Best kept secret of Terre Haute, on the corner of 19th & Hulman…read more I went to them after being dissatisfied & overcharged by the local ASE Certified, larger car shops. Have been taking my car to Wilguess for years & they are the best and most reasonable place in the whole city (to my knowledge). They do engine maintenance, drum & rotor work, and pretty much any general car issue. They do NOT do the following; body work, glass replacement, electrical/wiring issues, wheel alignments. Wilguess is a mom&pop local store, they are ONLY open 8-5 M-F (they close promptly at 5pm). You must call and make an appointment, or else just drop off your car & they will get to it in 2-3days time. They are soo reasonable on price. As standard they will use NEW parts, but if you request they will buy USED to save you some extra cash. Used parts like headlights & stuff. Very knowledgeable mechanics, no BS with you. Might be quiet or gruff at first, BUT ask them questions & they go out of their way to help answer it. I ALWAYS ask where they would take their car for some service & am always happy with their recommendations. In a nutshell, give Wilguess a chance. They are 100% local & you will be totally satisfied with your experience. PS: No shuttle service.

We haven't gone to another mechanic since we found Wilguess! Always reasonable priced. Doesn't try to do unnecessary jobs to make more money. No upselling here. I have several family members who now use Wilguess because of us. It's a no frills shop but who needs that! I have never in my whole life trusted a mechanic until I went to Wilguess. Now I have peace of mind when we take our vehicles in that the job will be done right and reasonably priced. priceless!

    Northside Tire Service Center

BEWARE! Busted my hubcaps from negligence and didn't tell me, then blamed it on the cold weather…read moreand cheap build quality. A lot of excuses will be made if service is sub par. Wife went to get two tires on the front of her van, she got them, then left without any problems. But, I noticed a strange sound coming from the front tire days later when I drove it and when I looked I noticed that both of the hubcaps had be broken in front. I immediately thought it was Northside because, of course, it was the front tires but also they weren't even properly put back on either; one of which was barely hanging on. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, called them and told them about the noise and the caps. The nice girl I talked to (who wasn't there on my second visit) said I could bring it in anytime. Today I went to talk to them and I could immediately see they knew who I was. When I asked about the hubcaps one person started to rant about how cheap they were and the cold weather made them brittle and that there was absolutely nothing that could have been done to prevent it. Any hubcap can be taken off and put back on if done properly. I guarantee the mechanic put a tool between the tire and the cap and just pulled as hard as he could. Yes the cold weather made them more brittle, but wouldn't a tire mechanic know that? And maybe be more careful? Or maybe even ask the owner about the potential damage that could occur? Not Northside. My wife picked it up and nobody told her. All I wanted was a replacement of the hubcaps they broke, but after listening to that person's obvious pre-thought out rant it was not worth the 10 dollars I paid for them. I'm lucky now, but what would happen if it was an expensive part they would break? I consider myself lucky I found out what kind of shop this is. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a more honest shop.
