As a young woman, I personally find it incredibly hard to find a mechanic/auto shop that will: 1. Not talk to me like I'm a moron. 2. Not try to rip me off. 3. Be fair with their prices and honest with their work. I've never had a bad experience at any Firestone, but these guys in particular are really just outstanding and really deserving of praise. I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! I've been coming to this location for about 4 years now. They are always kind, explain everything and are happy to answer any questions you may have. They are always happy to make recommendations, but never, ever make you feel like you're being forced into making repairs. They are honest, work efficiently and have great attention to detail. These guys really make an effort to get to know their customers, too, which is also rare in my experience. I had an issue in early 2016 where my car broke down on the side of the New Jersey turnpike. I was 21, had never had an incident like this away from home, and was just with one of my good friends. We were two young girls stranded in (what felt like) the middle of nowhere. I had it towed to the nearest Firestone, and the guys were great there, but they were having a really difficult time (I mean, they told me I may need to get a tow from NJ back to RI) locating the part that I needed (it was a small bolt that had snapped off). In a panic, I called my local Firestone to ask them for advice. Chic and his team were literal lifesavers on this day. They were able to identify the part number, locate the closest place the guys in NJ could get said part, and were the true reason my car was able to be fixed/driven back to RI. They went above and beyond here and I'll never be able to thank them enough for that. More recently, I had to get four new tires (which I dreaded) around Labor Day, and Mike worked with me to find the right kind of tire for me/a set that was in my price range. He made the experience easy and seamless. I just got my brakes and inspection done yesterday at this location. They were incredibly fast, kept me updated, and called me as soon as it was done. It was a Saturday and they seemed very busy, but it only took a little over two hours - which is incredibly fast to me, because I normally have to wait 3 hours for an oil change at my dealership. Their prices are modest and they always offer great coupons/discounts. I tell everyone I know to go see Chic, Mike, and the rest of these guys. They always go above and beyond and are overall a fantastic team. read more

They took 55.00 from me, and said 1500.0 yo fix what was wrong with my car when nothing was wrong. I will never again in my entire life refer or go to Firestone anymore. Not only did they wait for me to get there past closing, Jeff was also very reassuring that they would get to the bottom of the problem. This location is a joke!!! Brought my car in for inspection and oil change. Car came back leaking oil. They refused to fix it. Car wasn't leaking anything till they touched it. Manager Craig was an absolute jerk to me. I actually called corporate headquarters. Case number and all. Never take your vehicle to Firestone! If I could give a negative star! One star hurts me to even select! Updated! Complained and was given a case number. The only thing they did was call and ask the manager if it was leaking. Big shock he said no. Yet the car was taken to another mechanic and in fact was leaking oil. Had to pay for this after have paid the original cost of oil change. Ryan at the front desk I believe he is a service advisor is completely rude and unprofessional. first of all, we had an appointment for a full inspection and for whatever reason we still had to leave our car overnight. From the minute, we walked in we had issues. Apparently, Ryan didn't Input our appointment in the correct way so that it could be billed to our warranty holder, which Firestone has a direct partnership with. This caused an issue when it came time to pick the car up. Aside from this the main issue was what I dropped my car off. All of my headlights were working completely fine. When I came to pick my car up, my headlight was completely broken. They tried to gaslight me and tell me that it was like that when I dropped it off which is a complete lie because I had bought the car two days ago and I know for sure the lights worked. On top of that they inspection report that they gave me even says that all of the properly. What happened is I asked for them to give me a quote for LED headlights simply as an upgrade because I wanted it brighter lights. i'm assuming at this point one of the incompetent mechanics broke my headlight in the process of determining what LEDs they could put in my car because it is a foreign vehicle, and then they put the headlight back in when it was broken and tried to act like nothing happened. when I demanded that they fixed the light bulb, that THEY BROKE the employees refused. When I asked for a manager, I was told that there is no manager that works at this location. I had to spend over 30 minutes on the phone with corporate filing a complaint to get in touch with the district manager. What an absolute nightmare from beginning to end, and it is still completely unresolved. Long story short I brought my car here for an inspection and a quote to upgrade all of my car lighting to LEDs and I left with a broken headlight due to negligence on behalf of Firestone's mechanics at the Post Road Warwick location. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody in fact while I was there they were two other people in the lobby that were complaining about similar issues. They dropped their car off for an inspection and picked it up and one person's car was leaking oil all of a sudden. What an absolute disaster of a company. For there to be no manager available to help someone is absurd I should never have had to contact corporate and wait around for days to hear back from someone. read more

