Made an online appointment request for 08 the next morning for an oil change, they called within the hour to let me know that appointment slot was already filled but they did get me in at noon on the requested day (so only 4 hours later than expected) The staff was professional. Offered me my military discount and asked if I had any coupons. He did tell me that I need a new battery (not true, although it was just sitting outside my vehicle for 6 months on deployment so there any have been a bit of corrosion that led him to that conclusion), need new wiper blades (I just replaced them this past weekend so no shot, Sir), and that I need to consider my timing belt (I don't have a timing belt I have a chain though...? And when I asked he backtracked REAL quick) Overall meh experience. Not the worst but I dislike mechanics that try to take advantage of people (do I need to replace those things now? No. But I know better and had it been someone who didn't know better than they might have wasted unnecessary time and money). Biggest complaint I have is that jiffy lube will change my oil in 30 mins or so (not that I trust them to touch my truck with a 10ft pole but still). So it bugs that I made a 1200 appointment and I still had to wait 2.5 hours. I've never been to a Firestone before and will not be going back ever again. It's the hottest week of the year and the AC broke in my car so i called Firestone cuz someone said I should. I called last week the guy said I can't be seen without an appointment. So I made an appointment and said are you sure I'll be able to come in and get helped immediately with an appointment. He said yes that's why you have to have an appointment. He said it's pretty easy to determine what part of the ac is broken. When I got there it was a totally different story. The guy said it's gonna be a long time and they only have one tech that day. That pissed me off they didn't tell me that when I made the appointment. He said even an hour would be ridiculous. I didn't find that funny. They kept my car for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. What's the point of having a frickin appointment?!!! I sat there wasting my time for 2.5 hours. And I told them I'm a single mom don't get child support and just lost my job so don't want to be upsold or hustled just please tell me what's wrong. Then after 2.5 hours they told me it was the compressor. They said it was going to cost $1600 and tried to sell me 4 brand new tires for a total of $2000. R u kidding me?! I posted this on a FB page I'm on and got 30 responses all saying Firestone is a joke and super overpriced. Date of most recent visit: April 2, 2021 I've been going to this particular Firestone location for quite some time now; unlike the one closest to me in Rancho Penasquitos, the staff here are professional and courteous to the customer. On my most recent visit, I was there for an oil change - but after that was done, was informed that I needed to get new tires (which I'd admittedly put off doing) and an alignment. Did it suck that I had to pay quite a bit more for something unexpected? Yes, it did... but at least they cut me a deal on the tires, and also told me about other work that needed to be done down the road. The waiting area is actually pretty quiet and has comfy seats - and this Firestone is on Convoy Avenue, meaning that you can step out for a bit and get some grub if needed be. read more

Got my break pads replaced here. Noticed immediately after driving home that the car was shaking when driving and was making weird noises. Took it back to firestone and they told me they noticed there was a problem with the new breaks and it would be covered under warranty. Took it home and it was still having the same issues. Ended up taking it to the dealership where they told me one of the break pads was only contacting half of the rotor. I waited in line for more than 20 minutes to drop off my car for a tire repair. There was only one person in front of me in line, but he was doing something complicated related to financing, and they didn't seem to have any other customer service representatives available. A couple of times, the representative behind the counter said "I'll be with you in just a moment" to me and the other customer waiting, but this was a lie. Twenty minutes is not "a moment". They need a better way of getting customers through the line. They also didn't do a good job of social distancing (during the COVID-19 pandemic). The technician wanted me to show him the issue with the tire, and I had to hand him my key (at a close distance). He held the lobby door open for me (again, closer than 6 feet). After he inspected the car, he handed the key back to me and held the lobby door open again when we went back inside. None of this would have been necessary if they had kept the lobby door open and had me pass the key across a counter. Also, I had called to explain the problem before I came in, so they shouldn't have needed me to point it out again in person. I appreciate that all staff wore masks, but it's also important to maintain social distancing, and they didn't do that. The tire repair seems to be holding up, and the price was reasonable. I was just frustrated by having to wait for so long to drop off my car, and not having a good way of maintaining social distancing. read more

Yesterday, my front passenger tire was rapidly deflating and I called several locations to get this problem fixed. While other locations told me the car would probably have to stay over night, Miguel Diaz reassured me that if I brought in the car soon, they would get the job done for me in a few hours despite being busy. I took my 2018 Civic Hatchback here awhile back due to hitting a pothole on a street nearby. They recommended an alignment which I agreed to and said they would inspect my tire to repair, great! I left to do errands and when I returned a few hours later they indicated that they couldn't repair the tire and that I would need a new one, great that's fine however they did not have the particular tire that I needed in stock at this location so it would have been a mismatched tire compared to the other three. It did not occur to me at the time as I was in a rush to get back home as it was nearly time for my spouse's birthday party but why didn't they mention about using the spare tire in my car? Why try to get a sale out of it? They said they would not let me take my car to an OEM dealer to have it taken care of as it was dangerous to drive which I'm aware however THERE WAS A SPARE TIRE IN THE CAR. Yes I am partially at fault as well for not realizing at the time but the shop was fully aware too. I'm sure the techs were grinning as they got an unnecessary sale out of me. I called and was told if I got there at 7am I'd be able to be out the door by 7:30 or 7:45 at the latest. I came to this location because it was near a place I needed to be at 8:40 a.m. Made the appointment weeks in advance. Just a simple procedure needed to be done. I didn't get my car until 8:25, and was late to my other appointment. Which was my sole reason for going to this location. Also, paper work was brought up at 8:10, but Diego thought the car was done and it wasn't. I expressed my concern about the time (and I get it; EVERY customer wants to get out of there quickly and he probably hears this all the time, but I specifically said that on the phone when making the appointment and was told I would be). Also, car needs to be approved for safety by DMV and they're strict about how the form is filled out. I explained this to Diego. Yet, the signature from the mechanic, is just circles scribbled over and over. It doesn't look like a signature. It looks like somebody just scribbled in 25 circles, so...the DMV will probably not even approve this, and I'm going to have to return. I'm so furious about it all. Now, that being said -- while waiting in the lobby, I heard Diego deal with other customers, and he was great with them. I'm sure in most cases, this location does a great job fixing cars and dealing with customers. I had to go two days later and was given a used key from another customer. The initial issue that I went for was not addressed. I had to go to another place to program the sensor for my tire. But they're not up selling,.. they care about your car!! if you look at it this way, my car has had no problems since I bought it New with 13 miles on it and I'm pushing 140,000 on my Scion XB (known to have some issues anyways!!) And their prices your paying for quality parts with warranty and excellent service. I used to own a business and would have been thrilled to have an employee half as amazing as he is! I have never had a more positive experience with maintenance and tire changes on my car. Sam was also incredible and stayed an hour after closing when I had a delay on being able to pick up my car. I took my car in on July 30 on a Friday afternoon at 3:30pm to get an oil change, new tires, and an alignment. Frank told me that it will not be done till tomorrow July 31st at noon. I made the decision to leave the car overnight so it can be work on in the morning so I can get my car back sooner. When I stopped by at 1pm, Frank told me that they need 2-3 more hours! I did not receive a phone call till 4:15pm that my car was finished. They had my car for over 24 hours for basic maintenance. I was told the reason why my car took so long to be finished because it was a "busy day" when it should really only take 3 hours not 24 hours. I understand it is busy, but there should be some form of priority for first come, first serve. It's a Saturday and sadly I'm busy too and I needed my car.
