I've passed by this restaurant so many times this year never realizing that it was open. Leaving Costco one more time wishing for something healthy along my way home I stopped at First Bite. I was not disappointed. I'm a vegetarian. This stop was a relief. The owner and chef has transferred his family business from San Francisco to Marysville and surprisingly left Italian restaurants to a more traditional Mediterranean eatery. There is something for meat eaters of course but my focus on plant based foods was well satisfied. I started with a bowl of their red lentil soup. No cumin , no tomato paste no chile powder just a lovely rich yellow blended soup with a bit of whole lentils for texture and vinegar that seems to add a freshness to the mix. The soup is topped with the chefs home pressed olive oil a rich hot sauce he assembles with multiple peppers for intensity, and finely chopped parsley with a lemon wedge to lighten the dish. It is stunning. The hummus was lovely. Light and creamy again topped with their own home pressed olive oil a bit of their own hot sauce and chopped basil. ThTabouli light and delicious with a hint of lemon. I could have eaten only that. His Falafel light and flavorful but their own delicious homemade tahini sauce is the best I've ever had. I understand people often order take out from First Bite. Sounds like a convenient stop if you are returning from a trip or the airport. They are open late which makes it a super convenient stop. We really need to support our local eateries. Put First Bite on your list of new cultures to explore this year. Sure they have traditional foods and their catering business serves many kinds of dishes but having a great Mediterranean restaurant near by is great gift. It's not a luxury dining experience. But it's honest and good food made with care and love. You will not be disappointed. read more

Today being Thanksgiving 2025 we were lucky to find this amazing family owned restaurant open and ready to serve us top quality food. We were welcomed warmly by the owner. The food was cooked fresh and to perfection. I will definitely be returning here on a regular basis. I can't wait to return and try some of the other foods on the menu. We had the fresh squeezed lemonade, the Lamb Kabob plate and the Cesar salad with chicken. Even got some freshly made hummus to go to enjoy later. I encourage everyone to try them out. It was all delicious, and well be coming back regularly for the delicious Lentil soup, falafel wraps and everything that comes on the Mediterranean platter. The food is to die for and the owner is phenomenal! I didn't know the place was closed already and he insisted for me to come in and happily made our order. The chicken shawarma and fries were delectable! The chicken was marinated to perfection and the sauces with the pickles made it mouth watering. If you like spice make sure and ask for it with the hot sauce. 10 out of 10! We also had the Mediterranean plate with falafel, hummus, cucumber salad, tabbouleh, baba ganoush and pita. Unreal!!!! Let's start with the food. The falafel wrap was AMAZING. The falafel itself was perfectly made, generously portioned, & delicious and so was the wrap it came in, but the sauces were out-of-this-world good and really made everything amazing. The kind man preparing the food asked if we liked it spicy. We do. The wrap came with a perfect sauce that was just the right level of heat. The french fries were crispy and delicious. The chopped vegetables in the wrap were crispy and a perfect offset to the rest. The food is prepared with care and intention. I'm going to dream about this falafel and lucky me, I have the second half for dinner tonight. Next, the man running the place. What a genuinely wonderful person. I've been going past this resturaunt and wanting to try it. Ordered lamb shawarma plate and a chicken kebob plate. Was offered some sauces a spicy but mild hot sauce and a white tasty, I think yogurt sauce. Food was delicious, It's fun to try different foods/cuisines at reasonable prices. Young man taking order was polite and courteous. Outdoor seating looks good too, easy to stop by and have lunch there when going for a bike or scooter ride.
