I don't recommend this establishment to anyone especially single or widowed women. I was taken advantage of days after my husband died. The manager failed to take my correct information for a 1,020 dollar purchase of new tires. I could not get them to correct my paperwork. They admitted that they don't check credit card names and addresses. I had to return because my car was pulling to the right, just to find out that the tire alignment was not included and would be another 120 dollars. read more

I've been a technician for 40 years now and a friend of mine was in a bind and I sent him this location on 1 wise road. Or she was given an estimate for a power steering leak of $628. My friend called me and asked to inquire about the work being done and I was told that a complete power steering hoses being installed Along with a two hour labor charge of Almost $300 and then an extra $85 to degrease The engine bay. I was told that the power steering return line had Blown off the tube. I asked if I could just be re-clamped and he told me no the horses are very soft and mushy. I told them it seemed kind of high, but proceed with the repairs. After she got the car home, I brought it to my shop and raised it up on the rack only to find out all the hoses he told me were replaced were old and rusty , completely full of rust at the original clamps from Honda still on them except for one. And that clamp was put on an old hose that was original to the car if they replaced one 6 inch piece of pipe That was about the most they did but it was a completely bent up scrap piece of pipe that they must've found under the beach somewhere. When I called the store manager, all he could say was that he could assure me that all the parts they told me it needed replacing were replaced. I got asked if I could come to the shop with the car and prove to him that none of the stuff is new but all they did is replace one clamp that should've been a $50 job not $638. I totally took a vantage of this young lady. I asked if she could be reimbursed, and he told me "NO" and that he Could assure me that the parts were replaced. I told him that's absolutely impossible and his response was that he will not give any money back because they did all the work that she was charged for please please please Run do not WALK away From this establishment and pretty much every firestone out, there are a bunch of rip offs or take advantage of people. mechanics like this, really ruined it for us, honest ones. IF I COULD GIVE -5 STARS I WOULD, I came here with my mom to change my tire, my tire ONLY. She comes home with 500$ charge on a tire and oil change?!?!? We didn't even need an oil change, and magically I wake up and that same tire is now even flatter than it was, A PANCAKE, and the staff were very very rude, they wouldn't answer any questions me or my mother had and they would stare and speak in Spanish, I believe they were speaking about my mother. Brought in a tire with a nail hole, figuring they could patch it. They patched it, but tried to sell me four new tires with a big stack of additional services, claiming my current tires were bald and I needed an alignment among other things. I checked the tread depth myself before going there and found I have 6/32. A bunch of fast talkers is what they are. But it gets better. My tires are clearing marked for 51 psi cold. These are truck tires, not tires for souped-up golf carts. They took air out of my tires until they were at 26 psi. I guess they didn't figure on me having a commercial grade tire pressure gauge in addition to the tire pressure sensors that show current pressure on the dash. When I got home, put more air back into the tires. Bottom line, if you go here for service, watch them like a hawk and expect to be told things that are just not true. And get yourself a tire pressure gauge and tread depth gauge from a truck stop to double-check their work. read more

Went to have my wheels checked for a noise. Refused work and drove 15 minutes away and my car started smoking. They towed the vehicle in for free and said it had a hose bust and they would fix it for free. Showed me where the hose was busted and antifreeze was leaking everywhere. Note..while waiting for the tow truck..no antifreeze anywhere but no oil on the dip stick. I received a call later that same day stating my engine blew from driving on it while hot. Note we only drove the amount of time to pull over safely. I was told they would file a claim with their insurance and I would receive a call from a third party claims adjuster within 72 hours. Two days later, a representative from their corporate office in Tennessee called stating they are not going to file a claim or take responsibility because they didn't do any work on my vehicle. However, while waiting for their tow truck, I checked the oil and all the oil was out of my vehicle. The technician said he advised me to get a oil change but I refused. Firstly, I got proof I had an oil change less than 30 days prior to this from the actually dealership. That inspected the vehicle and most of the things they claim was wrong the dealership didn't find. Secondly, advisement of an oil change without disclosing there isn't any oil in the vehicle is not proper advisement and negligence. Dirty oil doesn't cause immediate damage to the engine but no oil doesn't. Lastly, when I got to the facility my vehicle was still in the air as if it had been worked on It had been two days since they inspected my vehicle. After they towed the vehicle in, when I got to the shop they had already started putting fluids in the vehicle. What happened is one technician removed the oil thinking I was going to get an oil change and when I refused, a different technician didn't know and put the tires back on and allowed me to leave without any oil. There is no way possible. I drove from Minnesota to Illinois and drove around Illinois for 2 days without any oil in my vehicle and the vehicle made it to their shop. Started up upon leaving but stopped less than 15 minutes driving a way and never started again. Note I have the technician admitting he knew the oil was low in my vehicle but never informed me. Just told me it needed a oil change. In addition, if I had an oil leak they should have noticed it. read more