Too bad zero Stars isn't an option. Brought my car here for the state inspection. Needed to get new brakes. No problem. Had them replace them. 5 months later. The brakes are still screeching set up an appointment for them to check my brakes. They say it will take an hour. Fantastic. Drop the car off before they open and use the key drop box. Call 2 and 1/2 hours past the scheduled time. They haven't even touched the car yet but try to lie and say it'll only be another hour and that they're short-staffed. Call an hour and a half after that. Car is going to be ready in a half hour. Show up a half hour after that car is still on the lift. Going to get the car and I'm told that they were confused by the car being here and that it didn't match the appointment exactly. But I put both of our names on it so they just never looked it up. I asked them if they had confusion about the keys that were in the Dropbox for a 9:00 a.m. appointment that it stated on the envelope why I didn't get a phone call. He had no answer for that. Will 1000% never be coming here again? I don't care if it's going to take you all day to fix my car. What I do care is that I got s*** quotes for time so many times during this experience learn to under promise and over deliver not over promise and not deliver at all. read more

Needed inspection, made apt 1 day prior. Turns out I needed brake pads and rotors. I guess they order the wrong pads and the care was sitting on the lift for literally 30 min with nothing being done to it. I asked the rep before doing the rotors and pads how long it would take for the extra work and they said not long at all because the tires were already off. Turns out I ended up waiting an extra hour due to them not getting the correct pads. Always on my day off. read more

I hope you have at least $500 to burn whenever you bring your car here. The prices are definitely made up. I've been here twice. Once a full front suspension replacement cost around $500. The second time I got a new wheel bearing. That also cost $500. The actual part was like $100 but then labor was like $400. To just replace a wheel bearing. Of course you get lowballed on the price when they initially call you to ask if you want the work done. I've been to other Firestone locations (granted those were in Massachusetts) and never got ripped off until here in Rhode Island. Maybe you just have to be from Rhode Island to get a good deal? The only positive is that it is on RIPTA's route 20 so you don't have to wait at the store while you get ripped off. read more

When the tech was done with my car, he parked it closer to the next car he was going to work on than me. I was waiting in the parking lot and instead of driving my vehicle to the front door, he parked it on the side of the building, got out, and started walking to the next car he was going to work on, paperwork and keys in hand. Apparently, he knew I was the owner and knew I would walk over to it. Seems to me, he should have driven my car and parked it just passed the front door, or in a parking spot near me. Then, he should have gotten out and gone in to let the desk person know he was finished with it. After this, he should have gotten the paperwork and keys for the next car he was going to work on. Apparently, he got the next cars paperwork and keys first, then hopped in my car, backed out of the garage, and pressed the key fob to locate the next car and then parked my car near that car to make his walk shorter. I know it sounds weird, but I think you should completely finish one job before starting the next, and not inconvenience the customer. Also, my appointment was at 10am , but my car wasn't taken into the garage until 10:22am. I won't be coming back. read more

