I came back before the 45 minutes was up and they said I missed the person who would've service me. This place gets two stars for their ambience and the accommodations for young children. My daughter enjoyed her experience but the manager got a lil snippy with me. She moved my daughters snack but tried to blame it on my daughter. Big no no... you're an adult... it's not that serious... say you don't know what you did with her snack. Anywho... she says she'll give my daughter her snack once I point out where it is... SHE NEVER DOES. I get up and do it between services. Now, my services.... I was cut twice by my pedicure nail tech. The first time was during callous removal... she must have been new. She took off all my skin on one side of my foot, so much so it started to burn from air exposure! Secondly, she did not cut my cuticles. The manager looked over and said that the nail tech did. She did not. So the nail tech starts to cut my cuticles and she cuts my toe until it bleeds. Doesn't say anything to me. Saving grace: My manicure nail tech did a great job. She also did my eyebrows. She seemed to be 2nd in command to the manager. My only complaint for my daughters service is that they didn't have toxic free nail polish like ginger and Liz. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE! All the previous reviewers who rated it a one star are telling you the truth and I can attest to that because I have had not one, not two but three incident at that place! The most recent one happened on 09/28/21 when I went there for a gel manicure, on the same day (not even the next day), the nail polish started to peel off! Now if you are familiar with the "Gel" nail polish method, it is suppose to last 2 to 3 weeks. Well this one did not even last a day. When I went back the next day to inform the nail tech and schedule to have my nails fixed, she basically told me that she could only accommodate me on that same day or the next day. I explained that the timing didn't work for me because I was on my lunch break and the next day I wouldn't be able to come back either due to work. The tech basically responded that those were the only days she was able to offer me. She then gave my the owner's phone number (Carlos). When I contacted the owner he was extremely rude and disrespectful and he pretty much said to me that it wasn't his fault that I was unavailable at the times his staff could accommodate me. No one took any responsibility for the mistake or the inconvenience it caused me. When I told him that NO ONE from South Orange ever recommends his salon, he got upset and hung up the phone. When I ask my neighbors for recommendations First Class is never on the list. The worst customer service. I got my nails done on Wednesday with the dip method. Now 1 day later my nails are cracking and one nail chipped. I go to show the nail tech and she tells me I need an appointment for her to fix it (mind you I didn't have an appointment when she did it and took my money) I told her I am going away the next day and have no way to make any appointment and she says she can't help me. They have nice interior and very clean BUT for $70 which was a regular pedicure and a UV gel manicure with gel color, they should not rush because someone is waiting. Also on more than one occasion my toes were done but someone who was new and appeared to be training still. Not only did she not speak English which is very annoying when trying to communicate what you want but she did a horrible job. My suggestion would be to make the customer aware that the worker is new and maybe offer a discounted rate or let the customer know when the next experienced worker will be available. Not sure if I was talked about because I don't speak Spanish--they just seemed to be talking about food. It was more expensive than a few other places in the area, but you pay for more of a salon/spa experience (nice music playing, classy decor...) I was at 3 stars but I dinged it down to 2 bc I came home with my mani at 6pm, and by 2pm the next day there was a big chip just like other reviewers said. These people are rip offs. I used to come here regularly and now I came back after moving to Florida. My mom goes regularly because of me and she made my appointment while I was in town for the holidays. I paid $119 for me and my 9 year old to get regular pedis, my daughter got gel French mani, and I got acrylics with gel French mani. I was there for 2.5 hours and had to leave before I got my nails painted. They said to come for my polish cause I paid for it. I go back and got my gel French paint and they charged me an additional $25!!! The owner said $20 per pedi = $40, she said $28 for my daughters French gel nail polish, which would mean I paid $51 for my acrylics and Gel polish. So why did I pay an additional $25 when I finally got my nails painted!? She said $25 for the French little V design. So you're telling me acrylics with gel French polish is $76?!!!! That's ridiculous. They said I paid for the paint and after getting my nails painted they charged me more money. Mind you I had to come back only cause they were slow. Most of the time I leave this place very happy! I only come for the spa pedicures because I usually wear UnI Pressed Press on Nails on my hands. I do recommend soaking ur feet at home first because they only put you in hot hot water if you ask for it really hot. Then when they do, they are ready to get u in and out so you only soak for about 1-2 mins. Ridiculous. I just wish the people were more consistent so I could always have the same person and I wish they would enforce their cell phone rule. I recommend the first class spa pedicure! My fav! This place also doesn't smell like nail polish and chemicals, Hispanic women vs Asian women, and they play good music. read more

It shows and just confirms that the OTHER reviews, including mines support that you and your staff have very poor customer service skills. Or I should say, that you do not have any at all. The very first time my toes were done, the nail polish came of my toes the next day! I returned and told the lady in the store, and she had my feet polished for free, when I returned (3 days later). She fixed the error or issue that was done from the poor service. Which was satisfactory to me. And it was actually that day, where my skin was buffed off of my toe. It was that day my skin was broken so bad it took a while for it to stop bleeding. Not to mention it was in a lot of pain. Last week, I returned, with the hopes that that issue would be rectified in some way shape or form. I did not have anything in mind but I wanted courtesy for her bruising my toe. With that in mind, I requested to have another lady to do my nails and eye brows. I specifically told the other lady I did not want the same girl who bruised my toe to do my nails. I had an extra long wait. I did not mind, because my request to have someone else provide me services was granted. The lady took me to the back to do my eyebrows. As she was preparing things I explained to her what the girl did. I took off my shoe and even showed her the damage. In that moment, my toe was still in pain from getting the skin buffed off. I requested the girl to please keep my brows big. I like them full. She said ok no problem. But did she do that? No. She retaliated against me for telling her a complaint. Is that how your customers are treated in your salon? Yes. Confirmation by her actions. She took off half of my brows. What was she getting by doing that? It's hair and it grows back. But that's how petty she was. Poor customer service. And I know you don't understand. It would take a professional individual with common sense to do so. Irregardless to that I only went back to have the girl with the bun in her hair to do my feet. Because she did a great job the last time and SHE TOOK HER TIME! I was giving this salon the benefit of the doubt. But you're actually right. Your salon was not worthy of that benefit at all. Thank you for demonstrating that. And Carlos, a little FYI, The reason why your salon received the poor rating is indicative to the same reasons why you're a TWO POINT FIVE STAR SALON. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. 50 people cannot be wrong! Do you think I'm upset, by being asked to leave? No. Not in the least. You don't have that power sweetheart! But asking me to not return is not going to fix the problem. Because your customer service skills will remain the same. And slowly people will really look and pay attention to all the Yelp reviews. You know that saying three strikes and your out, well that isn't the case here! This is my third visit and I can honestly say I love this place. I always get a regular pedicure and my nails wrapped, ilast me for a whole month and this is without Gel. The nail technicians are kind, understanding, and patient. My first experience wasn't the best, but I've learned not to penalize a location because of one persons actions, just ask for someone else, because we all have our days. The ambience is relaxing, so it definitely passed on the Spa feeling besides all the great Spa treatments that are available. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Gel nail polish chips soon after manicure. they will fix, but who has time to go back and wait again. I have had it happen to me more than once. Once i had to go twice in one week. my biggest issue is they have signs posted that you can't use cell phones. However, every time and I mean every time I go, there is some rude person who is on a cell phone talking loud and taking away from what should be a relaxing experience. quite frankly I do not want to hear other customers phone calls. when I asked the woman who appears to be in charge she looks at me like I am crazy. sometimes she will ask people to get off the phone but most times she does not. she told me when she asks the customers to get off the phone they get mad. Why have the signs posted. most times if one customer sees another on the phone then they feel it's OK for them to be on the phone too. it really gets out of control and takes away from the experience. I had gotten my nails done with the dip powder. They were cracked by the same night. I came back the next day to get them fixed and they were horribly done. There were black specks and lack of color on many nails. When I asked for my money back, I was refused the money. I was told that all they could do was fix them but at that point, there were already extremely thick and done very fast and sloppily. This place is great FOR THE PRICES. I personally love it, it's clean, comfortable atmosphere, and really friendly workers. Only reason for four stars is they still make you wait a bit even if you have made a reservation. Quite frankly, I'm not sure what these reviewers are expecting for a cheap priced nail salon. If they want an absolute perfect experience (which there is nothing wrong with that!) then go somewhere with prices that would reflect that. As a student, I can get my nails done cheap and nicely! I scheduled a 4pm appointment for mani and pedi for me and my 9 yr old. We waited until well after 4:30 before they put my 9 yr old in the "Princess Chair" and rushed her through a pedicure while I still waited for a chair. They made her foot bleed and then stood over her and had her twist her entire body and arms while she gave her a sloppy manicure. This was my last visit. So disappointed. The place was nice inside, and I appreciated that a callous wrap and scrub were included. I agree with some comments about the need to speak Spanish, but I got by with my old college Spanish skills. If you are into décor and the appearance of a first class salon without customer service, then this is the place for you. I used to visit this salon faithfully when they first opened. Then the service dropped off significantly shortly after. There is one technician who has been there from the beginning that is very polite. The owners are hot and cold, but other than giving either of them my card my interaction with them was minimal. The technician Nancy "graduated" to become a "gel" manicurist. She is rude, speaks adversely about the patrons in Spanish. She caught me looking at her when she was complaining about a customer who asked for the nail polish to be corrected. Yes, Nancy I caught you - AGAIN! I will give them a "B" for keeping the place clean and an "A" for appearance. As soon as a pedi is finish the basin and area is cleaned. They use ultraviolet light to clean the nail tools. They have a menu of appealing services. If the customer service was better I would love to try them. I visited the salon late last month because I had another appointment. A mid Saturday morning and First Class had 1 patron; which should be a sign to the owners; they should take these reviews seriously or they will be out of business. Though I've been here many times the disrespect was out this world. As a African American women I've never been so racially profiled in my life the way I was today. I was asked to pay before services was done (which was news to me) and when I do pay the payment method was incorrect. I asked both sisters to void the transaction and they both said "that device does not work like that." The first lie!!! Lol I'm like that's impossible that you can't void a transition. I love this place! I moved to the area about a year and a half ago and needed a new nail salon to go for my regular nail appointments that I get about every 3 weeks. I called all the nail salons in the area, and they had the best prices, so I decided to start going to them. They do a phenomenal job and are always very professional. My nails last a long time whenever they do them. The girls there are so sweet like even if a nail of mine chips, and I come in to get it fixed or redone, they will do it for free. There was one time I didn't like the way the color came out, and I came in the next day, and they redid my entire nails for free. If you get your nails done a standard color, and you want the ring fingernail painted a glittery color, they won't charge you extra. They also give you a card that gets stamped every time you come, and after several visits you get money off of your next appointment. Would highly recommend! read more
