I have had multiple bad experiences here. This is the last time I take my car to this place. You can not make an appointment and even if you do, you will have to wait 4 to 5 hours for something as simple as an oil change. I called two nights ago to let them know I'd like to get a basic check up for a trip and that id be picking it up at 5pm. I dropped off my car last night and I arrived after work (they had over 8 hours to look at it). My car was still parked where I left it. IN 8 HOURS HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED. About a year ago, My wife took her car here to get new tires. She was greeted by Matt, and the " greeting " that she received was subpar; unprofessional and rude. Fast forward, today our AAA tow service in last minute breakdown necessitated a visit to Firestone for initial diagnostic. Well, once again Matt in the service department. Unprofessional and borderline harassing and demeaning quips back at my wife, the customer. Fortunately, we have a retainer for these types of situations. I had an appointment for 2 o'clock for a simple oil change. At 3:30 my vehicle still had not been pulled into the Bay yet. I wasn't even next to go in and when I asked what was going on I was informed "Well be only have 8 bays so we have to take turns"? When reminded about my appointment I got a shoulder srugg. As a female not knowing Jack s*** about cars, I used to take my car here every year for my inspection. I had a 2009 Toyota Camry. I'd never had issues previously but when I took it here the first time I was told I needed all new brake pads & rotors and 4 new tires. It was like $700+ Needless to say I took my car here for the next 4 years. EVERY YEAR I needed all of the above replaced again!! I got to the point I was saving up just to get it inspected annually. Once I met my then boyfriend he suggested me to a different auto place. And GUESS WHAT. My tires brake pads and rotors lasted about 5 years!!! Never again and 3 cars since have I ever had to put that much money into a car each year. I drove the car prob an avg of 20 miles a day. With occasional longer trips . I had one of the best experiences ever with an auto inspection & repair garage in my 83 years at this Firestone on 2048 Electric Road in Roanoke. The manager was one of the most gracious and caring auto service employees with whom I have ever worked. I arrived at 7:00 AM on Monday, August 28 for the annual inspection, an oil change, an a brief diagnostic check. and learned that there were about 12 customers ahead of me. I had two therapy appointments beginning at 11:00 AM and was preparing to cancel them when the most gracious and caring "manager," without my knowledge, moved me to the front of the line and my car was ready at 9:00 AM. In short, I am new to Roanoke since June 21, 2022, and I have been looking for auto garages for more than a year. Well...been waiting 2 and a half hours and they still haven't looked at my car. Very polite workers yes but they seem to work like turtles. I called the Firestone in the morning to let them know my car was dropped off and needed new tires. They put new tires on in two hours and I was on my way back home far quicker than I expected. This place is a joke. My brother brought his Jeep in for an inspection and tried to screw him with repairs not needed. First was an emergency brake assembly that they bought from a junkyard. $200. They wanted to charge another $500 to install. Next was a tie rod that they screwed him for $600. Look at the pic, they never aligned it. It was never even needed. Do NOT go to this place. Avoid this Firestone, bad management and employees. dropped my vehicle off for a front end alignment, they had the vehicle for 2 days. on the second day they finally call and say "got your alignment done, it's ready to come pick it up." So I get a ride down there, get inside and get ready to pay, thats when they decide to tell me "oh yeah we weren't able to align your vehicle." completely unprofessional, I don't know why you would lie to a customer and tell them their vehicle is ready when you haven't done anything. I used to use them for all my tire mounting and balancing but they will no longer be getting my business. would rather drive father to have someone NOT lie to my face. I wouldn't trust these jokers to fix a sandwich the correct way. read more

This is only my second Yelp review; however, I feel like others should be hear about my experience today. (The first being the other mechanic I visited today.) I visited Crescent Heights due to a recommendation from a local. I was taken advantage of in a big way. I mentioned that I was new to the area & this was my first state inspection. They proceeded to fail me & claim that my lower ball joints needed to be replaced. They quoted me at $725.  After leaving, I decided to check the price at a Firestone Complete Auto Care. They offered to do it plus an alignment ($75 value) for $575. To save $150, I decided to let them do it. Later I received a call from the Jamie at Firestone, letting me know that there was absolutely noting wrong with the ball joints & a replacement was not necessary. They proceeded to perform another inspection & simply replaced the wipers & align my headlights for a total of $60. They could have charged me the $575 & I wouldn't have known any different. I am grateful for honest people. Firestone will continue to get my business year after year for their actions today. read more

