house hadn't heard anything at all from 1stC. Ken Brodie even made up some bluster about "if I was your attorney, I'd pretend I didn't know what you were talking about". Well hello Ken, I really *don't* know what you're talking about, and I highly doubt that if you can't even afford to give people their security deposit back (or even pay rent to the property owners) or fix ANYTHING in the house that you can afford an attorney. Get bent. Which brings me to maintenance. They conveniently leave the responsibility of maintenance of things like the washer and dryer, dishwasher, etc off of the lease as their responsibility to maintain if something breaks. You're in luck if you have just a microwave and a refrigerator, but screwed otherwise. The almost year I rented from these people, I think we managed to get the ceiling fan in the master bedroom fixed. Not any of the other appliances, but they could hire an electrician to come out at 7 or 8 in the evening! We attempted at least 3 times to have some of the major appliances repaired before just doing it ourselves. Disgraceful. Too bad Delaware tenant/landlord laws in a Delaware favor the landlord. Oh! And one more thing-They seem to have quite poor data management practices, because I've had times where I got phishing emails from their staff, months and months after I've had nothing to do with them. If you're concerned too, go elsewhere to rent. I'm serious. If they can't keep their professional email addresses secure, what are they doing with your social security number to protect it? First Class indeed. I've had better service and experiences on Frontier Airlines than here. read more

We've been renting since 2016 and have had no issues. The property management company is very considerate of our privacy and trusts that we will take good care of the property. We will continue to rent this house and will definitely use First class Properties as our realtor, should we decide to purchase in the future! read more

Whatever you do ...DON'T! This is the worst company. We rented a house which was managed by First Class Properties, now Weichert, when we first moved to the area due to military relocation. We wanted to rent for a year to learn about the area before buying a home. The house was filthy and had much damage when we moved in and we documented everything with photos and completed their form listing the condition of the home. I happen to know that the previous tenants were evicted because their notices of eviction were in the mailbox. So they never cleaned and the property manager (Ken Brodie) swore the house had been cleaned twice! They do inspections on the homes every 6 months and always complimented us on how nice the house looked and were thankful that we were caring for it well. At the end of our lease we moved out because we bought a home in the area. Ken Brodie advised us that he would not be returning our security deposit because he said we never turned in anything documenting the condition of the home and there were broken fans, chewed up blinds by pets, patch marks in the walls, cracked doors etc. Well he may have lost the documentation, but I hadn't and my copy was signed as received. I had been requesting that they fix all of these broken things since we moved in, but they wouldn't. Now he was trying to pin it all on me. I had to take my computer with my pictures that I had already given and my documentation into the office and be willing to court over it. I was treated extremely rudely by the receptionist as well as Mr. Brodie. During our meeting, he said he would mail me my security deposit back because I had proof, but that if he wanted he could change his mind as soon as I left the building. I told him at this point that wouldn't surprise me at all. I really didn't understand this behavior because we were always on time with our rent. We took care of the property and actually improved upon its condition at our own time/$ just to make it more livable because First Class Properties would not. When we were shopping to buy our home we would NOT even consider looking at a house for sale listed by Weichert or First Class Properties. I honestly think they charge each tenant for existing damage and never actually make any repairs. Be sure to keep all of your documentation! Better yet, stay away from them. read more