I recently did some price comparisons on a hefty series of front-end repairs I needed on my 98' Honda Accord and found Firestone to be by far the greatest value for my dollar when it comes to mechanics. Jeff, one of the front of house sales people, was not only helpful and accommodating, but he found a way to make the repairs (which would have cost me over $1,000) something affordable for someone living on a students budget. Since the repairs were made at Firestone, my car has been rolling along quite smoothly, completely relieved off all symptoms it had been showing. Another reason I prefer a "branded" mechanic like Firestone to a smaller, private mechanic is that I feel there is a degree of reliability and reputation included with the cost of the work. My experience with Firestone has mostly been with their tire service. I needed new tires for my Honda and they were very helpful in finding an upgrade to the tires that originally came with the car. When you buy tires from Firestone it includes free rotation, which I take advantage of. This past week when I went in for the rotation the service was super speedy! The manager is usually working when I'm there and he seems to run a tight ship which makes me feel good as a customer. I also have observed he knows a lot of the customers by name and for a corporate place it has a neighborly feel. Upon taking my wheels off, they noticed my brake pads were almost worn out. Since I was also due for an oil change I made an appointment to come back the following week. Today was my first experience with their service work and what I was told would be a 2 hour wait ended up being only 40 minutes! I liked that I could watch what was being done to my car through the glass window in the waiting area. Overall great service and great value. I will most likely return for service instead of going to the rip off Honda dealer. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. These people are crooks. They quote you at one price and charge you triple. I came in for a simple tune up. My car was running beautifully, I simply wanted to ensure that it was safe for a cross-country road trip. These greedy scumbags replaced things that did not need replacing, adjusted things that did not need adjusting, and neglected to ask me whether or not I wanted these specific services before they just went ahead with the work. I replaced my air filter LAST month at Jiffy Lube and they toom it upon themselves to replace it again, and charge for it. They rotated my tires which was actually a disservice- as I had them rotated the day before elsewhere. They started at $318, then they jumped to $470, and at the end of the day I spent $500 for absolutely nothing, unless you count a sudden emissions light and a shaky engine. I had to bring my car back the following day because they are SO lazy and unprofessional, they don't even secure or fine tune their work. This is a great place to get any work done on your car. I only go to the Firestone on Post Road because I never feel like they take advantage of people. All the service workers are really nice and I have never had to wait more than 3 hours to get my car serviced. Poor scheduling practices here. I called to set up an appointment , spoke with Charles and was told I could come in the following day at 0800. I explained that I would be waiting with the truck. The next day upon arrival I checked in , they had no idea I was even coming in. My truck didnt even make it into the shop until 0930. I waited with my truck until 1200. Went there today because I had a nail in my tire. When we checked in, the woman at the counter asked where on the tire the nail was. We gave her the approximate location. Without ever going to look at the tire, she said the tire couldn't be repaired and we would have to buy a new tire. How about taking a look before trying to sell us something that we didn't need? Beware, I recently took my suv here to have the ac serviced and they tried to scam me, I told the service advisor I replaced the condenser but not the o rings and suspected it was leaking from there I dropped the truck off at 1030 they did not look at it until 3! Then he calls to inform me I need a compressor for 720$ luckily I went to trade school for automotive technology I just don't have the ac testing equipment which is the only reason I went here so I said forget it, when I arrived they were telling me the compressor would not turn on even with direct power which I knew was a lie, so I bought 2 o rings for 40cents and 2 12oz cans of Freon for 13$ and put them in myself. When he could have done it himself for less than half of that. Once we picked up the car it was COVERED in grease and oil!! Just another upset customer to add to the list! This is a corporate store, and the main focus is to make money, so be aware. They do good work, for the most part, but they try to hit a home run most of the time when the situation calls for a less expensive fix. I had a rebuilt starter put in, two months later AAA is towing my vehicle to the service station to have another put in. Two weeks later that starter needs to be replaced. This time I'm in the shop, standing next to the mechanic who worked on my vehicle each time, and he tells the GM to 'do it right this time' because the place is looking foolish. So this time a bit more expensive starter is put in and it's been working fine ever since. This was over a year ago. Ethics meets profit margin. read more

Purchased tires through special order. They were mounted and balanced by appointment. Done and out the door on time and on budget.