I took my car here after getting a flat while driving on 220. Was greeted by Aldin and told him that while I was having the flat fixed I was interested in getting new tires all together. He took a look and told me he could do all 4 but I really only needed 3. It was refreshing to hear him be honest instead of just saying I needed all 4, because I for sure wouldn't have been able to tell!!! Decided on 3 and will come back for 4th. Asked him to also change oil, do an alignment and change an out head light. He asked me when I needed the car by and I asked him if it could be ready the following day? It's been my experience that car work takes a while! He said "Oh no, I mean when do you want it by today?" WHHAATT!? He quoted me a price and I was SO relieved with his quote because I figured it would be AT LEAST double. Also asked him to take a look at a window that was stuck down. He was extremely accommodating and listened to all of my concerns. I went to work and within a few hours he was calling with an updated. The work was almost completed but he had found another issue and told me where I would need to take it to be fixed, as it was a body issue that they did not do there. My car was ready by my lunch break another hour later! When I went to pick it up he showed me the body issue and explained it to a clueless car idiot like me and answered all my questions. I didn't end up getting the window fixed but they went above and beyond by taping it up for me until I do! Kathy then checked me out and explained everything that I was charged for and was so knowledgeable and warm that I just wanted to give her a big hug!! The whole team here, made what was potentially a very stressful and expensive day, easy and rather painless to my wallet! Set an appointment to have all four of my tires changed. They said it could take up to an hour. I thought 'Okay, no need for a ride I'll just hang around the mall while I wait'. Well, it took OVER 2 HOURS for a tire change. I asked why and they said an appt doesn't guarantee the exact time your car will be worked on. So what's the point of making an APPOINTMENT?! Missed a doctor's appt I had afterward AND found out their warranty covers absolutely nothing but premature tire wear (and only if YOU can prove it isn't their fault). Never going back. read more

I walked out of work at the hospital at 5pm only to discover I had a flat tire. Immediately the staff relieved my fears and assisted me in finding a towing company (Crossroads Towing) and assured me that my tire would be fixed that night. When I arrived at the location everyone greeted me and without seeing me knew exactly who I was. They treated me like family and even said they would stay over if need be to get me on the way to my house, which was an hour away. Jamie, Nancy and Dustin are my heroes! Called on a Friday afternoon and was given an appointment for 9am the following day. Dropped my car off Friday evening and left key in lock box. Received a call at 8:45am the next morning; they had already taken a look at the tires and had several pricing options for me. My car was completely ready with four new tires and an oil change by noon that day. These guys were honest, informative, and fast. Exactly what I need as a single female with very little car knowledge. They also offer a free tire rotation every 5,000 miles. As a passerby with a fairly urgent car issue, and as a passerby needing to get on the road quickly, they went to lengths I should have never expected to make sure my stay there was as quick as possible. If I had to suffer car problems, I felt fortunate to have to deal with them near the Firestone on Electric Road. They were open on a Sunday. They squeezed me in during a busy time. They rushed for parts they didn't have. They were not just honorable, but geneorous about the bill, and I was able to enjoy a smooth ride home across the country. I can't really comment on how good this place is at fixing or maintaining automobiles because I can't seem to get them to actually look at my car. I will grant that trying to get auto maintenance done on a weekend is never a good idea, but as someone who has one car and works all week, this is my only option. Apparently, this place does 'first come, first serve' scheduling. I arrived bright and early Saturday morning to be told that it would be at least 4 hours due to prior drop offs. Fine. Then the young man said,'but we open at 9 on Sundays so you can come back then.' Great. So I did. Promptly at 9. But somehow '36 cars' were ahead of me, so it would be 'Tuesday' before I could have someone take a look at my car. Due to drop offs. They said "sounds great" I got to the store 25 minutes later and they left it on the lift and told me the mechanic went to lunch in the middle of putting it back together and I had to wait another half hour to an hour. Brought vehicle in yesterday afternoon for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told it would be ready the next morning by 8. Came at 9 and they hadn't even started on it. So did not get work done. No reason or apology given. This with the addition of the bad service I received from my last Firestone visit 2 months ago at another location is it for me . Great deal on tires! I have a toyota highlander and the price for 4 primewell tires was an incredible $380. After an alignment and oil change the price was only about $460 with 4 brand new tires. I thought it was an excellent value. Service was quick. However, I later learned my vehicle needed a right rear lateral link. It wasn't caught with my service but I was told it could lead to improper wear of the tires. However, I'm pleased with the service and I would recommend it to friends. Cheers! read more

I've visited this Firestone on several occasions, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable enough, it seems. But I've always felt like they aren't upfront about prices. For example, I recently brought in my car to have them diagnose the reason my airbag light was on. I found out as I was swiping my credit card that they'd run a $95 test on my car. I would have loved to have known that before the fact. And the prices, in general, always seem high. I'll be shopping around for a new auto repair place. read more

I do not frequent this repair shop anymore. Took my car in six months ago for a coolant change and wound up with a leaking head gasket. After paying about $1500.00 the car still has a gasket leak. They refuse to help me anymore. read more

Took my car in about 12:30 last Sunday for a slow leak in one of my tires. I was told that I would need to leave my car there for a couple of hours before they could patch the tire so that's what I did. After several hours, I had not gotten the phone call I was promised I would get so I decided to go back over there. I arrived at almost 4:30 to find the woman at the desk did not even have the right name on my paperwork, and had not even taken the paperwork and key back to the mechanics! So, after almost 4 hours my car had not even been looked at and they were closing at 5:00. I was then told they would look at it next and to come back in 20 minutes. Ten minutes later I get a call telling me that there is a nail in the sidewall so they cannot patch my tire. But they can put a new tire on for almost $70 but not until the next day since they're getting ready to close (even though they had my car all day but didn't bother to look at it til closing). I picked my car up and told them no thanks on bringing it back for a tire. I took my car to another tire place a few days later and lo and behold, the nail was actually in the middle of the tread (this mechanic showed it to me) and that tire shop patched it for me with no problems for only $15! Firestone wasted my entire day and then lied to me and tried to rip me off by telling me I had to buy a new tire that I really did not need. I am beyond disgusted with the way I was treated and will never again take any of my vehicles to this business. read more
