I would give First Class Delivery 20 stars if I could. I was scheduled to move the bulk of my possessions from my storage unit into my new home on Saturday and my first mover canceled. I was desperately looking for a new mover to help me within the next day. Roy, the owner of First Class Delivery, came to my rescue through Thumtack. He was so helpful and reassured me that I would be moving by the next morning with no problems. I was not disappointed. Will, Jon, and Nefti arrived the next morning with a huge truck and a smile. They handled my boxes and furniture with the utmost care and worked quickly and efficiently. They were also very careful upon arriving in my new home not to damage my walls or carpet. They quickly reassembled my furniture and placed all the heavy boxes exactly where I requested. I was amazed at the service and all three men were so cheery while doing the back breaking work. It doesn't get any better than First Class Delivery and Roy, Will, Jon, and Nefti! I am forever thankful for their help and highly recommend this mover! They are awesome! read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. This experience was the single most horrific experience I've ever had with a company. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer and had so much of my time, energy and money wasted. The first week of January, I spoke with the owner - Roy about our move from Brooklyn to Buffalo. At this point, he was very friendly and told me his company was very experienced moving to and from NYC, and he could do it for under $2,000. I told him to have the quote sent over and I would speak to my husband. When we received the email, it said the price could vary depending on traffic, construction, etc. At this point, they couldn't give me a more concrete number so I looked elsewhere and found a different company. Roy called back the next day and I told him I was about to book with this other company, because I was afraid his would end up being too far above the quote due to all the things they stated that could change the price. He reassured me that the secretary had it wrong, he would guarantee between $1500-$1800 max. He was so accommodating and said he would take care of us, and he even offered to have his guys leave at 3am instead of their regular 5am because we are traveling with our 8 month old baby - he ensured that this would put the drivers in Buffalo by 7-8 pm instead of 10-11pm. I have an email with the updated final quote. Two days before the move, I received a confirmation email stating the movers would arrive between 10&11am. The day of the move, around 11:30, I texted Roy to get an eta. He said the drivers were 2.5 hours out (no "I'm sorry they're running behind" - nothing. Had no emotion towards it and took no responsibility.) He had no recollection of the conversation we had about leaving at 3 am. In fact, his guys told him they left at 5, when in actuality (the driver told me), they left at 7:30. He told me would try to take care of us and give us a discount. He knew nothing about what was going on so after that I just communicated with the driver. They ended up showing up at 5 PM (YES 5-6 Hours LATE). They had issues getting onto a bridge large enough for their truck (something that is a standard rule, could be figured out by a google search ahead of time, AND you would know if you were familiar with moves to and from the city). The guys packed our stuff up and ended up leaving the city around 8pm, with us shortly behind with our baby. At this point I was fed up, knowing we had to drive through the middle of the night with a baby in snow. RIDICULOUS. Roy had no empathy whatsoever, saw no problem with unloading a moving truck at 4am, and refused to do it the next day without charging us another day. So off we went to Buffalo in the middle of the night. We got a confirmation text from the driver saying they would be there by 5am. (So we were Hanging out with a house in no furniture from about 3:30-5am waiting for them at this point.) 5:30 comes and all the sudden the driver stops answering. I fell asleep and had a missed call from Roy at 4:47am staying it was too late and his guys were going home to sleep. They would deliver between 7 & 8 am. Mind you we are sleeping on floors with no furniture WAITING. Again, he sees no problem with this - completely normal - and took responsibility for NOTHING. Long story short, they ended up arriving and unloading at 12:30 that afternoon. After we received our belongings, my husband and i both had conversations with Roy. This is where he got even more nasty - took responsibility for NOTHING, continued talking over us and trying to justify everything that happened, and had the NERVE to charge us MORE than the quote he gave us!! He tried charging us $2200 then "giving us a 10% discount". He said that original number was just an estimate (after he REASSURED ME & GOT THE SALE from the $1800' max price) . WHAT A JOKE. He talked over us the whole time, made excuses for everything, and even told us that "he knew we would be a problem"!!!) WHAT?! because I called you when your guys were 2.5 hours late?? We ended up laying $1950 - still ridiculous considering the "promised quote" and all the problems we dealt with. We paid it because we didn't want to waste any more time, energy or resources hiring a lawyer, but I made sure that I would tell EVERYONE about this HORRIFYING experience. I will say that the actual movers were great I said: ROY - All the extra time it took was due to YOUR poor business practices and lack of effective systems. YOUR guys leaving 4 hours late, causing them to get to the city at rush hour, YOUR guys not knowing which bridges were accommodating to large trucks - something that could have been avoided by a google search (and something you'd know if you were as familiar with NYC moves as you said). All in all - YOU are the owner who chose to treat your customers like crap and lie to them to get a sale. YOU are the owner who chose not to make them happy and walk away pissed over something you could have resolved. read more

