I was a big fan and advocate of this spa for more than a year. Similar to other customers, I always prepaid for and prebooked my massages. Then, it all went bad. I showed up for the appointment I had prebooked with the specific massage therapist I always scheduled with. They had changed the therapist on me without telling me. I showed them my email confirmation, which showed the therapist I booked with, and asked to reschedule. The people at the spa at the time said ok. I left, and then they called me to say the owner insisted on charging me as a no-show. I then had an unpleasant call with the owner. I will not be going back. I agree with others who have said don't ever prepay for anything if you go there. read more

Not worth it for the price! My fiancee and I went in today and were expecting amazing service. First of all it was not 60 minutes of service. The appointment was for 3:30pm they let us into the room at around 3:40 and service started at 3:45. They only did the so called "facial" for about 40 minutes. Then they expected us to pay a 40% tip after already paying fees and things on top. Will not be going back. read more

My wife and I have been loyal clients for 2+ years...up until today. We ALWAYS prepay for our next appointment, as the owner agreed to continue to honor our couples massage Groupon rate that way. For days prior to our appointments, we always receive numerous texts from the spa asking to confirm our appointment. However, when you click on the link in the text, it asks you to enter credit card info for payment of your appointment. Since we always prepay, we brought this to the attention of the owner previously, who said to ignore those since we prepay. Well...as usual...prior to our appointment today, we received no less than SEVEN text messages asking to confirm and pay, and as always, we ignored them since we already paid. Then, at 1230pm today, we received a text saying that our appointment is canceled. My wife immediately called and spoke with the owner who was incredibly abrasive and unprofessional. The owner explained that the appointment had been canceled because we did not confirm and pay. My wife explained that we had ALREADY paid for today's appointment, at the time of our last appointment two months ago. The owner could not seem to grasp her own prepayment policy, the one that SHE had asked us to use, beginning more than two years ago. After some back and forth with her, the owner agreed to refund our prepayment (ohhhhh...so we DID actually already pay for today's appointment, or otherwise, why would you refund us????), canceled our appointment, and abruptly hung up on my wife. So...my advice to you is....avoid Firewood Spa at all costs. Especially DO NOT EVER PREPAY for services, because you will likely get canceled and/or stiffed. With the owner's shady business practices and lack of professionalism, she'll likely be going out of business soon anyway, so just don't bother. I have no doubt the owner will retaliate by slamming us in return. However, as you can see by the other comments here and other places on the web, we're not the only ones who have received this type of treatment. We were good clients...always PREPAID, arrived early for ALL our appointments, and gave well-deserved CASH gratuities to the massage therapists at the conclusion of EVERY appointment. Somehow...she'll make us out to be lousy clients, and her business will be better off without us...just watch. The sad part is... The owner was actually good at hiring a great massage therapist staff, and we will miss our appointments with them, since we have gotten to know them well over the past 2+ years. I'm hopeful that we'll be able to locate them at another spa in the future once Firewood goes under. read more

I've been here for three facials and two massages, but will never return. I paid for a product over a month ago that they usually keep in stock but were out of stock and promised it within a week for pick up. I've since obtained from elsewhere because they have not delivered on this promise. They are now refusing to refund my money and claiming they don't have to refund me because they don't have their product from their supplier and therefore get to keep my money. 1/23/24 I had a very disappointing experience. The receptionist was short, cutting me off and rude. I bought a 60 minute massage and was told the fine print only allows for 50 minutes. I did not get my lower back and feet massage after telling the technician what areas I wished to focus on. I did not know the massage was over, the technician left the room without saying anything. We recently purchased a Groupon coupon for a couples massage. My wife called and booked an appointment for August 16, 2024. After the massage, we were told we needed to pay a higher amount and that the Groupon coupon would not be accepted. They said that we did not tell them it was a Groupon purchase at the time of booking. We ended up speaking with the owner, who was highly defensive and rude from the onset. She said we had to pay the higher charge and would have to seek a credit from Groupon. We did not agree to this charge, since we had already paid $145.00 through Groupon. The next day we discovered that this company had not only charged $194.00 to our credit card used to hold the reservation, they also redeemed the Groupon payment. Highly unethical company and extremely rude and unprofessional owner. Buyer beware. read more

