Got my vehicle inspected here just 6 months ago with no issues. Brought it this time for a specific issue and they listed out $5,000 in maintenance needs, including brakes/rotors, tires and an air filter which I just had replaced. Did these items wear a little since replaced? Yes, but they aren't due for replacement again just yet. I tried asking what was actually needed and the front desk guy was clueless. He went to ask and got it down to $2000. Took it somewhere else and it was less than $300 to fix the actual issue. So this place got me for the inspection fee which is unfortunate but I'm glad I didn't pay them $2000+ when it's not necessary. read more

This is a continuation of my previous review. You won't believe what I have encountered with this place. After they told me that I have to replace rear break pads and rotors which will cost me $375 plus, I told them I didn't trust them and have walked out. Then I went to a different brake repair shop. They have looked at both front and rear brakes of my car. I was stunned to hear what their diagnosis was. They told me that the hardware of the front brakes which Firestone replaced was put on backwards and the rear brakes need just caliper slide. The total cost to correctly replace the front brakes and adding a caliper in the rear brakes was only $113. The replacement of rear brake pads and rotors for grinding noise which Firestone recommended wasn't the problem at all. I really didn't need to replace front brakes and all it needed was to add a caliper slide in the rear brakes. If I would have gone to the second place to begin with it would have cost me only around $75. I just wasted $475 for nothing. I think it was just a way of deceiving me and make $475. I would strongly suggest anyone who wants to do brake job not to go to that place. If you have to go to Firestone for some reason, please get a second opinion before giving any money to them. read more

Had a flat tire, took me all night to install spare after working 16 hours. Met Ben the service manager, he understood my pain. Got my tire in right away, and they were able to patch it. Most places would tell you you need a new tire, since they make any money on repairs. But, everybody was honest, they didn't mess around. it was done quick. in and out in less than a half hour for minimal cost. Very impressed with the service, I will be back when I'm ready for new tires. read more

So, I was in need of new brakes for my car, and didn't want to go to the dealership and pay double when I could go somewhere else and save a few hundred dollars. I was torn between this place and a few others, but went here because they had some coupons available. Mind you, I've never been to a Firestone before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. For starters, they open at 7AM. Others (Belle Tire) open at 8 AM, and don't even bother showing up to a dealership like this without an appointment. I dealt with Michelle and she was 100% awesome! She guided me through the whole process and even took an additional bit more off the top since she knew Pep Boys was matching and beating some of their prices for brakes. I was able to watch the mechanic work on my car for the two and a half hours I was there. Michelle even showed me how worn out my brake pads were, and what new ones should look like. This really made me feel better since a large purchase like this can be stressful and expensive. Overall I was impressed with a few different things while stopping in here. First, the prices are competitive for auto care. Secondly I didn't feel upsold on anything, or "scared" into a purchase I may not have needed. I found the whole experience to be pleasant, and honest. Mostly honest! That's all I ask for. Firestone charged $765 for 4 new brakes and rotors. If I had gone to the dealership for the same services, they would have charged me $930, and the service tech was mean to me and hurt my feelings. The female employee with the fish bowl cut was not welcoming as soon as I walked in. Not only was she rude right away she was in a bad mood already, our interaction was nothing but expected from a place that has a low rating. If simple work is needed like an oil change, tires, alignment, this is the location. After that, it is a hit or miss on the quality. Firestone replaced my thermostat in Jan 2024. My car is a 2015 Chrysler 300 with 66K miles, so we are not rough on cars. I went back in Feb/Mar and again in Jun for the same issue, heat not blowing out. On this last straw day, I drove for 20 minutes, 45 mph avg, and left my car running as I waited to pick someone up. It started to rain like cat and dogs while waiting. I put on the defrost at the 75 degrees where it used to work fine. For the same reason as the previous visits, cold to cool air is blowing, so I had to use a towel to wipe the windshield and partially lower the windows to drive, in the rain. Two days later, Firestone inspects my car and apparently blasts the temp max'd out and says the defrost heat works. This was once a reliable location. read more