The three star rating is towards them actually getting the job done and not costing a lot of money. Everything else I would rate them lower. I dropped my car off while I was at work because I had a nail in my front tire that had to be taken out and my tire fixed. I called them when I got out of work and they said it would take about a half hour more. Okay fine, I didn't mention that my car had been there for six hours.. Anyway, I waited about 45 minutes and called them back. They said it was done and I could come pick it up. I only work right down the street so I went to pick it up and when I got there, they gave me the dreaded "It'll be just a couple more minutes." Um hello? Why did you tell me it was done when it wasn't. Well three cups of burnt coffee later it took them another 45 minutes before I could get my car. I have no idea what they were doing. The annoying part is that I was sitting there waiting and there was always a staff member right by. They couldn't take the time to keep me in the loop about what was going on with my car? I am extremely disappointed and upset with the experience I recently had at Firestone, located at 1689A Post Rd, Warwick, RI. On November 2, 2020 I had my 2005 Toyota Sienna towed in for service, as we needed our water pump replaced. I called ahead and spoke with Charles and explained what was going on. He said that he would be able to take a look at it in the morning and confirm if it was the water pump. Tuesday 11/3 towards the end of the day, I had to reach out to Charles as I had heard nothing about the vehicle. He informed me at that time, they had to do another test in the morning to confirm that it was the water pump, and he would be in touch. On Wednesday 11/4 around 830am, Charles calls to tell me that my water pump does need to be replaced and explains that it is a 5-hour job and gives me a quote. I give approval to go ahead and replace the water pump by 930am that morning. I hear nothing all day. Now they are open until 7 pm at night. I was under the impression that the job would be done, or I would of heard back from Charles, as communication is a big part of customer service. I call Thursday morning asking a timeline on when my vehicle will be ready, I get attitude and push back and am told it should be done by 12pm no sooner. I get a call that the car is ready. I now Uber down to pick up my vehicle. I go in to pay and get my keys. I go and start my Van. It turns over and starts to chug, not feeling or sounding right, so I press on the gas. Now I am still in park, I have not even put my can into reverse to pull away. Suddenly the check engine light comes on along with every other light on the dash. After 2 and half days for a 5-hour job on a car, this is not how I want to receive my car back. I shut it off and return inside. I explain what just happened and how upset I am. They use the computer to check what the error codes read. Come to find out they must keep the vehicle to redo the whole job because the timing was off. At this point Charles comes to speak to me and says that Toyotas have issues when the batteries are taken out. Which made no sense. I asked the other service tech if this was going to eb another 5 hours? He says it will be another two days, but don't worry its all covered. Except I have no car, and now I am without a vehicle for another 2 days for a 5-hour job? Not only that but I run a small local business and need a vehicle to take care of our customers. I was offered a ride home and that was it. It wasn't until I got home did I realize that without my authorization, Firestone took it upon themselves to change my timing belt which still had close to 20,000 mile left on it before needing to be changed. Since doing an unauthorized service on our vehicle, we went 10 days with no car for a 5-hour job. After leaving my car at Firestone in Warwick on Thursday 11/5 since it was not properly fixed and they replaced a timing belt that was not authorized, instead of getting my car back that day or Friday, I did not get it back until the following Thursday. I called Sunday to find out what was going on, only to find out the store had been shut down due to lift issues on Saturday. Not one person called to explain what was going on. I got directed to speak to another Firestone location. I spoke with a manager named David who was able to at least help my family and myself get a rental and reimbursed some for the rental I had since the 11/5 when they originally had not fixed the vehicle properly. Never did I hear from the manager Charles to explain anything. Even the rental company was confused as how long I was to have the rental. This whole situation took place because they did unauthorized work on our vehicle. Our vehicle was taken to another Firestone to be fixed on Tuesday 11/10. It should have been fixed on 11/5 or 11/6 the latest. When I tried to confront Charles about the unauthorized work done that resulted in being without a vehicle for 10 days, he told me basically, that anyone would be stupid not to replace the timing belt when replacing the water pump. As stated, I had another 20,000 miles until that needed to be changed, that is 2 years for most folks. And last I checked it was our vehicle and we should have a say as to what is done. I explained how the lack of communication was unbelievably bad customer service and that no one called to explain anything. He came at me saying his Service tech told him he called me. Which never happened. He was demeaning and intimidating and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. I called customer service for Firestone that night 11/12 to put a complaint in as no one should be allowed to do work that was unauthorized, which resulted in 10 day without a car and no communication on what was happening. The customer service stated that the local Area Manager Kendra Lamas would be reaching out. I received and email asking, "When was a good time to speak?" I responded with a time.