This company was very easy to work with, in terms of scheduling, making changes, and payment. Prices were fair. The guys we had were very nice, and personable. They worked hard, and took few breaks. That being said, the breaks they did take were to smoke. Some of our furniture had a residual smoke smell after they left. They did break a tote, not big deal. But they didn't wrap or cover some of the furniture, leaving them dirty and wet. I would use them again (but hoping we don't have to move again!), except I would probably monitor the move a little more. read more

I used First Class Delivery today to move some heavy furniture from my old residence in Amherst to a new place in North Buffalo. They showed up on time, and got the job done in under two hours. Prompt, efficient, and friendly service. More than reasonable price for the service provided. They even helped us move a couch that was in the new house I was moving into to a different location. read more

I'll start by saying this review is not really based on the actual move which went pretty well it is just the administrative side of the business that was frustrating. I had scheduled a move for a Sunday which happened to be Father's day. The company was busy on the Saturday i wanted and offered Sunday. I confirmed the night before all was set. The owner called me at 10:30 am on Sunday when they were supposed to arrive between 10-11 to tell me they had to cancel that he couldn't find anyone to work. Ok i understand things happen. We rescheduled for the next day. The move took 4 hours. When it came time to pay the owner told me it was $130 an hour plus a truck rental fee which was a total of $560. When i had booked it originally he quoted me at $99/hour with truck included which would have made it $400. I told all my friends what a great price! But then when it came time to pay he upped the price and said that was a promotion that had run out. But i had booked it in advance how does it run out? I then asked if i could have a discount since he cancelled on the original day forcing me to take a Monday off to move, he said sorry i already ran your card. Typical bait and switch, lost my business, too bad the movers were very good. Just typical game by greedy owners. Lesson learned i should have had him send me something in writing, trust no one! read more

I called over ten times they did not answer to any calls, voicemails or text messages. This put me in a bind since it was evening. Roy, Ken and his crew are incredible! They just did a move for us in the dead of winter from a second story apartment, to a third story apartment! The guys were done in three hours and treated all of our property with care like it was their own. Roy even offered my mother a senior's discount, which helped significantly with the price. I will absolutely use them in the future for any type of move we do!! We didn't have the guys pack our boxes, but they offer to do that as well! They deserve five stars all the way. Yikes. I'm not sure why we hadn't read through these horrible company reviews prior to booking with Roy but my husband and I had a VERY similar horrible experience. I will try to keep this brief but to start, he had a worker cause a scene and start cursing at him during the first hour of work on the job. The employee ended up quitting on the spot and they were a man down until Roy could find a replacement. As a business owner, if this happened on the job and in the presence of my client, I would be mortified and apologetic. By the end of our experience, it's obvious Roy is incapable of those two feelings. Nearly every piece of furniture; couches, dressers.. were significantly scratched. When mentioned to Roy, he very awkwardly shrugged them off. He had no accountability whatsoever. His employees completely demolished a 1yr old stand alone kitchen island and instead of even apologizing, Roy blamed us for having assembled it poorly. Seriously?? He tacked on a BS $60 truck fee that we had not been quoted for and was obviously not open to correcting or reimbursing for the significant damage done. I'd love a partial refund but I assume that will not happen easily. I am totally open to small claims court or chatting the BBB about this experience. Go elsewhere! read more