On 12/06/2016, I purchased two rear tires for my Cadillac CTS Coupe (P265/45R18) for a total price of $330.82. Great price because sweet little Sam (on Van Dyke in Sterling Heights, MI) made an error so he had to give me a discount of $207. The total price would have been $537.82, which was the price I was prepared to pay. I really appreciated the discount so I went back and purchased two front tires. Well, it is now August 31, 2020 and I need new tires. I called Firestone on Van Dyke in Sterling Heights, MI, spoke with Jason and he gave me a quote of $853.00 without tax and installation for two rear tires. I took my car to Honda dealer they told me firestone didn't even check my car and that all i needed was Freon and a recharge. I guess they saw a woman and thought I was a fool. This service center has phenomenal car care. I have been going to Firestone with multiple cars over the past 11 years. Brian is the best technician. He's the manager of this store, and I followed him from the Macomb Mall store when he was promoted and took over this location. The guys here take such great care and really help you undrrstand your issues. They will do your warranty work too if your warranty allows for their center to handle it, you just need to bring your warranty to them. I have had every oil change here on every car I've had (with the exception of the free changes the dealer occasionally offered with new cars). Never any issues. They offer great coupons that come to your house, and you can sign up for preventative maintenance reminders for your routine mile marker suggested tuneups. I have never had anyone here try to sell me anything I didn't want or make a suggestion that wasn't warranted. Look they know chances are you are there for something you don't want to spend money on. It's such an inconvenience to have your car gone for even a few hours. Sure, they have labor costs, but over the years I have realized that good work costs money. You are paying for the experience and workmanship of the certified technicians. The guys here don't talk down to you or make you feel stupid for any issue you describe to them. You also are paying for the guarantee that if for some reason your issue comes back, their parts and service has a guarantee to rectify that situation. I felt I needed to write this because most people just want to find a guy to fix their car as cheaply as possible. That doesn't mean someone can't, but just because you pay a little more at a licensed repair shop doesn't mean you got ripped off. It means you had a quality person inspect, troubleshoot and repair your car so it's in tip top condition to cart your butt around all over town. You wouldn't pay $20 to some guy on the street with WebMD to diagnose your health, you shouldn't do that for cars either. Take it here :) read more

I always check Yelp for reviews before going anywhere and this place got rave reviews. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I googled coupons for this place and found an oil change coupon for $19.99 plus fees/tax etc. It ended up being around $25 but I expected that since I called first. They are very busy so I'm glad I called and scheduled an appointment. My oil change took over an hour and I had an appointment which is why I'm only giving them four stars. it took longer than any oil change I've ever gotten but they were thorough. I think they are thorough for the upsells. My battery connections needed cleaning and I was told that would be a $10 fee. I told them that I am on disability and had no extra money to spend and that just the oil change was fine. Mike said he didn't like the look of it and had the mechanic clean my battery connections anyway and waived the fee. I was very pleased when I left and will be going back again. I was there on a Friday but Mike told me weekends are the busiest time so go during the week if you can. The lobby area was clean and not freezing like most places at this time of year, I was able to take off my bulky winter coat and get comfy. There's also a TV. Went here for the first time to get a set of 4 tires for my Jeep Compass....I had already looked up tires on their website, picked out a brand and size, printed off my search, and brought it into Firestone. First, you must make an appointment! I was the first one at the door at 7am on a Saturday, and it was very busy already!!! Especially with customers that had appointments. But, they took me in and I was out in no time, which was one of my stars to this review. Next, when I showed the manager my print out, he asked if I called ahead to see if the tires I selected were in stock. I didnt, only because I didnt know how the procedure works. He informed me that he could either order the tires or he had some tires in stock already, which were better quality and he could give them to me for the price of the tires I had printed out. Great! My second star of this review. The waiting room was pretty nice, typical of a car shop. Bathroom was clean, always a plus on my review. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Didnt push any other products or service, was also great. My car was done in about 1 1/2 hours. Everyone that came into the shop seemed to be on a first name basis, which to me is pretty impressive, meaning thoose people come in often for oil changes, tires, ect. In comparison to the dealership (Chrysler Sterling Heights on Van Dyke), Brian did not ask me if my husband was ok with the service before they fixed the tire, he did not ask me for my husband's cell number to run it by him first, and treated me as nicely as he treated the skinny people : ) He did not upsell any unnecessary add ons, or try to convince me to buy a new tire. I was there for about 60 minutes, and I did not have an appointment. I would recommend checking them out. Update 11/19/13 - called again yesterday because my engine light was on. They suggested I go to the dealer to save money in case it was under warranty, and it was. They told me to call back if I needed any more help. Such pleasant people. read more