i dropped off my car for a slow leak on the left front tire. they called me and told me there was a leak at the rim and they could fix it. they also recommended replacing the drive belt for 191.49 and the air filter for 50.99. i did not ask for the cost of the tire fix and they did not offer that info. i told them that for now i just want them to repair the tire. they told me that they would call me when they were finished. this all took place early in the afternoon, around 1 pm. i hadn't heard anything by 6 pm so i called them back and they told me it was ready. the person i spoke with was surprised that i hadn't been called. i picked up the car and was charged $31.39 for the tire repair which is totally ok with me. i drove the car home and when i pulled into the garage i realized i had driven home without headlights. i always keep the headlight control in the auto position and while they had the car in their shop they had turned the switch to manual. this is partly my fault because i realize that repair shops often put the headlights in manual while the car is in their shop and i should have checked. my main issues are that the next day before driving the car i opened the hood to take a look at the belt which probably has more life in it. of course, that's a judgement call. i was going to check the air filter but i saw that of 4 screws that secure the filter cover in place two of them were broken off. i had personally replaced the filter in late 2o22 and i had no issue with the screws being broken off. since they told me i needed a new filter they must have inspected the old one. it's possible that they broke the screws. it's also possible that they never looked at the air filter and just tried to sell me a new one. one more issue. after i started the car i navigated the information center on the car and checked the tire pressures. the recommended cold tire pressure is 35 psi. the 2 left side tires were within 2 psi of that. the two tires on the right side were way over the 35 psi. one was at 48 psi and the other was at 50 psi. that isn't very safe especially for highway driving. i verified the tire pressures with an old fashioned tire pressure tester. since i was having problems with that one tire i had checked pressure in all 4 tires immediately before taking the car in. i'm sure they can put the blame on me as an excuse but that's their perogative. as for me, they are never going to get any more of my business. read more

Came here to get a check engine light fixed. They were able to repair my oxygen sensor, but gave me my car back with more lights on than when I dropped it off. I asked them why that is, and they wanted to charge me another $109 to run diagnostics after they messed it up. These guys will fix one thing and break another. Then expect you to pay for them to tell you what they did wrong and then to fix. What a joke. read more

I was looking for the sure drive touring tires for my 2015 equinox from 3 different firestone stores with no luck the manager of the wise road in Schaumburg got on the phone to 5 different stores and found 4 tires for me and had them shipped the next day. Also for all my trouble I had trying to get these tires for 3 days he gave me the best discount ever 4 tires with install for total $425.00 that's unheard of. Thanks Again for helping me when the other stores tried to sell me different tires for $700.00 and love the tires. read more

My wife bought a tire warranty $$$ incase she gets a flat. She has a slow leak on rear tire I told her if you bring it in they will find a way to tack on a charge I say this because my brother brought his car in for a tire rotation and eneded up over 2500 in brakes etc. Back to my wife and my guess was spot on ,They called back several hours later and have to charge her $12 a lugnut because the lugnuts are swollen (good one) I guess the warranty does not cover the taking off of a tire and I'm a very good home mechanic and I know that lugnuts can require a bit of muscle but they are a basic part of the process to taking a tire off to start checking for a leak its like taking the tire off is not included in the warranty Folks beware of this store and its overly aggressive qoutes for repairs and dont ever buy there warranty you'll end up throwing your money out the door That is if they have to remove the tire read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I hit a small mound of snow/ice in my work vehicle. The muffler and tailpipe disconnected and the car noise got slightly louder and the tailpipe was rattling. I took the car here to see what was wrong. They told me that the entire exhaust system needed to be replaced and the cost would be $1611. This is a 2008 vehicle and I'm probably going to trade it in this summer. No way was I putting a new exhaust system in. I took this to a local independent muffler/auto shop. They brought me out to the bayp and showed me what they were going to do. They replaced the pipe and clamps and did a little welding. Total cost was $125. The whole exhaust system was not in bad shape and did NOT need to be replaced. Steer clear of this place. They tried to rip me off. read more

