My heartfelt thanks to Alex and Anthony. I deeply appreciated their kindness & willingness to work overtime during my recent emergency. I never expected them to come that same evening. I was hoping for the next day. A couple of days after Storm Benjamin, late afternoon my gas fireplace stopped working. I was physically unable to lift the screen off the fireplace to get to the pilot light, which I thought was the problem. Alex graciously offered to stop by and help me get the fireplace going. Unfortunately, it wasn't just the pilot light. She called Anthony, Fireworks' technician. As tired as he most likely was at the end of the day, he volunteered to come over & help. We had purchased a wood stove to replace the one we had used for 30 years. Anthony and Leo showed up for the install and they were great. They were efficient, professional, and courteous. We had two other companies come prior for estimates and they spent most of the time boosting the original install to between 3k and 5k.... Fireworks stayed within the original estimate which was about one-third the cost of the others. These guys were great...honest... took the time to explain everything.... After reaching out 4 times for stove pipe installation I never got a call back after they measured the job. Honestly they didn't seem at all interested in my business. Even when I approached them on questions I had after installing my own stove pipe ( which I did out of necessity) I was never able to get a call back after trying 3 times. When I went in person I was treated like an annoyance. Not sure if it's because of my liberal appearance and there support for trump? But that's the feeling I got? I always try and support local but be warned they aren't the best people to go to for stove related products. read more

This guys nickname in town is "firecrooks". I paid him upfront to install the pipe down my chimney (so I wouldn't need to get on my 35ft roof) and set my brand new wood stove in my fireplace and connect the 6" flue. He pulls in with a crew of yahoo kids, they are up On the roof and sliding the pipe down the chimney. He comes in the house and tells me" the stove is no good" ,he has a used one that I can buy for $1300 bucks. It won't fit, the wrong color on and on. Now I know it fits, because it's sitting in the fireplace now with plenty of room and I know my dimensions and measurements. He kept on with his rant as I held my breathe and temper. I paid him in full and he never did finish the job. I grabbed my friend & he completed the job in 15 minutes. The stove fit perfectly. Thanks firecrooks! read more

This is a family run business with exceptional customer service, knowledge and great product. I just had my second had fire place installed by fireworks and couldn't be happier! To be honest I didn't want one at first. We had Larry install one in our basement that we used as a source of heat which saved us when we had the October snow storm a few years back. We were able to get the basement to 85 deg and the main level to 65. It was a godsend not having power for 3 days. On our main level we had a masonry fireplace and I always wanted to burn real wood but the smell would linger for days and my husband would complain. Because of the clean up and listening to my hubby gripe I broke down and put one upstairs. NO REGRETS!! I will eat my words I LOVE IT!! Should of done it sooner. Understandably, these guys are very busy during the winter season and when our pellet stove was on the fritz, it was hard getting a call back. Once I spoke with Larry, he did what he could to come out at soon as possible, which was intially over two weeks away and I appreciated his efforts to rearrange some things so he could come earlier, which was a week later. The guys who came out were wonderful, on time, got right to work and left everything spotless. Unfortunately, we had to leave before they were finished so when we got back and tried to turn the stove on, it still didn't work.. I called and left my number with Lorie, the person who is why I am giving such a bad review for this company. She said someone would call me back. They never did. Tried again 2 days later and spoke with Chris who was great and tried to help me with it over the phone and said it would just take awhile to heat up. An hour later, still not working. I called back and got Lorie, who said they were out on a service call. I asked if I could possibly get a cell phone number for one of them to help me troubleshoot over the phone instead of having to wait all day for someone to return my call, knowing that in my prior experience they're not the best at returning calls during their busy season. She said she would NEVER give out such personal information, and acted like I was asking for private financial information or social security numbers! Apparently she is unaware of how to go above and beyond for a customer in need, or that it is common for a customer to have a service person's cell number who had serviced them in the past. Oh the horror!! She curtly told me they would call me when they returned. I started to get frustrated at this point and asked since she had their cell phone numbers if she could do me the favor of getting in touch with them on the road and have them call me. Our home was cold and I have a baby. She said it was my fault for having the pellet stove being our main source of heat and she wouldn't tolerate being talked to in that way. She then said they didn't need my business and I could go somewhere else for my needs. Is this woman serious? I will admit, I have not bought a stove or had service from this company...yet. But, so far, in my dealings with Larry, they are top notch. I called him last winter because I was having issues with my stove (bought from another dealer) and told him I was curious about his prices as I thought I might have to replace it. Instead of trying to sell me a product he walked me through all the things that could be wrong and advised me how to fix things...on a stove I didn't buy from him. His suggestions worked and I got another season out of the stove. Fast forward another year and now we are back in the same boat, only this time it's a more costly and technical fix than I can do on my own. I went in to his store on Monday and asked to look at new stoves and again, he steered me away from buying! He offered suggestions on what could be wrong and even offered to fix the stove (the company I bought the stove from told me it couldn't be fixed and I had to buy new). Larry offered a suggestion to keep the stove running for the rest of the season in order to allow us time to make a decision on if we are going to fix it or replace it. But I can tell you this, I will be back regardless of if I'm fixing or purchasing. He went out of his way twice to save me money and help me. We are enjoying our 3rd season heating with the Avalon flush insert. We went with Fireworks Hearth and Home because of their good reputation as apposed to the poor reviews of closer companies. We know we made the right decision going with this company as both fans had manufacture defects and were replaced upon request. We have since truly enjoyed this insert.