Do not go to and believe anything that Firestone complete care care in Clinton twp has to say. I went in for a tire rotation and a wheel alignment. I walked out only having supposedly getting the tire rotation and with them wanting me to get $1200 worth of work done. And this is where they lied and tried to play me out of money- Cabin air filter- was replace less than 2 weeks before this visit Air filter- was just check about an hour before at an oil change shop and was replaced around 2 months ago 3 tires- was checked out by a reputable mechanic and do not need to be replaced any time soon Left and right outer tire rods- was replaced in august of 2020 and just checked by reputable mechanic and do not need to be fixed and or replaced. Electric power steering- was checked by a reputable mechanic and there is no issue All of this was what they wanted to "fix" and change me to do. As well as when I went to go leave they told me that my car that has a new battery in it needed to be jumped twice. So I took my vehicle to get service for an oil change at Firestone today. I spoke with Ben the manager who greeted me at the front desk. While waiting to get the oil change done the service tech came out and told me the car wouldn't start??? Okay I understand that but you have ASE technicians to be able to point out problems for your customers?? He was finally able to start up the car and did the service work on the oil change. After the oil change was done he parked it for me to drive off. While trying to start it it wouldn't turn over. So I tried it again and drove home I decided to drive to AutoZone to test out the battery. The tech said it was fine she said you have a problem with your starter. So I called the manager at Firestone that service my vehicle. And told him I wasn't happy that he wasn't able to point out what was wrong with my vehicle or at least offer a Diagnostics before I left their place. I told him I would like to speak to the district Mgr I told him I was also going to contact the Better Business Bureau. He said you do what you got to do. I took my Town and Country mini van for a front end alignment after I rebuilt the front end on my own. First off I made a appointment to have the work done. I got there on time and they were running a bit behind. I expect that form a service shop things happen and are beyond the control of the shop. As soon as they knew that it was going to be a big delay. In getting me in and work completed. Kevin the store manager apologize for the delay and asked if I needed to be anywhere. He offered to set a new appointment if I needed to go. I waited for my work to be done. I always figure on needing more time than expected. Things can and do go wrong. I was glad I waited. I was able to witness Kevin and his staff hard at work. Every customer they interacted with. Was treated with respect and never talked down to, and never pressured into buying something they did not need. Kevin was very accommodating to answering my questions and providing me with quotes for repairs that need to be made. That I don't have the money to do at this time. Having worked in the sales and service fields. I can say without a doubt. This is a first class operation. I would recommend anyone to them. I will be going back to them as money allows. Just to be fair and clear. I know no one that works at this location or have any affiliation with Firestone or any of it's suppliers or companies. I am just a very satisfied customer. read more

As I write this I am fuming mad and still in disbelief. I have heard of other people being scammed at repair shops but I never thought it would to happen to me. This place tried to sell my wife hundreds of dollars in tie rods and labor to get out of honoring their lifetime alignment service agreement I prepaid for. They took us right in, gave us an exceptional price and because it took a little longer than originally planned they gave us a free premium oil change and a slew of other services. Purchased 4 tires and the complete package , do I thought in 2016 but had a problem late in 17 after Christmas. Went back and waited till a counter person finally came out . 25 min later. Told me a wait-or drop off but couldn't get to it that day . O'Hara wheel to get fixed and balanced and for $55 they maybe could do it next day. She said she had two Call ins and were backed up - behind!! Lost me and three of the waiting behind me. They were horrible and told me the tires were not sold with a warranty -/// who does that in today's market place . Went across the street to discount tire and had tires r and r and balanced and rotate for $40 . No problem and they were professional and courteous.. they need lots of stuff at that firestone store. I love the staff here because they are so nice and I have been coming here since my first car and my dad was going there before that. My dad passed away so if I go in by myself, (I am female) I end up having some type of problem with my car that needs to be fixed. I have an auto shop that my cousin runs, so I have him check anything to make sure I am not being swindled. Firestone told me that my Tie-Rods needed to be replaced because of wear and tear, but my car is only a few year years old with decent miles. I had my cousin check out my car and it is completely fine. I have a lifetime warranty for front-end alignments so now they won't do any unless I have my tie-rods replaced. I had a different Firestone look at my car, but had my cousin go in in my place as my car's owner and that Firestone said my car was fine. I am not impressed by the employees trying to prey on people who lack knowledge in such a complex area. read more

I stopped by this location after being sent there by another tire shop that didn't have my tire in stock. I should have known by the lack of customers, it was a big mistake. First of all the first guy at the counter took my contact information and then went to gather stats from my car. He came back and then he and another guy conducted "research" on my car while I waited at the counter. Mind you the first guy had to make another trip to gather more information for this so called research. I'm still standing at the counter while they are calculating and discussing things. I knew right away I was about to be taken advantage of. Sure enough the "research" showed that I needed three of the tires replaced instead of just the one. I definitely wasn't going to pay for three tires when all of my maintenance on the car and the replacement of another tire I had a nail in previously had been done by the Chrysler dealership where I leased the car and no one ever mentioned the guidelines these two came up with. To me, if the dealership for the maker of the car doesn't have these requirements, why do you? After the second guy told me he couldn't go against his guidelines and just sell me one tire - I left to keep from losing my temper. Stay away from this place. They definitely don't know what they are doing and try to gouge you! Just Awful! read more