Let me start by saying that my husband and I have been taking all of our vehicles (5 total) to Firestone since 1996. Recently we experienced exactly what other reviewers stated about being "scammed". On 2 separate occasions we were told that our car needed over $1000 worth of work and when we brought the same car to two other repair places we were told it needed not nearly as much work ($425) - And the other repair shops physically showed us the parts that were in good working condition and did not need to be replaced. That's what really turned me off to this place. The management has changed and the customer service has certainly gone downhill. I don't know if this location is performing poorly and therefore they feel overcharging customers is the way to go but I do not trust this place. Spending money on your car is almost as fun as forking over your wallet at the dentist. But, alas, if you're concerned about your safety on the road, you better adhere to the necessary maintenance and creaks that your car shares with you...usually during the most inopportune times, of course. This Firestone has a handful of good things going for it... 1) Friendly service: The guys who have serviced my car are friendly, knowledgeable and offer to handle a few small things here and there without charging up the wazoo. This includes resetting my internal tire pressure gauge when it wasn't representing the correct wheels and looking into a few other matters I didn't have on my service list. 2) Online appointment booking: I LOVE this. Often times when there is an issue with my car, or I've just waited way, way too long for an oil change, I remember to book an appointment when I don't have a little person singing in my ear. This is usually well past business hours, so online appointment booking is my jam. 3) Location: It's next to County Donuts. Nothing wrong with that. 4) Price: It's not the most affordable, IMO. $50+ for an upgraded oil change makes me cringe, especially when it's performed as standard. This surprised me when I booked an oil change online and come to find out post-service that I was serviced, and thus charged, for an upgraded oil change. Next time I would appreciate if they ask before assuming I want to spend a Grant on an oil change. Convenience and quality is key, so I'm sure I'll ride back over to Firestone next time my car needs some love. read more

I've trusted this location for years. I tried to get my son and daughter to use them, but just after one visit they each questioned why I liked them. Today I found out first hand what they meant. Granted they've changed personnel and managers, but I was outraged with the bogus repairs they said I needed They claimed I needed a brake job and I had a leak In my front axle. The cost:$1,000 I took the car to Lexus for a brake inspection. They said I had plenty of brake pad, and said the leak looked like someone put some grease on my axle, to make it looked a leak, in a sealed compartment I'm done with Firestone read more

I had a brake inspection at the end of April at this Firestone dealer. Diagnosis: everything good. Two months later I came in with a grinding brake noise-Bad calipers. I asked why this was not discovered in the brake inspection. Their reply- we don't inspect the calipers unless a grinding noise is reported. So, my rotors (new in April) and pads had to be replaced because of the damage caused by the calipers. I believe that a brake inspection should cover all brake components or what good is it? Firestone took no responsibility for the brake damage and their estimate for replacing rotors, pads and calipers was $1140!! I called dealer and their estimate was $1010-over one hundred dollars cheaper. I will never use this Firestone again. Awful service. read more

Really good experience with this shop. I heard a concerning rattling/grinding sound coming from my car. I had just gotten my breaks and rotors replaced at another shop so I knew it was nothing to do with that. I automatically stared thinking of worst case scenario...my alternator. I drove to the shop after getting off of work. The shop was about to close but the service tech took the time to come outside to listen to the sound. He told me right as the car started what he thought it was. He said it's safe to drive and to come back when I'm able to. I went back a few days later. After evaluating the car he told me it was exactly what he thought it was! They were able to service the part without doing a full replacement which saved me $. Drove out of the shop issue resolved! 5/5 for customer service and experience. read more

He went into high gear for me, got his 3 best installers on the job (John, Mark, and Abrahan) to get it done. And what a nice guy! I so appreciated the efficiency and professionalism. I will be back. While pulling my car out of the garage this morning I discovered my tire was flat. I drove on my run-flat tires about 1 mile to this Firestone. The person who helped me asked if I could leave it with him, I told him I needed to get to work and I would wait. He replied he could not get to me until 9 an hour and half later. I said ok and I understood his situation and that I would really appreciate any help with the timing. He silently proceeded to exceed my expectations. About :20 minutes later he announced it was fixed. I was elated. My problem started when someone at work asked me what the charged. I replied 41.86. He said one of their competitors fixes flats for free. I will probably go there next time. 41.26 seemed excessive but really when their competition does it for free? read more

Short story is the service advisor wouldn't add oil to my mother's car. These guys work off commission, and wouldn't give her the time of day to put her back on the road. Apparently making an online appointment doesn't matter. Got to my appt and was told that it would take several hours to do an oil change. He had the audacity to tell me that I should have called to see what the wait time was. My question is why send a confirmation email to say that my appointment time was available. I wasted my gas and my time driving all the way there. If I was Firestone, I would get rid of the online appt option since that is obsolete and untrustworthy. read more

I took my car in here after I did some DIY work on my suspension looking to check out an unrelated noise. Not only did they solve the problem by letting me know it was the tires, but they also fixed some (risky) mistakes that had resulted from my DIY work for barely the cost of the clamps:) They were very polite and didn't make me feel stupid despite making some very obvious mistakes. The only thing that was a drawback was the wait time. I arrived at 5PM but they didn't finish until after 7:30 PM. For a job of replacing tires, putting in some clamps, and aligning, this seems like a long time. In their defense, though, they were kind of busy and it's usually a good sign if a place has lots of business. read more