I hire this company to help me move some of my furniture last month. They are basically thefts. Roy J SCAMMED me. Roy gave me a quote in advance and after he moved my furniture he changed the price. In addition, the movers didn't do a good job at all, they even got my carpet dirty while moving. DON'T use this company. This is my advice. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Absolutely terrible experience. Roy brought only one actual worker - who is a subcontractor (1099 employee not a W2 employee). His other employees are day-laborers, paid cash (which means you don't know who they are and he can claim ignorance - as if they don't even exist). I witnessed this - in front of my house - first hand (cash payments). One of Roy's guys broke the front of a Maytag Maxima XL Commerical stainless steel washing machine. The knob goes into the main computer board in the machine. Now, no one can get the part to repair it, and Roy has said that he will not honor his insurance. He told me that I am not allowed to make a claim because he is "not paying for it". Also chipped the finish on quite a bit of my furniture, damaged two Polk M30 studio speakers, cracked a 50 year old authentic Mexican vase, and broke an entire box of fine china. He has not re-imbursed any of this, and will not give me his insurance company's name -- I wonder if he even has insurance. BUYER BEWARE! (( moved from South Buffalo to Orchard Park - 2019 )) XXX update October 21, 2019 -- Roy states that he is not going to "help" me. He asked that I take down my feedback / review on Yelp and Thumbtack. He insisted that if I did, he would reimburse for the cost a replacement machine, but only if I did - as if to hold me hostage. That's not the way people should be treated - as hostages. The right thing to do is not to cave into a bully. I'm now at 4 weeks with a broken washing machine. And I'm waiting for Roy's insurance information. Be sure to demand a copy of his (Federally Required) Released Value Insurance Policy and his (also Federally Required) Full Value Insurance Policy. Roy changed me $7,000 for this move - but he damaged easily that much money worth of property! I want a refund! read more

They came out next day, showed up on time, packed some of our things, were really careful with our things and the apartment properties, and they were really great and pleasant people. From the calling around I did before I selected Roy for this job, I know I was charged the market rate for this job (Though it ended up being at the high end of the range he originally quoted me.) I picked First Class Delivery because it was well reviewed and I felt Roy was a direct and honest guy from speaking with him on the phone. Mine was a small but very annoying job: moving a cast-iron bathtub down three flights of stairs, transporting it across town and moving it into my house. As others have noted, the team arrived on time (to the minute!) and were no-nonsense but friendly. Roy took care to make sure that no ill would befall the brand new (off-white!) carpeting at the house from which the tub was moved. While being unusually respectful of our homes (not knocking a wall or scraping wainscotting) he was also extremely safety conscious and expressed concern for the guys he brought with him. And they were done in an hour! read more

Please read before booking with First Class Deliveries - I'm writing not about the service provided but the poor business practices provided by Roy. I found his company by googling "local movers near me". Roy was responsive to my inquiry and recommended, for the size of our move, that we have four guys at $200 per hour, for a minimum of four hours. He cut me a deal with moving my piano and let me know of the additional fee for wrapping furniture. On the morning of the move, he and his crew got right to work. Immediately he gave me a new (higher) price for the piano, not the price previously agreed upon. We had a platform bed that needed to be dissembled and he let me know there would be a fee for that (even though his website said this service was included). His workers were fast and efficient and the work was completed in just under four hours. When it came time to pay the bill, Roy slapped on a $400 travel fee and an additional half our of moving time! I had been waiting over an hour for them to arrive after getting lost so I knew damn well what time they pulled in. He informed me that there are always travels fees, however what he wasn't forthcoming about was that he agreed to take my "local" move even though he was far from local! He traveled all the way from Buffalo to Syracuse without even mentioning when we booked that (a) that travel fees were not included and what those fees would be and (b) that they were coming from Buffalo!! When I let him know that I didn't think it was fair to be charged almost double the original estimate (which of course isn't in writing) he played it off as I should have known and that he had workers to pay. As a business owner, yes, you have to pay your help - but that's not my problem that you took a job that would cost more money than others to pay your employees! For anyone looking to hire Roy, think twice, because I guarantee not only will you be paying for things you were unaware of, but you'll get a "sorry, not sorry" attitude at the end. He advised me next time to "do my research". Even after expressing my concerns Roy wasn't willing to provide me with any resolution- not even the 10% new customer discount that he advertised online. Nothing. I guess I should expect nothing less than a company that has been give an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. I'm sure I'm not the only customer this has happened to and won't be the last. So my advise to his potential future costumers is the advice he gave me - do your research before hiring First Class Deliveries. read more

First thing, I had planned to move in about 6 months from now. Things changed. 1st quote I received was from Roy. He would be "honored to hep me with my move. I was honored he was honored due to the specifics. I called on Friday and wanted things moved Saturday, on the Memorial Day wknd. And I'll be damned if Will, Nefty and Lou didn't show up, dog tired and looking like a big moving dreamboat coming down the drive. These guys were the trifecta in so many ways. I was panicked, it was 90 out with 90% humidity. And they handled me with such a grace and gentlemanly way that I will actually never forget them. Everything I wanted was moved, nothing had to be disassembled to get down a flight of stairs that give me heart palpitations. Very large heavy pieces! Did I mention the derelict side by side fridge that was on the landing they had to work from at the top of said stairs? These guys were that good!! Hire them and tell them i said Hi. :) read more
