    This place gets two stars for their ambience and the accommodations for young children. My daughter enjoyed her experience but the manager got a lil snippy with me. She moved my daughters snack but tried to blame it on my daughter. Big no no... you're an adult... it's not that serious... say you don't know what you did with her snack. Anywho... she says she'll give my daughter her snack once I point out where it is... SHE NEVER DOES. I get up and do it between services. Now, my services.... I was cut twice by my pedicure nail tech. The first time was during callous removal... she must have been new. She took off all my skin on one side of my foot, so much so it started to burn from air exposure! Secondly, she did not cut my cuticles. The manager looked over and said that the nail tech did. She did not. So the nail tech starts to cut my cuticles and she cuts my toe until it bleeds. Doesn't say anything to me. Saving grace: My manicure nail tech did a great job. She also did my eyebrows. She seemed to be 2nd in command to the manager. My only complaint for my daughters service is that they didn't have toxic free nail polish like ginger and Liz. Also, the manager who did her nails didn't ask me if the color my daughter chose was ok. Like, my daughter's not paying my dude... ask the person paying! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! Instead, i will encourage another nail salon to incorporate a children's chair.

    PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE! All the previous reviewers who rated it a one star are telling you the truth and I can attest to that because I have had not one, not two but three incident at that place! The most recent one happened on 09/28/21 when I went there for a gel manicure, on the same day (not even the next day), the nail polish started to peel off! Now if you are familiar with the "Gel" nail polish method, it is suppose to last 2 to 3 weeks. Well this one did not even last a day. When I went back the next day to inform the nail tech and schedule to have my nails fixed, she basically told me that she could only accommodate me on that same day or the next day. I explained that the timing didn't work for me because I was on my lunch break and the next day I wouldn't be able to come back either due to work. The tech basically responded that those were the only days she was able to offer me. She then gave my the owner's phone number (Carlos). When I contacted the owner he was extremely rude and disrespectful and he pretty much said to me that it wasn't his fault that I was unavailable at the times his staff could accommodate me. No one took any responsibility for the mistake or the inconvenience it caused me. When I told him that NO ONE from South Orange ever recommends his salon, he got upset and hung up the phone. The prices may be cheap but you get what you pay for. I should have known that something was wrong when the locals don't go there. When I ask my neighbors for recommendations First Class is never on the list. Lastly, if a place needs to specify in their names that they are a "First Class" establishment know that they are absolutely lying!

    The worst customer service. I got my nails done on Wednesday with the dip method. Now 1 day later my nails are cracking and one nail chipped. I go to show the nail tech and she tells me I need an appointment for her to fix it (mind you I didn't have an appointment when she did it and took my money) I told her I am going away the next day and have no way to make any appointment and she says she can't help me. Myself as well as another customer tried to explain that making an appointment would not work for me, we also said maybe I can come back at the end of the night, she began to ignore me and kept working on her customer. After paying for my nails and giving a nice tip I have to go away with messed up nails. Will never go there again. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

    AVOID!!!! Here is my full story... My gel mani experience itself was pretty good. It looks really natural, which is nice. Not sure if I was talked about because I don't speak Spanish--they just seemed to be talking about food. It was more expensive than a few other places in the area, but you pay for more of a salon/spa experience (nice music playing, classy decor...) I was at 3 stars but I dinged it down to 2 bc I came home with my mani at 6pm, and by 2pm the next day there was a big chip just like other reviewers said. (And all I'd done was eat dinner, sleep, and drive to my parents' for thanksgiving!) Ok now it is 3.5 days after mani and 2 nails are peeling off, there's the big chip on my thumbnail and now another one where the fill in was done badly. See photos. Down to one star :(

    These people are rip offs. I used to come here regularly and now I came back after moving to Florida. My mom goes regularly because of me and she made my appointment while I was in town for the holidays. I paid $119 for me and my 9 year old to get regular pedis, my daughter got gel French mani, and I got acrylics with gel French mani. I was there for 2.5 hours and had to leave before I got my nails painted. They said to come for my polish cause I paid for it. I go back and got my gel French paint and they charged me an additional $25!!! The owner said $20 per pedi = $40, she said $28 for my daughters French gel nail polish, which would mean I paid $51 for my acrylics and Gel polish. So why did I pay an additional $25 when I finally got my nails painted!? She said $25 for the French little V design. So you're telling me acrylics with gel French polish is $76?!!!! That's ridiculous. They said I paid for the paint and after getting my nails painted they charged me more money. Mind you I had to come back only cause they were slow. I had a 2pm appointment and left at 4:30 with no paint on my nails. All to come back and pay an extra $25. I will never come back here.