As this was my first massage, my boyfriend booked us a couples massage so I would feel more comfortable. This sadly wouldn't be my biggest issue... we understood the silly "pay for 60 minutes but you're only getting a 50 minute hands on" fine print (easy way to START ripping you off), but our massages were VERY different. I opted for the $20 face mask, why not? Well that was a mistake because that took 20 minutes from my time, she massaged the top of my head longer than any other part of my body because of that damn mask. Then my shoulders were barely touched, more just rubbed oil in, like suntan lotion. My legs were NOT touched above my knees the entire session & when I flipped, my back was the same lotion rub in... I actually feel MORE stressed & uncomfortable after this ordeal. And no, I'm not RUDE & will NOT bash you & complain at your counter after all of this very disappointing first massage. We were polite, tipped & left. HOWERVER, after sending their unhappy face review with a short description of why, they basically bashed us & made us feel stupid for going there... well... your poor customer service & ignorance speaks volumes, you won't be around too long after more of the recent poor reviews start coming in. I had a great experience at Firewood Spa. The owner was such a sweetheart and professional. All staff members are talented in the services they provide. I received a 30 minute massage and the massage therapist was kind and informative on how much pressure she was giving. I would highly recommend this spa to everyone. Terrible rescheduling appt with the firewood spa in Brecksville. I bought a Groupon back in February and I booked the appointment. they message me at 4 PM about my appointment I called them at 4:21 to tell them that I couldn't make it and I could bring the doctors note in that I had went to the the dermatologist on Tuesday for hot tub folliculitis and contact dermatitis. The lady told me if I canceled I'd be charged 30% fee and I said I'm canceling within the 24 hour notice like it says on the Groupon and shetold me that I didn't know how to do math because I was past the 24 hour notice by 21 minutes and then I would be charged 30% for canceling and I told her I didn't want to cancel. I just wanted to reschedule and I could bring the doctors note in and she didn't want to hear it. She didn't want to give the phone to her supervisor. She was completely rude and hung up on me. So I called back and I told her I wasn't trying to argue with her. She went on to yell me on the phone so then I yelled back at her because she was being very rude to me. I told her this is not how you treat people on the phone. I've worked in a spa before and this is ridiculous customer service, and she hung up on me again. So the third time I called she went to tell me that she canceled and she emailed Groupon saying that everything was canceled even though there would've been no time for her to actually email them because she literally just hung up on me. I never wanted to cancel I just wanted to reschedule Also if you look on Google reviews, there's a bunch of people complain about the front desk girl so it's not just me. read more

I had an appointment today with my regular therapist, who I like. I got caught behind a parade and wasn't able to make the appointment. When I called and explained that I don't live in the area and had no way of knowing there was a parade, I was told that I'd be charged anyways. I got an email stating that I was a no show shortly after the call and have a $50 charge on my credit card for a service that was never performed. Today I went to book massages for Emily and I as "FIREWOOD SPA" in Brecksville. The lady that answers the phone is incredibly rude. I had to call twice for not getting the text messages and all3 calls she was not a friendly person. I then messaged Facebook to tell them about their receptionist. My appointments got canceled and when I called, found out that the person that answers the phone is THE OWNER. She canceled my appointment said I am not a good fit for their spa. I when I called the second time even asked if she was having a bad day cause she seemed irritated. And anyone that has ever heard me speak to a business. I am friendly. Massage therapists were very nice and the massage was the perfect balance between relaxation and treating very sore muscles.

My partner and I scheduled a couples massage there through Groupon. We arrived a few minutes early for our massage time and we were not brought back to the massage room until at least 15 minutes after our appt time started. We were left to change and our massage began about 20-25 minutes after our scheduled time. Once our massages began, we had a good experience with the massage itself, but the one masseuse who was massaging my partner was sneezing and coughing the entire time. My partner ended up sick a few days later and had to miss 3 days of work. Keeping in mind that when our massage was over and we left the beds to get changed, it was 10 minutes before our hour was due to be up- which means our massage was about half the time it was supposed to be and my partner got sick. I called the spa to discuss this with the owner and she was rude and unprofessional. She tried to tell me that it was "allergies" and that after missing 3 days following our appt the masseuse got a doctors note to endorse that it was allergies. read more