Not sure why the bad reviews here...Went in for a brake check-up. An hour later the service technician came and explained that brakes were all fine. He also took the time to explain the current state of the brakes which were above average and not in need of replacement, rather than charging for unnecessary service/parts...above all the inspection was free! read more

Service is horrible... got there and they had only 1 car in the stall. I had a nail in my tire... 45 min later they tell me my other tire needs a new seal, blubs out over my plates and a side blub out. I ask how much longer.. oh 15 minutes I will put a fire under the tech. Still sitting here well over an hour and half for a plug in my tire originally ... really! If you are in a hurry don't come here... they have at least 6 techs working but maybe if they all stop chatting and actually work things would get done faster. I never seen a shop where they work in pairs and it is this slow. read more

I bought tires from here in 2017 November and had no issues/problems at that time. I recently went and dropped my vehicle off because one of my tires was showing low pressure and was told they had removed a nail and patched it up and also would rotate my tires since that was also due. I received a call an hour later that I needed my brake fluid changed and a filter changed which would total about $180 for these services. I was short on time and decided to not get these done. Took the car to Casey's automotive on barrington road that my friend had referred me to. They checked my filters, my fluids and did an oil change and said everything looked good and I didn't need any other services except the oil change. The guy from Casey's basically said I was being scammed into additional services. So besides my tires, I won't be returning to firestone. read more

In my experience with this place I would not recommend them to work on anything related to electrical problems!I had a problem with my windshield wipers a while back so I brought it in and they told me that my fose box was cracked and they took my truck in for 3 days ,replaced my fuse box along with every single fuse in it!When I came to pick up my truck they handed me a bill of almost 2000.00,and told me I should consider changing out my wiper motor too..wow! What pisses me off now is that problem with the wipers has come back but only when it rains for days on end so I opened my new fuse(on the side of the Kennedy expressway ) and with the wipers on I jiggled a few wires and the wipers would come on intermediately.I'm going back to see if they can explain what my money paid for .Il keep you informed on this nightmare with them and hopefully they can remedy this situation or refund my money so I can take it to a place that can(p.s. for a 2000.00 bill and having my truck so long if they thought the motor was bad first thing,they could have tested it with another new one and replaced it ,They cost 118.00 but I guess that fix wouldnt have cost me 2000.00 either.....or would it ,interesting). read more

Had my daughter's car towed here because it wouldn't start. It took forever to get the tow truck to get to us because of the cold weather. However, once my car got there it took less than 45 minutes for Erik from Firestone to call me and tell me that it was the battery. He gave me a fair price. Since we were trying to get the car started so we could get new tires, we let Firestone do the work. Again, I had done my homework and I knew they were giving me a fair price. Took my car in because it was leaking anti freeze.. Turned out the hoses came off and I had no anti freeze left. I was charged $200.00 for them to tighten the hoses and replace the anti freeze. I had to do it because I was far from home and didnt want to risk blowing my head gasket. But to rip off a customer like that and especially a loyal customer is just wrong. I will never return to that Firestone ever again. A few months before that my father brought his Honda in because it was leaking oil. The technician told him his motor was leaking and it would cost 1,000 dollars to repair. I suggested he take it to the Honda Dealership and see what they could do and maybe give him a discount since the warranty had just expired. The problem turned out to be a faulty oil pan which was only a 30 dollar fix and Honda did it for free anyways. So customers beware of this Firestone the only thing they want from you is your money so if you like bending over and taking it in the rear then by all means go to that Firestone! read more

I had my car towed in because it would not start. They called me back the next day to say that I needed a series of repair in excess of $5200. Seriously? Just tell me what it would take to get my car running again...which they quoted a $398 tune-up. I paid their "inspection fee" of $99 and took the car to a local mechanic who tuned it up for $220. Firestone needs to work on their bedside manner. I'll never go to this place again. read more

Turns out there was a piece of metal in my tire causing the air to leak. They fixed the tire and checked the rest of them too, Service with a smile, fast, and friendly! Wow! I came in without an appointment hoping to get a new tire since I had gotten a flat and didn't want to drive on the spare tire much. Mike was extremely helpful and gave me honest advice on which tires were the best value. Most tire places try to get you to buy all 4 new tires, but he didnt even try to pressure me into that after I told him that it wasn't in my budget right now. He also fixed the latch on the hood of my car (I couldn't get it open!) and topped off the wiper fluid for free! Really happy with the customer service here, everyone I interacted with was nice and helpful! Great experience! read more