    Carlos; I'm actually glad that you replied and especially even more glad you responded in the manner in which you did. It shows and just confirms that the OTHER reviews, including mines support that you and your staff have very poor customer service skills. Or I should say, that you do not have any at all. The very first time my toes were done, the nail polish came of my toes the next day! I returned and told the lady in the store, and she had my feet polished for free, when I returned (3 days later). She fixed the error or issue that was done from the poor service. Which was satisfactory to me. And it was actually that day, where my skin was buffed off of my toe. It was that day my skin was broken so bad it took a while for it to stop bleeding. Not to mention it was in a lot of pain. Last week, I returned, with the hopes that that issue would be rectified in some way shape or form. I did not have anything in mind but I wanted courtesy for her bruising my toe. With that in mind, I requested to have another lady to do my nails and eye brows. I specifically told the other lady I did not want the same girl who bruised my toe to do my nails. I had an extra long wait. I did not mind, because my request to have someone else provide me services was granted. The lady took me to the back to do my eyebrows. As she was preparing things I explained to her what the girl did. I took off my shoe and even showed her the damage. In that moment, my toe was still in pain from getting the skin buffed off. I requested the girl to please keep my brows big. I like them full. She said ok no problem. But did she do that? No. She retaliated against me for telling her a complaint. Is that how your customers are treated in your salon? Yes. Confirmation by her actions. She took off half of my brows. What was she getting by doing that? It's hair and it grows back. But that's how petty she was. Poor customer service. And I know you don't understand. It would take a professional individual with common sense to do so. Irregardless to that I only went back to have the girl with the bun in her hair to do my feet. Because she did a great job the last time and SHE TOOK HER TIME! I was giving this salon the benefit of the doubt. But you're actually right. Your salon was not worthy of that benefit at all. Thank you for demonstrating that. And Carlos, a little FYI, The reason why your salon received the poor rating is indicative to the same reasons why you're a TWO POINT FIVE STAR SALON. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. 50 people cannot be wrong! Do you think I'm upset, by being asked to leave? No. Not in the least. You don't have that power sweetheart! But asking me to not return is not going to fix the problem. Because your customer service skills will remain the same. And slowly people will really look and pay attention to all the Yelp reviews. Experience it for themselves (God forbid) and you'll eventually go out of business. People want to be respected, appreciated and thanked for patronizing businesses. Not mistreated for discussing a wrong that was done by YOUR STAFF. That's abuse. Thinking that you got it like that. Well you don't. One day, you'll have the hard dose of reality that you need. Keep in mind that you're not the only salon in south orange. You're just the only one with poor reviews. Oh and by the way, tell the lady from today thank you. Because I actually found the salon I was supposed to go to initially. And they're reviews are FIVE STAR on yelp! Have a great weekend! Updated Review May 27, 2015 I had got white acrylic tips from this salon the first time I visited on May 4, 2015. Had on filling 2 weeks after (same day my eyebrows were taken off). So now today I have nail fungus. On two nails. Left index finger. Right thumb.

    You know that saying three strikes and your out, well that isn't the case here! This is my third visit and I can honestly say I love this place. I always get a regular pedicure and my nails wrapped, ilast me for a whole month and this is without Gel. The nail technicians are kind, understanding, and patient. My first experience wasn't the best, but I've learned not to penalize a location because of one persons actions, just ask for someone else, because we all have our days. The ambience is relaxing, so it definitely passed on the Spa feeling besides all the great Spa treatments that are available. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. The place does get busy, booking an appointment would be the best option if your on a schedule. I hope this is helpful.

Having spent years blow drying my hair straight, or sort of straight, I wanted to go back to my natural wavy/curly hair and correct my color. My natural color is medium brown but now is about half gray. For years, I'd colored it a dark auburn, but recently it had become unattractive, sort of harsh looking. Plus the salon I was using while friendly and reasonably priced had little experience in reviving curly hair. I have only had cut, color and highlights with Kosia, the owner. As a new client, we had a consultation. She examined my hair and carefully listened to what I wanted. We reviewed a book of hair color samples; I picked out a color. To set expectations, Kosia told me to take at least two coloring sessions before my hair would match the color I'd selected. She was right. Yes, my hair, when cut properly is curly. We both ended up experimenting with various products to find one that worked consistently well with my hair. Since waiting for color to set in is inherently boring, I spend a lot of time either reading or looking at the other hairdressers and their clients. I've rarely seen anything that doesn't look really good. I've also had my hair highlighted, and unlike prior experiences, the highlights blended very well with my hair so I only need to do this every other appointment. Prices are moderate for a high end salon in Essex County NJ. For example, my Rezo cut is between $100 to $200 at comparable NJ places and far higher in NYC. (Trust me, I checked). I pay $110 with the owner. To be honest, I was used to paying a lot less, but my hair did not look nearly as good. Every place else that provided similar services is roughly the same price or more. My hair looks great! The color is just what I wanted and I now have wavy curly hair. Really cannot recommend highly enough.

My stylist was Maggie and she is absolutely amazing! She was very communicative and was able to help me achieve just what I wanted. She explained every step of the process to me and taught me so much about how to care for my hair. I left the salon with bouncy shiny curls and instructions on how to recreate them at home and couldn't be happier. Such a great experience. Thank you Maggie!

And instead of going behind reception to the salon rooms, we were sent back out the door to the salon, up a few flights of stairs inside an old apartment building. When we got to the piles of black garbage bags stacked in the hallway, the door to the spray room was to the right. There's a tiny, shabby waiting room, if you can call it that, and a janky storage room/janitor closet. Plus, the woman getting sprayed had left her stuff all over the one chair, open handbag and everything. The tan itself didn't really look like much, except on my face, which was really dark. But everywhere else you couldn't really notice it. So, nope. Would not recommend. PS: If this review convinces you to go here, be prepared to get totally nay-nay except for disposable paper undies.

Two weeks ago, I had my lips dissolved with my preferred specialist, Monica, and booked a refill appointment for October 4 at 12pm with Kelly (since Monica was out of office). I started my commute from NYC to the Verona location, but found it odd I never received a reminder -- so I called, only to learn that my appointment was never actually booked, despite scheduling it over the phone 2.5 weeks ago. They managed to squeeze me in later in the day with Megan. However, when I arrived just five minutes past their 10-minute grace period (after calling ahead to let them know I'd be slightly late), I was told I had missed my appointment and the most she could offer was a conversation -- not the actual service. I found this incredibly disappointing and frustrating, especially given the effort it takes to travel from NYC without a car, and the fact that I've been a loyal client for years. It's unfortunate to end things on this note, but I can no longer recommend Montclair Rejuvenation Center after today's experience.
